Chapter 31 Derrick Rose

The University of Memphis this season is really hard to deal with!

Their lineup is quite stable, with shooting guard Chris Douglas Roberts, small forward Antonio Anderson, center Robert Docher and power forward Joey Dorsey, these main players have played together for two years, strong and tacit understanding.

More importantly, the University of Memphis has gained a lot from recruiting new jobs this summer. The joining of genius high school student Derek Ross not only strengthened the weakness of the No. 1 position, but also improved their combat effectiveness a lot.

As the fifth-ranked talented high school student in the United States this year, Derek Ross is almost everyone in the United States.

This is a guy who has been carrying a halo of genius since he was a child.

When he was very young, he had already shown outstanding basketball talent and the potential to be a professional player. His brothers taught him to play, but Ross soon came from behind. Even before he was ten years old, many agents wanted to contact him.

From junior high school, Ross was able to dominate the game.

Ross' older brother Reggie Ross coaches an AUU team. Under the latter, Ross often defeated opponents far away from home who were much older than his age. At that time, Ross became an idol of most of his peers. After all, few people could beat children much older than them at that age.

When he arrived in high school, Derek Ross completely revealed his talent.

In the first game wearing the No. 25 jersey of Simien High School, Ross scored 22 points. This was a perfect debut! The explosive dunk, accurate pass, and tenacious fighting spirit made the audience fall in love with him in an instant. Even the scouts who came from all directions were stunned.

This is just the beginning!

Then, under the careful training of head coach Smith, Derek Ross became even more out of control.

In the first grade of high school, he averaged 18.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game. In the second grade of high school, he averaged 19.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 2.4 steals per game. In the third grade of high school, he averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 2.6 steals per game. In the fourth grade of high school, he averaged 25.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 3.4 steals per game.

The explosive personal data and increasingly outstanding team record make Ross a future star in the eyes of the media. The name Derek Ross is well known to more and more people.

In his last two years of high school career, Derek Ross led the team to a record of 66 wins and 6 losses, and won two consecutive state championships, becoming the first team in the Chicago Public High School League to complete the move.

"This is what I am most proud of!"

Then, honors came to him like a tide. He was selected as the best team in the United States; selected as the best team in the United States jointly selected by America Today, Parade magazine and Ea Sports; selected as the best team in the United States; was selected as the best team in the United States by the Chicago Tribune as the 2007 Illinois Basketball Master; became the five-star high school student in the United States in 2007, ranking fifth.

He then joined the University of Memphis with a glory.

It was a win-win decision. Derek Ross brought speed and passion to the University of Memphis, and the deep lineup of the University of Memphis helped Derek Ross toward greater fields.

Derek Ross began to compare with those great players. After the start of the season, there were many NBA scouts coming to watch every game at Memphis University. They were all for Derek Ross.

“He is like the illegitimate son of God!”

When everyone discussed Rose before the game, the envy in the tone of A.J. Price, who was also in the same position, was beyond words.

Everyone agrees with his point of view.

Zhou Jing knows Derek Ross' future basketball career better than everyone else, and he also agrees with this view.

He once watched a documentary about Ross. It said: God should be the one who loves Ross. He created a basketball genius who combines strength, speed and skills.

In 2008, Rose, who entered the NBA as the No. 1 pick, put on the Chicago Bulls jersey and fought for his hometown. The moment he appeared in the United Center Arena, he had become Chicago's darling and idol.

In the 2010-11 season, Ross, who was 22 years old and 191 days, won the regular season MVP in front of LeBron James, becoming another MVP winner for the Chicago Bulls since Jordan. In that season, the Bulls led by Ross achieved a regular season record of 62 wins and 20 losses, advanced to the playoffs as the league first, allowing the Bulls to see hope for the championship again.

This Chicago boy seems to be the protagonist with a halo in the novel.

But God did not favor Ross. He gave Derek Ross talent and hope, but he did not give him a future.

In the 2011-12 season, Rose, the newest MVP player, stepped into the playoffs with great enthusiasm. However, what greeted him was not the O'Brien Cup, but endless suffering.

In the game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Ross was accidentally injured while completing his last breakthrough. He fell to the ground in pain and was diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament on his left knee. He missed the entire 2012-13 season. In the 2013-14 season, Ross returned for only 10 games and suffered a meniscus tear on his right knee, which was reimbursed again for the season.

Ligament torn; pain on the right Achilles tendon; right knee surgery, reimbursement again; sprain of the left ankle; strain on the ankle; strain on the left ligament torn, soreness on the left knee; pain on the left knee joint; meniscus torn, orbital fracture; sprain of the left foot, right tendonitis; sprain of the knee. Legs soreness on the right tendonitis disease; adductor spraining spraining; elbow pain; spraining of the back, back spasm; spraining of the left ankle; injury on the right foot, meniscus torn.

The injury made everyone lose confidence in Ross, including himself.

When he was traded by the bull, he cried bitterly.

"Everything I have ever had drifted like smoke in a blink of an eye..."

Fortunately, God did not completely abandon him, nor did he give up on himself.

On the night of 50 minutes, Ross pulled himself up from the floor. He cried again. What should have been a very relaxed thing, but now it has become a gift from God.

He finally accepted all the beauty and suffering God gave him, and the rose bloomed again.

"As I said, I can bear such pain 10 more times. As long as I can still play hard and play games, I will spend the rest of my life doing this."

Of course, the misfortunes that Zhou Jing knew were a long time later. Derek Ross is still the pride of heaven who is about to lead Memphis University to return to the NCAA finals stage.
