286 Super luxury tax(2/2)

Dolan is the boss of the American Cable Television Systems Company, and is rich and generous.

In a word, no shortage of money.

In the 2003-04 season, the Knicks paid a luxury tax of $39.9 million.

Last season, the Knicks paid another $37.3 million in luxury tax.

You should know that the player cap last season was only $49.5 million.

So rich!

The alliance claims to curb this situation and will introduce super luxury tax rules.

Super Luxury Tax: If a team exceeds the luxury tax line for three consecutive years, they will be punished more severely than before.

First, if a team pays super luxury tax, their penalties will no longer be more than 1 cent, but they will pay a luxury tax of 1 cent.

$1 to $5 million, 1 cent pays a luxury tax of 2 cents.

$5 million to $10 million, pay a luxury tax of 2.5 cents for 1 cent.

$10 million to $15 million, pay a luxury tax of 3 cents for 1 cent.

$15 million to $20 million, pay a luxury tax of 3.5 cents for 1 cent.

...

And so on.

Second, for teams that pay super luxury tax, all players' income will be confiscated by 20%.

NBA originally had hosting rules.

At the beginning of the season, 10% of the player's income will be handed over to the league.

If the team's salary does not exceed the luxury tax line, it doesn't matter, it will be distributed to the players at that time.

But if the luxury tax line is exceeded, the alliance will confiscate this 10%.

Each player's income will become less.

This will affect the players' mentality, which is used by NBA to restrict the bosses of each team so that they dare not spend money indiscriminately.

However, some bosses are rich and do not care at all.

If you confiscate 10%, then I wouldn’t it be better to give the players 10% more when I sign the contract.

And now, the alliance doubled the money.

If the boss wants to compensate the players, he has to pay 20% of the contract salary when signing the contract.

Some bosses are still rich and generous, 10% or 20% don’t care at all.

However, the team's total salary exploded!
