Thirteen: River Bottom

For most people in Qinghefang, tonight is a special night, and of course the special thing is limited to it being very quiet tonight. Traveling around at night is a saying that the gods are like officials in the temple. They suppress a mountain range today, and tomorrow they may be sent by the Emperor of Heaven to manage a certain water area.

If the gods want to take office, they often choose to be at night. If ordinary people collide with the gods, they will have a long bad luck. Therefore, after the curfew ban was issued, no one would disobey, and they should take a break.

But the update tonight was extremely annoying. After only midnight, the gong rang seven or eight times! Is it still allowed people to sleep?

The residents of Qinghefang didn't know that when the last five sounds of the gong, dozens of figures quietly appeared in the darkness around Qinghefang, as if they heard the sound of horns of soldiers, and quickly rushed to the head of the goddess' bridge. There was only a raccoon cat licking the fur on the wall. He was frightened by the group of ghostly demon-killers, and arched his back and let out a harsh scream, and hid it in the corner.

The moonlight was light, and the clusters of early peach blossoms on the branches turned white. When the night wind blew, a few peach blossoms fell and disappeared into the gurgling sound of the water under the Goddess Bridge. Li Chan walked down the bridge with a white lantern, looking at the secluded and deserted place where the clothes were pounded, a red medicine stem trembled in the wind, and the petals were swept away by the wind.

On the distant embankment, two black-sailed boats sailed over, rowing shattered the moon shadow on the water, and the sound of rustling water came. There were also mixed footsteps behind Li Chan. When he turned around, he saw that the demon officials surrounded him. A row of yellow lanterns with the word "Zha" were shaking. Guo Xun walked over among the crowd, holding a straight knife with his right hand.

Just as he was about to ask about the situation, a demon-attacker in the rear shouted: "The supervisor is here."

Li Li'er, dressed as a guest, walked up with a white lantern. His clothes were a little messy, but his expression was calm. He walked through the demon-attacked officials, stared at Li Chan by the river, and frowned and said, "Did you know there was a ghost in the place where I went?"

Li Chan explained: "The supervisor ordered to act separately, but I dared not disobey, so I went to another direction."

Li Li'er was a little angry, but what Li Chan said was indeed the truth, so he had to say in a deep voice: "Where is the demon? You beat five gongs. According to what you said before, the matter was solved."

"It has been subdued." Li Chan looked at the red medicine flower stem under the bridge, "Guo Duwei, send someone who is watery and can go and have a look."

Li Li'er's eyebrows jumped.

Guo Xun looked at Li Li'er, Li Li'er nodded. Guo Xun untied his straight knife and handed it to the demon-killing official beside him. He walked to the stone steps where he was pounding clothes and asked again: "Who brought the rhinoceros candle curse?"

Suddenly, seven demon-killing officials responded. Guo Xun pointed his hand and picked a thin one, "Follow me."

The demon-attacking official walked out of the crowd and took out a talisman tied with red thread into an index finger. The cinnabar text on the yellow paper painted the rhinoceros can curse. The so-called "the horn of the rhinoceros can be the horn of the rhinoceros" means that the horn of the great monster's swaying rhinoceros can see all the illusions in the world. The rhinoceros can curse only illuminates the darkness and confusion. It belongs to the sixth-grade spiritual response method and can illuminate underwater.

After the demon-attacking official chanted the spell, the talisman in his hand was made of white light, illuminating the area within three meters, but it was not dazzling at all.

After Guo Xun and the demon-killer who was cursing with the rhinoceros candle, Li Li'er looked at Li Chan and fell into deep thought. So far, the development of things has exceeded his expectations. The left-door demon did not run away, but instead, he took the lead in addition to the demon.

Didn’t he ask Shenzhasi to be a cover? Li Li'er was puzzled and even wondered whether Li Chan had really eliminated the monsters. But thinking about his experience just now, he was trapped in the ghost market, with his ears full of strange opera sounds, and countless demons rushed over and could not kill them. He was still thinking about a solution to the countermeasure, but the illusion suddenly dissipated, and then he heard the sound of gongs coming from the bridge of the goddess.

It must be because Li Chan really did something that led to the destruction of the magic. It would be too far-fetched to explain it by coincidence.

"How did you get rid of that monster?" Li Li'er looked at Li Chan and found that there was no injury on Li Chan's body, and even her clothes were not stained with dirt. Then her eyes fell on the scroll hanging around Li Chan's waist. He remembered that before this, Li Chan tied the scroll to his back.

Li Chan looked at the light emitted by the rhinoceros candle cursing under the water and said, "Young man forgot the four conditions at the beginning? If I use the method of left-handedness and side-door, Shenzhasi will not be allowed to ask."

Li Li'er shook her head, "I am not a member of Shenzhasi, and the condition is that Shenzhasi cannot use this excuse to ask about your sins, but he did not say that he could not let you explain."

Li Chan smiled.

"You can't learn it even if I said."

As he said that, he walked towards the embankment, leaving only Li Li'er with a back. Li Li'er jumped hard twice, but he didn't want to lower his identity and fight for a left-door demon. Since the form has changed, the current priority is to wait for Guo Xun to come out from the bottom of the water before exploring the truth of the case.

Li Chan walked to the shore, raised his hand and broke down a peach blossom branch, squatted down and threw it into the Pu River. The peach branches flowed westward, and Li Chan also looked westward.

Li Li'er looked at Li Chan's actions and showed a hesitant look. He walked over and looked at the peach branches that were passing by the moonlight, and said softly: "I heard that the large peach wood on Taodu Mountain in the West is a place where many ghosts enter and exit. According to the saying, every petal of peach blossom is a soul, so there is a Peach Festival every March to pray for the longevity and peace of life..."

Li Chan looked at the West and said, "When the case was not solved, six people died because of this."

Li Li'er didn't notice that her tone eased a lot, "What does it mean to Zhetao?"

"The souls of these six people can go west with Taozhi. If you have a guide, maybe you can go to Taodu Mountain." Li Chan smiled.

Li Li'er looked at Taozhi, which was leaving the water, and her mood suddenly became a little complicated. This left-right demon was really different from what he imagined.

...

Guo Xun dived into the bottom of the water, and with the light of the rhinoceros candle curse, he gradually saw a huge shadow along the stem of the red medicine.

When he approached the shadow, he saw a huge clam shell, which was in a house. The clam shell was closed tightly. When the rhinoceros candle curse shone, he could vaguely see a gap. When he approached, he found that it was a sword mark, two feet long and three feet wide, which could accommodate people entering and leaving. Guo Xun was shocked and knew that this guy was the Lord of Pushui Mansion, and it was obviously in danger. He reached out and touched the broken mouth, and felt as smooth as a mirror.

The flower stem of the red medicine penetrated under the water for five feet, and it happened to grow from the crack of the clam shell. Guo Xun waved his hand to follow.

As soon as the white light of the rhinoceros candle curse shone, the scene inside the clam shell was clearly visible, and the shell was very empty, and the body of Pushui Fujun had been eaten up.
