Chapter 1536: The Three-Three System at the Peak in the History of Light Infantry

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Almost as Okinlek and others turned their vision, several flares rose from the division's defensive position.

These flares rose like comets, emitting dazzling bright light illuminating half of the sky, instantly illuminating the area within a radius of more than ten kilometers like daytime.

Seeing this, Patton raised his eyebrows proudly, turned to look at Sun Fumin standing beside him and said, "General Sun, your Chinese army has always been good at night fighting, but there is no night in front of the American army, because we have enough flares to turn night into daytime."

The rich speak differently. Americans with rich family always have firepower when fighting, whether it is guns, ammunition, food, medicines, oil, etc., as much as they need.

"General Patton, please continue to watch, the result is more important than the process!"

Sun Fumin smiled slightly, with a mysterious expression of a good show still behind him.

"Okay, as you wish!"

Patton shrugged confidently.

Today's exercise project is a breakthrough battle between the airborne troops. The Chinese Expeditionary Force Airborne Division and the US Airborne Division simultaneously attacked a field defense position stationed by the US and the Chinese Expeditionary Force respectively.

In front of him, Patton was watching the exercise battlefield of the US military's defense and the attack of the Chinese Expeditionary Force.

Patton has long experienced the ability of the Chinese Hu Ben Expeditionary Force to fight, but the US military in front of him has a good advantage in defense and has strong enough defensive firepower.

Therefore, Patton was very confident about the results of the offensive and defensive exercises, and he didn't believe that the Chinese Tiger Army could capture the US military's positions from the front.

Stilwell, who was standing aside, smiled without saying a word and did not discuss the issue because he knew very well what would happen next.

"Ah, General Sun, what kind of attack formation are you doing?"

"Yes, why is it so strange!"

As expected, they were all the Allied generals such as Patton and Okinlek, who were all convinced that the Chinese Hub Expeditionary Force would pull out a scattered line to attack, and then they would suffer heavy casualties under the powerful firepower of the US military, and they would have difficulty walking until they were defeated.

However, I didn't know if I didn't look at it. I was shocked when I saw it. The scene that happened in front of me really made Patton and others refresh their views. The whole process was completely different from what I imagined.

In their inherent perception, whether it is **, Japanese, German or Soviet infantry, when they attack the enemy's positions, they basically rushed forward with one company, one battalion, and one regiment.

At most, the scattered line is opened to evade tactically during the charge, and there is no other trick.

But the Chinese Expeditionary Force Airborne Division was not like this, but had reached a new level.

I saw that the attack of the Chinese Expeditionary Force's Airborne Division had a strict triangular formation:

Three people form an attack team, and three attack teams form an attack sequence.

Then more than a dozen attack sequences were arranged in front of the US military formation, but less than a hundred people pulled out a width of several hundred meters. They had never seen such an attacking method before.

"General Sun, what kind of offensive formation is this?"

Patton was really confused and was completely stunned for a moment. Although he didn't know what the principle of this formation was, whether it was powerful or not. Just from the atmosphere in front of him, it made people feel amazing.

"General Patton, General Okinlake, this is the three-three-system offensive formation commonly used by our Tiger Army!"

Sun Fumin's lips curled slightly and said with a smug smile. "Please continue watching. After the exercise, I don't think I need to explain too much, you can find the answers yourself."

That's right, the current Airborne Division of the Hu Ben Expeditionary Force is showing the three-three-system offensive formation, the offensive formation of the peak light infantry!

The three-three system tactics first originated during the War of Resistance Against Japan, matured in the War of Liberation, and were widely used in the War of Resistance and Aid Korea. It is an infantry "squad assault" tactic in the infantry training outline.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Eighth Route Army lacked heavy firepower cover and often attacked the Japanese strong positions in dense formations, resulting in serious casualties.

In response to this situation, it is proposed that in the strategic focus of middle and senior commanders, the strategic focus is on concentrating superior forces (i.e. the famous "point and two sides"), low-level commanders should pay attention to appropriately disperse the density of troops to avoid the killing of dense enemy firepower, and emphasize close coordination, layer by layer, and alternate cover of attacks.

It is divided into three combat groups based on squads, with three people in each combat group. In order to facilitate mutual connection, it is generally arranged in three echelons.

The three-person combat team is in a triangular offensive formation, with each soldier clearly divided the work, and attack-cover-support. The squad leader, deputy squad leader, and team leader each lead a combat team to operate.

When the combat team attacks, two soldiers are in front and the team leader is in the back, forming a triangular formation. Three combat teams form a combat squad, and three combat squads form a combat group. When attacking, they are in a "scattered line" formation.

When the combat squad is launched, soldiers change the combat formation at any time according to the instructions of the team leader or squad leader. After the combat group is expanded, they use "spoken language", "sign language", "bugnus" or "radio" to convey tactical instructions. A battle group with a total of 27 people can fully expand to cover a 800-meter-wide front line.

"I bought it!"

"That's fine?"

Patton, O'Ginlek and others were all aroused of great interest, staring at the telescope with their eyes fixedly, and constantly adjusting the focal length, trying to absorb the entire battlefield into the telescope's field of view.

But this is futile, because the Expeditionary Army soldiers who appeared in his vision at the same time would never exceed nine, that is, at most three combat groups at the same time.

Each group has three people, and they are very skillful in tactical cooperation with each other.

Before one person advances, the other person will definitely make a feint to attract US firepower, while the other person in the group will provide fire support from the rear.

In this case, the US military's machine gun firepower is often sloppy and it is difficult to achieve effective firepower shooting.

Even if the machine gunners react in a timely manner, they often have to consume hundreds or even thousands of bullets to "stack" a Chinese soldier.

"How could this happen? Are all the idiots burning their heads?"

Patton saw through a telescope that the Bronning heavy machine gun on the front of the US military had already been smoked, and then the two Chinese soldiers were fired and forced to withdraw from the exercise.

The attacking side continued to advance like a rainbow, but the US defensive forces, which had the dual advantages of geographical advantage and firepower, retreated step by step, the soldiers were constantly overturned, and the defense line was constantly broken through head-on.

The three-three offensive tactics are called the peak of light infantry tactics. They are by no means fake, but a hard truth that comes from hard work.

As the saying goes, the layman watches the excitement and the experts see the tricks. Patton can now be regarded as a veteran of a long battle formation. The result of this confrontational exercise in front of him can naturally be clearly predicted.
