【Chapter 3】The first big meal

The pheasant's energy is greater than that of a poultry, and it makes Yu Wan have to find something to tie it up.

But Yu Wan searched for half a day but couldn't find any tools in the basket. Finally, she took out a red-headed rope in her arms.

"I still have this in my pocket." Yu Wan raised her eyebrows and tied the pheasant without saying a word with a red-headed rope.

Yu Wan tied a sailor knot. The more the pheasant fluttered, the tighter the red-headed rope was wrapped. In the morning light, it was a little shocking.

Yu Wan hummed a small song and left the vegetable field with the pheasant.

Along the way, she tried to recall information about the village or the dynasty she lived in, but regretfully she didn't get anything up.

However, seeing that the foot of the mountain is almost full of thatched huts, and there are only 20 or 30 households in total, Yu Wan felt that this village was really poor.

The village is located between two hills, with large tracts of farmland. The westward direction, the more deserted they are, and their family lives in the west of the village. There is a relatively flat open space in front of the gate. Yu Wan remembers that there was also such a piece of land in the old house in the countryside in his previous life. Everyone calls it a temple, but I don’t know what it is called, and maybe nothing is called.

When he entered the house, Xiao Tiedan was already awake and was clumsy in dressing himself. No matter how capable he was, he was still a child under six years old. The heavy winter clothes were so thick that it was really difficult for him.

The woman in the bed was not awake yet, her breathing was light, and her pale skin color was more transparent than she looked yesterday.

Yu Wan put down her backpack and walked into the house.

Xiao Tiedan finally put on her last shoe. When she saw Yu Wan, her big watery eyes lit up: "Sister!"

Yu Wan glanced at his bulging little body, stepped forward and flattened his pants, and tucked her top into her cotton pants. She was about to ask him if he was sleeping well, when a loud rooster crow came from the main hall.

Xiao Tiedan was stunned at first, then ran out happily, and a surprised voice could not wait to hear: "Sister! Is this a chicken? Where did the chicken come from? Have you gone to the town? Have you bought a chicken?"

It's really noisy for the children to be excited.

"I didn't go to the town." Besides, I had no money when I went there. Yu Wan tucked the quilt horns for the woman on the bed and took the pheasant to the backyard. The backyard was surrounded by a fence, with a house connected to the front and a pigpen and a stovetop behind. Of course, there were no pigs in the pigpen.

"I caught this on the mountain," Yu Wan said.

"You caught it on the mountain? Sister, you are so awesome!" Xiao Tiedan said with admiration.

Yu Wan took out an empty bowl and put blood on the chicken with one knife.

Xiao Tiedan was not afraid when she saw this scene. She squatted on the ground obediently, without blinking.

"Is it for us to eat?" he asked.

"Of course, otherwise who would give me food?" Yu Wan said.

Little Tiedan wanted to speak but stopped.

Yu Wan felt that her younger brother was a little strange. She was busy cooking and didn't take it to heart. She put the chicken in hot water and soaked it, and started to pluck the hair. While pulling it, she thought about what the side dish was. It couldn't be radish again. She didn't like to eat radish at all.

Suddenly, she turned her head and her eyes fell on the rows of bamboos behind the stove.

The color of bamboo is green and the dried bamboo has small gray-white marks. It should be bamboo from three to five years old. Bamboo of this age is most suitable for digging bamboo shoots.

"Sister, what are you looking at?" Xiao Tiedan asked in confusion.

Yu Wan didn't say anything, put down the pheasant with her hair plucked, found a shovel and walked towards the bamboo.

Xiao Tiedan didn't know what she was going to do, so she followed her happily.

Yu Wan walked back and forth in the bamboo field, suddenly squatted down, used a shovel to slash under a bamboo tree, and dashed out a pointed, sweet potato-sized thing.

"It's really there." Yu Wan smiled.

"Sister, what is this?" Xiao Tiedan asked curiously.

Yu Wan said happily: "Winter bamboo shoots."

"Can you eat it?" Xiao Tiedan asked again.

