Seven hundred and ninetieth eight chapters forced crossing

After the Jiangxin Island in Beixinzhou was captured by the Taiping Army, the Qing Guazhou Water Camp was forced to shrink in the port and was no longer able to compete with the Taiping Army for control of the Yangtze River.

After losing the imminent worry of crossing the river by the Qing army in Jiangbei, Zhou Shixiang decided to resolve the Qing army in Jiangnan and completely recover the Jiangnan. He made a decision to attack Liang Huafeng first, and then manage allegiance.

Zhou Shiying personally led the Iron Guard and commanded the Sixth Town that arrived in Nanjing, a brigade of the third town and more than 3,000 surrendered troops launched an attack on Changzhou from the direction of Danyang, Zhenjiang; the Ma Yaozi King and the auxiliary minister led the Xinyi Town to launch an attack from the direction of Liyang, Nanjing, to capture Yixing and Wuzheng, and then met with the main force to the city of Changzhou.

After receiving the news of the Taiping Army's massive invasion, Liang Huafeng did not choose to stick to Changzhou because he knew that Guan Qizhong from Suzhou could not come to save him. If he was trapped in Changzhou, the final outcome would be to sit and wait for death. After discussing with Erseihe, he led his troops to the important road leading to Changzhou, Benniuhe, and Renhei, took the initiative to fight, while Erseihei, insisted on Changzhou.

Liang Huafeng could no longer care about the Taiping Army attacking from Liyang. His only chance now is to defeat the Taiping Army coming from Zhenjiang. In this way, it is possible that when the Taiping Army in Liyang was at the city of Changzhou, he could lead his troops back to aid.

In addition to the 4,000 main force of the Han army he brought from Nanjing, the Qing army that Liang Huafeng brought to Biniuhe, there were more than 3,000 young and strong Changzhou who were forcibly recruited. The Qing army also launched Latin all the way, and when they arrived at Biniuhe, there were more than 10,000 troops.

Liang Huafeng got one step first, and he ordered his subordinates to demolish the stone bridge on the Benniu River and divide their troops to guard the two ferries upstream and downstream, hoping to block the Taiping Army in Hexi.

After the sixth town of the Taiping Army arrived, the town general Suna observed the Qing army camp on the other side and ordered to immediately log and raft to cross the river. Because there were not many trees nearby, in order not to affect the army's crossing the river, the Taiping Army demolished hundreds of houses where people lived by the river just to obtain wood on the beams of the people's houses. This made thousands of people homeless and whispered.

After Zhou Shixiang arrived, he immediately ordered people to resettle these homeless people in Lucheng Town. Later, Zhenjiang Prefecture allocated special funds to rebuild houses for these people, and also gave two liters of rice and one qian of silver every day so that the people would not be frozen and hungry in the cold wind.

The sixth town was organized into hundreds of rafts, each carrying eight to ten people. Suna ordered a forced crossing, and the deputy general Eduo, a native of Manzhou, personally led his troops to cross the river.

After discovering that the Taiping Army forced the crossing, Liang Huafeng immediately commanded the Qing army to block the attack. The Taiping Army on the raft were all wearing double armor and had large shields on their backs. The Qing army lacked long-range attack artillery and could not stop the Taiping Army from forcing the crossing. In the end, after dozens of casualties, the Eduoduo crossed the Benniu River and then fought with the Qing army that was killed. With the large amount of sky-burning thunder carried, the Eduoduo dispersed the Qing army and occupied an open space on the east bank of the Benniu River.

At the same time, the second batch of Taiping Army crossing the river had reached the center of the river. Liang Huafeng knew that the Taiping Army could not be allowed to cross more troops, so he personally led his 800 Han cavalry to rush towards the Taiping Army on the river beach. Eduo led his troops to fight back to the desperate attack, and the sound of guns and explosions were endless. He blocked the two attacks of the Qing cavalry, which surprised Liang Huafeng, because the elite iron armored soldiers of the Zheng army that day had only lasted for a moment under his attack. The Taiping Army not only did not collapse, but instead repelled him twice, which made him frown and realized that he might not have the possibility of defeating the Taiping Army at all.

