Chapter 1639 Ultimate Killer

Although history does not exist if and it is impossible to start over again, we can indeed sit down and reminisce and discuss some processes.

I have to say here that if the atomic bomb hadn't fooled the Japanese, the final outcome of World War II would have been a little different.

First of all, the Americans will definitely not be able to accept 500,000 casualties, so even though the US military formulated the "Olympia Plan" and killed Japan at all costs.

But it is even more difficult to become a reality.

Because they carefully studied the consequences of landing in Japan, according to the algorithm on the Pacific islands and reefs, the United States may sacrifice one to three million soldiers to completely destroy Japan.

However, the Soviet Union had no ability to land on Japan's mainland and then occupy the entire territory of Japan.

In August 1945, Japan also had 4 battleships, 6 aircraft carriers, 11 cruisers, 41 destroyers and 59 regular submarines.

Among them, one aircraft carrier, three cruisers, 3 destroyers, and 12 submarines can be launched immediately. Other ships will take 2-3 months to repair.

The Soviet Navy had more than 8,800 ships, but basically all of them were coastal and inland boats. There were not many real warships, and all three battleships were products from the Tsar era.

In August 1945, the Soviet Navy encountered a Japanese Navy district squad, and was sunk by the Japanese army. One Soviet Navy submarine, two minesweepers, two torpedo boats and seven landing crafts.

What's more, in August 1945, Japan still had more than 10,000 fighter jets in its local area, although most of them were suicide special attack aircraft.

The Japanese Air Force suffered heavy losses in World War II, with more than 30,000 fighter jets in combat, and the US military also lost 27,000 fighter jets in the Pacific.

The strength of the Soviet aviation force is generally not as strong as that of the US HNA. Therefore, if the Japanese aviation force cannot be suppressed, how can we ensure that the landing is successfully carried out?

What's more, in August 1945, the entire Soviet navy and transport ships did not have the strength to transport an armored army by sea, and Japan had more than 4 million troops and 800,000 tons of ammunition to defend.

Not to mention that it is impossible to occupy the Japanese mainland, it will be very difficult to even destroy the Soviet army of the Japanese Kwantung Army.

Before the end of World War II, the Soviet military reached its peak, while the Soviet Union's economic situation became unprecedentedly bad. They needed the most rest and recuperation rather than continuing large-scale military wars.

Moreover, in the Far East, the Soviet Union's transportation capacity and logistics supply capacity were difficult to meet the long-term struggle with more than 700,000 Kwantung Army.

As for the Chinese Army, let alone, it was still in a passive defense until 1945, and it was constantly losing cities and land, so it was impossible to end the war in a short period of time.

As for the current time and space, the overall situation is not much different. Although Yang Fan is a system, if there is no atomic bomb, the Anti-Japanese War in front of him will definitely be a long-term and arduous historical task.

But then again, the world is in a vast and unparalleled situation, and there will not be so many ifs, and the historical trajectory is also steadily advancing in the established direction.

On June 22, 1945, the US military occupied Okinawa Island. The craziest and most tragic battle on the Pacific battlefield during World War II finally came to an end.

During the Battle of Okinawa, the US military invested a total of 240,000 troops, and eventually captured Okinawa Island at the cost of more than 20,000 people killed, injured more than 55,000 people, lost 763 aircraft, and sunk 36 ships and injured 368 ships.

The Japanese army defended the island ended in failure. Only more than 7,000 people were captured in the 120,000 troops, the rest were killed in battle, and 783 aircraft and 16 ships were lost.

In addition, about 100,000 residents died on the island.

This battle was the largest casualties in the Pacific battlefield of the US military. Since then, the US military gave up landing on Japan's mainland and instead used atomic bombs to bomb Japan's mainland forcing Japan to surrender.

In 1938, Hahn successfully cracked the uranium nucleus into two large pieces, shocking the global scientific community, and the atomic energy era began.

In 1942, the US President decided to establish an atomic bomb research institute, located in New York, code-named "Manhattan Project".

This project invested US$2.2 billion and invested more than 500,000 manpower.

It was not until early July 1945 that the "Manhattan Project" that Americans spent more than $2 billion finally developed three atomic bombs, named "Big Boy", "Little Boy" and "Fatty Boy".

At 5:24 am on July 16, 1945, the United States conducted the first nuclear test in human history on a 30-meter-high iron tower in the Trinity Test Site in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

The "Big Boy" plutonium charge weighs 6.1 kilograms, and the Tintie equivalent is 22,000 tons.

During the experiment, the nuclear explosion generated a high temperature of tens of millions of degrees and tens of billions of atmospheric pressure, causing a 30-meter-high iron tower to melt into gas and form a huge bomb crater on the ground.

The smoke and dust rising from the nuclear explosion is like clouds hanging in the sky, which is extremely terrifying.

Within a radius of 400 meters, sand and stone were melted into yellow-green glassy substances.

Within a radius of 1,600 meters, all animals died. The power of this atomic bomb is nearly 20 times larger than scientists originally estimated.

The nuclear explosion experiment of the "Big Boy" shocked the world and also marked the end of World War II.

On July 26, the United States, Britain and China issued the Potsdam Proclamation, an ultimatum-like announcement to Japan, urging Japan to surrender quickly and unconditionally.

This announcement has 13 articles, which announce that the allies' war against Japan will continue until Japan completely stops its resistance, and the Japanese government must surrender immediately.

The announcement also stipulates the conditions for allies to accept Japan's surrender, namely, eradicate Japanese militarism, occupy Japanese territory, implement the Cairo Declaration, disarm Japanese troops, punish war criminals, ban military industry, and other matters.

The release of the Potsdam Proclamation caused great panic among the Japanese ruling groups, and then Japanese Prime Minister Kantaro Suzuki held a cabinet meeting for emergency discussions.

Faced with the "strict conditions" issued by the allies, the Japanese cabinet was really unacceptable, and finally decided to ignore the Potsdam Proclamation, always follow the established fundamental policy, resolutely move forward to complete the Greater East Asian War, and refuse to surrender.

The same recipe and the same taste, facing the stubborn Japanese militarist government, the Allies can only use the ultimate killing weapon: the atomic bomb!

On August 2, 1945, the 20th Air Force Command of the U.S. Army stationed in Guam issued a secret order, ordering the 509th Hybrid Flight Brigade of Tinyan Island to carry out the mission of dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima.
