Chapter 16 Attack on Albany
On October 11, the 7th Division stationed in Nanbeicheng. Nanbeicheng is located below the central Tennessee River in the Texas Plain, near Montgomery in the United States. Nanbeicheng has a population of more than 50,000, most of which are surrounded by farms and pastures, and a small number of mines.
At the train station, truck after truckload of logistics supplies are being carried out quickly. The barracks and the troops composed of companies have set off.
Peng Jianlei, the company commander of the 2nd Company of the 3rd Battalion of the 3rd Regiment of the 7th Division, belonged to one of the first companies to set off. His destination was St. Augustine on the Florida Peninsula in Spain. St. Augustine only has a population of more than 3,000, with about 1,000 infantry soldiers and more than twenty cannons. Although the Florida Peninsula belongs to Spain, there is a blank area except for Odin City. The 3rd Battalion, together with a cavalry company and an artillery company assigned to them, is responsible for clearing this area.
On the way, their battalion would also capture the city of Albany, the British colony, and all the farms and towns encountered on the way. The rest of the division troops would bypass the southern Appalachian Mountains to attack Georgia, South and North Carolina. There were many colonial towns and a large population in these areas. All troops were assigned to war horses.
"Company Commander, the cavalry company commander 10 kilometers ahead found a migrating Pueblo Indian, with more than 30,000 people."
The messenger ordered the soldiers to run to the front of them in a panting and swaying manner.
"Everyone accelerates to support and promptly report to the battalion commander to keep the cavalry company away from the Pueblos, so as not to cause unnecessary conflict."
"Yes," a messenger immediately set off.
Half an hour later, the 2nd Company, who arrived hurriedly, quickly dismounted, with halberd soldiers in front, rifle soldiers in the center, grenadiers in the end, and slowly walked forward.
The deputy company commander temporarily controlled the troops, and Peng Jianlei ran to the cavalry company.
"Old Liu, what's going on?"
"Damn, I became Old Liu at the age of 20," the cavalry company commander complained dissatisfiedly. Because he looked so old, he was so old, and he was used to Lao Liu's real name but was forgotten by everyone. Both of them came from the same place as His Majesty the Emperor, and naturally they were much closer. Most of the other troops were Indians who surrendered.
"It's not clear that the security agency's spies have come up to communicate."
"Are they running away? Look at that embarrassing appearance, their leather jackets are torn." Peng Jianlei expressed his opinion.
"The spy is calling us over and going to see, there should be no conflict. The spy's mouth is too powerful, and all those who die are said to be alive. Since we expanded, there have only been a few small conflicts with the Indian tribe. With their mouths, it will be easy to find a wife in the future."
"A good mouth doesn't mean you are good at finding a wife. Let's see when you go."
Before coming to the Indian camp, four chiefs with colorful feathers on their heads and spy quartz were on the side of the road.
Quartz pointed at them and introduced: "The two company commanders, they are Indian Pueblos. Except for one tribe who defected to the British, the rest of the coastal area, all the others are here. They said that there were originally 150,000 people in the four tribes, but now there are only 30,000 left. After hearing our legend of Yanhuang, I really couldn't survive and embarked on the road to escape west, hoping to join the ancestors and fight against the white demons together. They hid and hid all the way, and had no food, and hoped to get some support."
"Tell them that we will arrive at our city Nanyoucheng immediately. We will hold on for a while. We will also take out some of the grain so that their old and weak can complete the remaining distance. I will ask someone to go back to the battalion department to apply for food support from Nanyoucheng immediately." Peng Jianlei said to Quartz while making a dangerous gesture to his deputy company commander.
The soldiers of the two companies gave most of the rations they had on their bodies to the old and weak Pueblo people, and waited for the rear to replenish the supplies before setting off again after the battalion sent someone to take them away.
On October 16, Peng Jianlei led the company to cross the Chathouchi River, and the plains ahead were filled with British villages and towns.
Lao Liu led the cavalry battalion to raid the village of Blackley, located by the river. There were only a hundred people and dozens of horses in the whole village. The men in the village had a clamp, which only caused one cavalry soldier's calf to be injured and attacked. He killed anyone who dared to resist with a gun. Peng Jianlei's company entered the village without a single shot. Then Lao Liu sent cavalry soldiers to disperse around the village, and after the battalion headquarters arrived, they launched a large-scale attack together.
"Company Commander, there is a British Lord named Entson to see you." A guard came in and reported.
"Let him come and see what he has to say."
Lord Entson, an old man who was nearly fifty years old, gave a gentlemanly salute: "Sir, which country do you belong to and why do you invade our homes? On behalf of the British Empire, I protest to you and compensate me for the losses suffered by my people, otherwise the British Empire will declare war on you."
"Sir, you're wrong. This continent belongs to our Chinese Empire. We have lived here for centuries and have established a huge country. We have cities from the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic Ocean. Because of your slow progress, we have to launch a counterattack. You are the invaders. For the people living on this continent, we will drive you out of the sea completely."
"Sir, aren't you kidding? You've never heard of an empire on this continent." Entson, shocked, said angrily.
"We left the Eastern Continent to come here to establish the empire we established at the end of the Southern Song Dynasty of the Eastern Empire. We will ask you to visit our country on behalf of your country, and then report to your Emperor. We speak with facts. We will not appear out of thin air in hundreds of cities (but the facts are out of thin air)."
"Well, I hope I can see your hundreds of cities, Mr. Officer, I hope my leaders cannot be abused."
"Sorry, I can't guarantee this. I believe you know what you have done on this continent. Many of the residents of our empire are Indians. I cannot stop their revenge. If you can survive, you must pray to your God." Peng Jianlei shrugged and replied.
"Sir, you can't do this," Entson begged.
"Sorry, I can't do it. You have to bear the consequences you have caused yourself,"
"Guards, take him down and send two people to escort him to our empire for a tour."
In the evening, all the officers and soldiers of the 3rd Battalion led by battalion commander Dou Fulai came to Blackley.
"Boy Lei, you understand your majesty's meaning well, and the mission has been completed very well. Please inform us to have a meeting."
"Thank you, the battalion commander, for your compliment." Peng Jianlei saluted.
The officers arrived one after another, "our chief of staff will arrange the mission."
The Chief of Staff walked onto the stage and pointed at the map with a baton and said, "Dear Company Commanders, according to the information of our Security Bureau, there are three towns around us, Eufora, Caspert and Colquette. Each town has no more than 100 armed militias. The 3rd Company is responsible for occupying Eufora, Caspian Company is responsible for Caspian, and the 5th Company is responsible for Colquette. The Cavalry Battalion will send a platoon of cavalry to assist you in the attack. There are a large number of farms around these three towns. We will hand you the map later. You have to sweep all the way, and then you must go to the city of Albany before the 19th. The battalion commander will lead the remaining soldiers to advance slowly and wait for the arrival of the Imperial City Building personnel. Do you understand?"
"Understood."
"Is there anything else to add to the battalion commander?"
"Brothers, our battalion is the first among all the soldiers of the Empire to launch an attack. We must win beautifully and win simply. With our advanced rifles and artillery, I don't want any accidental casualties to appear. Your Majesty is still listening to our good news. On the 20th, we must occupy the entire Albany area. Can we do it?"
"able!"
"Very good, let the brothers rest well at night, set up a warning, and leave the meeting."
Chapter completed!
