Chapter 8 Laws

Screams came from the second floor, and they ran through the bar like lightning.

Cecilia was startled and the suitcase in her hand fell to the ground. She heard that it was Uriel's voice. Compared to the normal communication before, the voice was full of panic and collapse, which was chilling.

The laughter suddenly disappeared from the restaurant, and Ez raised his head suddenly. He realized that he might have made some mistake, but the messenger was coming, and he was just confused.

"Cecila, give me the box." Ez shouted in a hurry.

As soon as the girl handed it, she was snatched by a traveler. She watched the boss pull out a thick scarf from it and wrapped herself tightly.

This made Cecilia turn her head and look outside the door, confirming that she is in the hot and hot moon instead of winter.

Then why did Mr. Ez dress like this?

Ez's movements were very fast. While he climbed the steps again, he straightened his hat and the stairs creaked under his feet. When it came to the end, he still reminded him:

"Don't go upstairs, don't come up without any situation, don't say anything."

"What happened, man?" the dwarf asked again.

"You will know soon." The bar owner shook his head and said he would never say much.

...

Uriel climbed the railing, which was the edge of the bookshelf. His back was against the cold glass, and his muscles were numbed with coldness, so scared that he almost lost his mind.

The headless body was bent in front of him, bent down, only half an arm away from his face.

It was not until now that Uriel could see clearly that this incomplete human form - a creature - did not break from the neck, but the outline from bottom to top began to blur: the legs were clear, and the color of the upper body gradually faded.

The most obvious evidence is that the fabric on the cuffs is originally black, but when it reaches the shoulders, it turns gray and white; in fact, the person's head contour has been completely faded so that it can't be seen clearly, which gives people the illusion of "the head has disappeared."

The apprentice's mind was muddy. He recalled the legends about ghosts he had heard when he was, but there were few headless descriptions in those stories - most ghosts had legs.

In the original world, it was just a construction of human fantasy, but in this alternative Eastman Kingdom, mystery actually exists.

Even before his eyes.

The real chill began to spread in the room, and frost gradually condensed on the glass. Uriel thought in despair that he might be dying. The floating cloud train dragged him from the original world into a terrible environment without saying a word. So what would this ghost do and turn him into a similar type?

But unexpectedly, a strange low voice appeared in the room after he screamed:

"Can you see me?"

The apprentice realized that the strange creatures in front of him could communicate. A little hope arose in his heart, but it immediately sank. He didn't know how to answer. Even at the station in Songbigrad, he had a clear choice of life, but now he would say that it would be too late to not see it?

But this is also worth a try, it is better than being killed honestly.

So the apprentice began to shake his head frantically, the amplitude and frequency were approaching the limit he could reach, allowing the headless man who was close to moved backwards.

The voice was silent for a moment and said affirmatively: "You can hear me."

“…”

Uriel simply wanted to slap himself. He had never experienced his stupidity so deeply, and fear had already made him confused.

The apprentice was crying, and his voice trembled with fear and sudden drops of temperature. He struggled and said, "No... sir, just pretend I didn't see it... Please don't kill me..."

The headless man stopped talking. In fact, the apprentice didn't even know where the sound came from. He looked at the mysterious creature standing there nervously, his slightly transparent chest undulating, as if he was breathing.

"No." It spits out a syllable.

This time the response was concise. But because it was too concise, Ulier had no idea whether it agreed not to kill him or rejected his request...

Fortunately, the footsteps rang out from outside the door, and the fragile staircase seemed to be about to be shattered in the next second. The apprentice was so excited that she almost burst into tears. He had never felt that the sound of the dilapidated staircase in his home was so wonderful.

But then Uriel realized that he was dragging others into the water. Since this headless man could kill him, he naturally would not be compassionate to forgive anyone in the bar. He couldn't help but fear it, but this time it was not for himself.

"Mr. Ez!" Just as the footsteps approached the door, Uriel closed his eyes and shouted:

“There is a headless man here!”

The reason why there is no more warning is that the apprentice has a little expectation, which comes from the mercenaries Cecilia mentioned to him - they are hunting these mysterious creatures, aren't they?