The sixth town was composed of the Qing army of Wu Liuqi's troops in Chaozhou and the captured militia. It was not one of the four old towns of the Taiping Army. At first, the combat effectiveness of the whole town was relatively low, but even the weakest troops became strong soldiers after going thousands of miles to fight. In Hunan, the sixth town was known for its barbaric and cruelty. During the period when the town was stationed in Jingzhou, it killed countless people. Under the guidance of the slogan "Kill everything and rob it all", the town created countless tragedies. The general Wang Tai (Sunahan's name) could make the children stop crying. Later, he went north from Guangdong to Jiangxi and rushed to Nanjing for thousands of miles. The weak soldiers would not appear in front of the Qing army at this moment. These first batch of crossing the river were elite soldiers among the elite soldiers, and it was natural for Liang Huafeng to encounter a nail.

The two strong attacks lost hundreds of cavalry, and Liang Huafeng did not dare to come back. He ordered his cavalry to attack the Taiping Army and suddenly roamed the horses when they approached the range of Taiping Army's muskets and bows and arrows, hoping to use this to lose the medicine and arrows of the Taiping Army.

Unexpectedly, the Taiping Army was not only brave, but also had strict military discipline. Without the orders from the officers, the soldiers would not fire a gun or shoot an arrow, and would not throw the powerful thunder out at all. After two times, not only Liang Huafeng was discouraged, but the Qing cavalry were even more discouraged, because no matter how fierce they were, the Taiping Army ignored them. If they had the courage to move forward, there would be guns immediately.

"Sir, you can't fight like this. If you do this, your horsepower will be exhausted!"

Liang Huafeng shook his head, knowing that this could not continue. In his sight, the second group of Taiping troops crossing the river had already reached ashore, which made the number of Taiping troops crossing the river reach more than a thousand, and it was impossible for the Qing army to destroy them.

Liang Huafeng shook his head, and the Qing army shook his head even more.

On the west bank, the Taiping Army was still organizing the crossing of the river with great fanfare. As soon as the raft came back from the other side, the Taiping soldiers who were lined up to prepare immediately rushed onto the raft, behaved in an orderly manner without any confusion. The red military flag was in the middle of the river and swam in the wind on both sides of the river.

I don’t know if it was deliberately done, the Qing army surrendered in the former North Xinzhou who were shaking the rafts were all working hard, shouting in unison, and slashing the wooden pulp in their hands, making the rafts go hand in hand, just like a dragon boat racing!

Today, I’m afraid I can’t stop them!

The morale of the Qing army had long been wiped out. Even Liang Huafeng himself had no intention of fighting the Taiping army, and he had already developed the desire to retreat.

Liang Huafeng wanted to leave, but Zhou Shixiang would not let him go. The banner of attack was fought, and the Sixth Town on the other side immediately turned from the defensive to the offensive.

The Taiping Army roared and rushed straight to the Qing army, and the two armies fought bloody battles. The Taiping Army crossed the river jumped from above before the raft was docked, and rushed up the shore with knee-length river. The Taiping Army's offensive was like a tide, and waved forward one after another, without giving the other party a chance to breathe!

Liang Huafeng could not withdrew. If he evacuated at this moment, he would be defeated. The tens of thousands of people he brought would probably only be the hundreds of cavalry who could return to Changzhou with him.

"kill!"

Liang Huafeng gritted his teeth to meet him, took out the courage to attack Zheng's army that day, and rushed forward. The Ming and Qing dynasties were fighting and fighting, and their lives disappeared without stopping.

More than an hour later, the battlefield fell silent.

The Qing army was defeated, and Liang Huafeng ran away.

On the river beach, the bloody smell was so strong that even the wind could not blow away. The bodies were piled up after pile, and the Qing army knelt on the ground.
