6. Grouping

At that time, there were twenty-three people in the exploration team, four people in a group, and there were four groups in total. The rest of the people were used as reserve team support, and each group was equipped with half a squad of engineers to serve as cover and carry equipment.

At that time, the number of classes was uncertain.

Let’s distinguish it here. In fact, the exploration team belongs to a special technical army and belongs to a geological exploration engineering brigade. The engineering team belongs to the army army and is divided into two systems. Relatively speaking, we are naturally much more comfortable than the engineering team. We do not have many rules and regulations in the army, and we all have military ranks.

The technical army was still in the regular army back then, and we also received strict training when we joined the army. However, despite this, it is impossible to maintain that kind of physique after working in recent years. It is still necessary to have engineers around us. Especially for cave exploration, the ropes are very heavy, and when encountering underground cliffs or geological cracks, the consumption is very large. A few more people bring ropes, which can help us go further in the early stages.

In addition, they obviously brought some things they arranged by themselves. The recruits who were often trained could carry 20 kilograms and march for more than 30 kilometers. Although they didn't know what they were carrying, they looked relatively relaxed when looking at their expressions.

I was thinking about Lao Mao's words and wanted to get into the reserve team and stay in the house to see the situation first. What's abominable is that when I was in the group, I came from age. I was considered young and I was assigned to the second group. Among the same group as me were Wang Sichuan and two from Shaanxi, one named Pei Qing and the other named Chen Luohu.

I am not unfamiliar with these two people. We were already comrades-in-arms during the Karamay Oil Battle. We often met in the local area. However, we were not in the same unit and we usually came to meet them. We had no impression of each other when we met. This time we finally had in-depth exchanges.

Pei Qing is a young man with a white face, looking very young, but his hair is gray and he looks very bitter and deeply revenge. He is a little proud, he is said to have a high education and is a technical backbone of the unit. He usually talks little, and is said to be a person who provokes peach blossoms.

Chen Luohu is the opposite of him. He works hard at the grassroots level and doesn’t speak Mandarin. Sometimes we tell jokes, and he is happy when he listens. You book a club all day long, and you know how to be hungry, and you are so funny. Unfortunately, this person is a bit cunning and can be seen to be very careful. He is a villain in that kind of agency, and we don’t like to answer him very much.

The engineers were with us five people from the fourth squad of the 6th Company of the Inner Mongolia Engineering Corps at that time. The deputy squad leader seemed to be called Anti-American. The four soldiers were all unfamiliar faces and were quite young. They didn't introduce them at that time. We just saluted each other and just recognized their faces.

In terms of weapons, the deputy squad leader wore Type 56 at that time, and the other four people were carrying 54 submachine guns, and all the bullets were brought. Wang Sichuan told them that it was too exaggerated. There may be wild animals in the caves in the south, and at most there were bats here. The temperature in the caves here was too low, cold-blooded animals could not stay firm, and bears and other things could not climb into such deep caves. The only thing to worry about was warmth and oxygen, but the engineers did not seem to care about these aspects.

Of course, these soldiers could not listen to us. We all refused to bring guns, but we tied them with armed belts. The equipment was classified and classified into everyone. I brought tools such as geological shovels and geological hammers. I felt very lucky that these things can be used for self-defense and not too heavy. Wang Sichuan carved a few tableware, and he had a lot of opinions on the organization.

After we were ready, we were hung from the hole by the traction. I still remember the experience that I still remember. It took a lot of time to hang it on more than 200 meters, just like swinging, which really cost me my life. I would rather use a rope to swing myself than to hang it so quickly. To be honest, climbing a cliff is common for me. More than 200 meters is not very deep. Climbing a cliff was much more difficult than here when I was in Shandong.

Because the entire trumpet hole is tortuous, at the beginning, there was still sunlight, and when it went down to thirty meters, it started to turn dark. The direction of the hole changed. After going down, it was only five or six meters and then it entered a pitch-black state. At this time, you can see lights shining below.

I looked at the rock walls all the way, and it was obvious that the Cambrian Ordovician limestone was very clear. Obviously, this cave was a composite cave, which must have the characteristics of both a cave and a structural cave.

Soon I got down to the point where I could see the scene below. The bottom of the cave was as big as a standard playground. The bottom was full of water, and the water was flowing slowly. This was indeed an underground river, but it was too common in karst caves and I was not surprised at all.

I also saw many temporary iron racks underneath. I don’t know if they were left by the Japanese at that time or we set up ourselves. Several large car lamps and things transported from the first were piled on the racks. The engineers were taking out the things inside, all of which were folded rafts one by one. A few of them were already filled with air and floating on the water.

The water didn't seem to be deep, and many people were standing in the water wearing rubber shoes. Wang Sichuan went down before me, even lit the cigarette, and stood on the side and shining the inner wall of the hole with flashlights everywhere.

I went down to the iron rack at the bottom, and out of professional habits, my attention was immediately attracted by the situation in the hole, turned on the flashlight, and looked at the surrounding rock walls with others.

When I first joined the work a few years ago, I felt that the cave had a very special charm, especially the unknown mystery, which always made me feel like I had come to a place that does not belong to the world. When we explore, we often compare caves to blood vessels in mountains and walk through them. Sometimes you can clearly feel a strange atmosphere, and you will naturally realize that the mountains are alive.

But now my eyes look at it is like a gynecologist treats gynecological diseases, only looking at where I should see it.

I have encountered such a cave in Shanxi before. In many places, it is called a cave in the sky pit. It is said that it was a hole smashed by God. Most of it is extremely deep. However, this cave is different from an ordinary sinkhole, and it is much more complicated.

Tectonic lava composite caves are complex caves formed by geological structure and water erosion at the same time. They have ravines, rugged terrain directions, and extremely complex cave systems. To put it simply, the direction of water caves is relatively stable. If you take a raft and go down the underground river, there will be no major problems. However, the geological tectonic caves may have very outrageous faults, and may drift down to a certain place. Suddenly, it will be an underground waterfall with a drop of 100 meters, so there will be no chance of survival. We generally avoid going deeper into this kind of cave exploration.

But this time I definitely couldn't escape. I turned around and wanted to remind the engineers that it would be better to tie stones to the ditch anchor to increase the weight. However, when I looked back, I found that Chen Luohu was already doing these things.

I jumped into the water, and the water didn't reach my knees, and it was cool. There were caves on both sides of it. The water flowed out from one side and into the other. As I looked, I walked behind Wang Sichuan and saw him focusing on the rock wall on one side.

When I walked over, he found me and signaled me to see where I saw it. I also shone it with a flashlight and found that the rock wall in the place where he was looking was marked with polished marks, as if it was covered with a layer of wax.

Then he pointed to a few places with the flashlight to show me, all of which were similar traces. Then I felt very strange, looked at him, and winked at him, meaning to ask him, "What do you think?"