At this moment, Urial's reason returned to his body. He could recall what the stupid girl behind the bar in a flash. If he could survive, the apprentice felt that he must confess to her—

This may be love.

For a time, the apprentice of the laundry shop who sells hard work to fill his stomach every day actually feels like he has no regrets in this life.

The headless man also heard the sound, perhaps it was felt by other methods, so he turned his body slightly, "Ez?"

The steps in front of the door paused for a moment, and the back door opened.

“…”

The door was quickly opened and closed quickly. In Uriel's dull gaze, the bar owner took off his hat and bent down deeply: "Master Messenger."

Slowly, I actually knew... "Familiar mysterious creature"?

The apprentice felt that his heartbeat was like a roller coaster ride. The big toy that looked like it could make people lose their souls could only be controlled by adventurers and naughty kids in the original world. It would be better for ordinary people like him not to test their hearts like that.

After the fear faded, his fantasy about Cecilia suddenly came to his mind, and Uriel was so embarrassed that he even blushed when he thought of her name.

"You didn't go to the station." said the headless man.

"Sorry, Lord Messenger, something happened in my store, so I was a little too late..."

Perhaps his apology was very sincere, his face was full of sweat and was very convincing. The headless man didn't hold on to this matter: "My night curse is broken."

Ez's cheek twitched, "I'll fix it for you."

The headless man raised his hand, and then Uriel noticed that the other party had worn an equally pale ring on his pale fingers, so that he had not noticed its existence in his previous nervous state.

Then the headless man took off the ring-

A cold wind swept through the room, and the glass and the floor were covered with white frost. Uriel felt the back collar of his clothes condensed on the bookcase, and the heat he exhaled was clearly visible in the air.

His hands and feet were numb, and his hair suddenly became stagnant. For a moment, even the circulation of blood became stagnant, and the apprentice couldn't help but have difficulty breathing.

When the fog dissipated, the outline of the headless man was revealed. He was not really without a head.

It was a pale young man, wearing a black and gray half-body armor, and the huge gray-white curved armor on his left shoulder was particularly eye-catching, with strange seven-pointed stars on it; his exposed skin was not a bit of blood, as pale and clean as a statue of the Holy Spirit in the church.

The pair of eyes that exuded a bitter cold were like glass balls embedded in stone statues, making people unable to see the spirit given by vitality at first glance.

His dead face was only one punch from Ulier, and the apprentice felt that his soul was almost frozen.

This is... a mysterious creature?

The "Sacred Icon" handed the ring to the bar owner, who took it with both hands, and his body was trembling with coldness.

Recalling Ez's attitude before, Uriel finally knew why the other party was dressed as if he had just come out of the ice cellar. His joints seemed to be frozen or built into cement. Not only was his whole body stiff, but his mind was almost stopped.

The young man glanced at him, his eyes suddenly appeared on the side, and then turned back suddenly, and the movement process seemed to not exist.

"ASAP."

Ez held the ring and mobilized his magic with all his strength. A glimmer of light flashed in his hand, and strange characters flew out of the ring one by one, and then posted them one by one.

The shiny rings floated up and circled around in the air.

"It's not a problem, Lord Messenger." Mr. Druid replied in shock.

The apprentice was stunned.

The messenger's expression did not change at all. He put the ring back on his finger and gently tapped it on it:

"Soren."

With the low call, the runes flashed regularly. The "Sacred Icon" stretched out his hand and signaled the apprentice to let him go.

Uriel didn't think about it. His ups and downs and his excitement after the disaster briefly restored his body to mobility at this moment. He almost ran away. As his collar condensed on the bookcase, the glass was almost torn to pieces by him.

Kakka--

The frost forced the glass fragments together. The white patterns on it moved strangely, forming a line of sharp letters.

The line of law is chaotic, the magic effect is weakened, so it is recommended to stay away.

The frost pattern began to spread naturally, drawing beautiful curves.

"The law is abnormal." Ez looked around nervously, unable to imagine what was happening near his bar. The chaos of the law is not a joke. Normally, those places are all elemental territory or dark landless.

But Favrank Avenue is not a crater, so why is the laws confusing?

The messenger turned his attention to the apprentice again.