Yu Wan bent her lips: "Of course."

Not only can it be eaten, it is also very delicious and has rich nutritional value.

After Yu Wan digs the bamboo shoots, she gently fills the soil so that it can continue to grow in the coming year.

There are not many bamboos here, but not many are the less, but not every tree has bamboo shoot buds. After Yu Wan digs two of them, she finished her work in the sound of the little iron egg being so hungry that she cries.

Yu Wan removed the shells and washed them, cut them into slices, chopped the pheasant into pieces, put the internal organs aside, stir-fry the chicken pieces and the winter bamboo shoots over high heat, and then simmered them over low heat.

Yu Wan rarely cooks. To be honest, she is not very skilled in cooking, but she can’t stand the ingredients. But in a moment, the rich chicken aroma mixed with the fresh bamboo shoots smell floated out layer by layer, stimulating Yu Wan and her brother’s senses everywhere.

Little Tiedan was drooling.

Yu Wan opened the lid of the pot and scooped a piece of chicken to hand it to him. He shook his head quickly, swallowed his saliva and said, "I, I'll wait for my mother and sister to eat together!"

"Okay." Yu Wan did not refuse, covered the pot and said to Xiao Tiedan, "The garlic sprouts are not big enough, I'll pick some in the field."

"Then I'll guard the chicken!" Xiao Tiedan said with a serious look on her face.

Yu Wan chuckled: "Okay, please keep the chicken and don't let someone steal it."

This was a joke with Xiao Tiedan, but when she went out, someone really thought about the chicken in her pot.

The person who came was none other than Zhao Heng's biological mother Zhao.

That day after Awan went to the lake, Zhao Heng immediately rescued her and said to the outside world that she had fallen into the water. Even Zhao's biological mother didn't know the truth.

Awan was in a coma for several days. Zhao thought she could not survive, but the neighbor said that she had seen Awan, so she came to confirm it.

"Awan, are you awake? You are really! You don't go and tell me when you wake up. Heng'er is going to pay the money again. Get the money quickly-"

Zhao said as she entered the house. Halfway through the conversation, she stopped.

What's the fragrance?

Why does it smell so good?!

Zhao rushed into the kitchen in a hurry.

The moment Xiao Tiedan saw her, her little face suddenly turned dark.

Zhao didn't even look at Xiao Tiedan, and she uncovered the lid of the pot. When she saw the big pot of golden soup and stewed chicken, her eyes suddenly turned green!

She no longer remembers when she ate meat last time. Ten days ago? Half a month ago? This dead girl, Awan, was incompetent. She could only let her eat meat one or two times a month, and all of them were pitiful. God knows that she was greedy for meat!

There is a big pot here, a big pot!

Zhao excitedly put down the lid of the pot, pulled open the cupboard, took out a clean clay pot, and naturally scooped up the chicken in the pot.

Xiao Tiedan grabbed her hand angrily: "Sister said, this is for us to eat! You are not allowed to take it away!"

Zhao snorted: "Your sister is my daughter-in-law, and hers is mine! When is it your turn to eat?"

Damn girl! I didn’t know how to take such a good thing to her, so I secretly hid it in the house to stew it! Fortunately, she came, otherwise this big pot of chicken would have been eaten by these plague-affected people!

"Start up!" Zhao scolded.

"I don't!" Xiao Tiedan hugged Zhao tightly and refused to let go.

Zhao was angry, waved his hand hard, pulled out his arm, pinched Xiao Tiedan's face and said viciously: "What kind of thing are you? You dare to care about me? Believe it or not, I will beat you up?"

Xiao Tiedan's face was pinched red, and she stared at her with her hips: "You beat me! You beat me!"

"You, you boy!" Zhao raised his slap.

If Zhao would have beaten this annoying little beast in normal times, but the chicken in front of her was so delicious that she couldn't wait to take it back and eat it with her son and daughter, so she let go of Xiao Tiedan with "compassionateness" and threw him out, turning around to scoo up the chicken in the pot.

She scooped a pot of chicken cleanly, leaving no chicken neck.
