Act 202. Weird Safros

While Reiner spent his time understanding the spell models he needed, he was not disturbed by other work. The office was very quiet throughout the afternoon, and everyone was doing their own things, and no unexpected happened.

A bell sounded represents the arrival of five o'clock in the afternoon and the end of the day's work. Igor packed up early, and got up and left as soon as the bell sounded. Roger seemed to be still in his laboratory. Perhaps he would leave directly until the experiment was over.

Director Pasival did not communicate much with Reiner today. When he was about to get off work, he went upstairs to attend a meeting and has not returned yet.

Hannah slowly packed up the information on the table, as if she was thinking about some incomprehensible question. When she walked out, she happened to bump into Savros.

Crazy-

Since Hannah bumped into Saffros, he took a step forward and a bunch of cards in his hand that were unknown for use were scattered all over the ground, which was very spectacular.

"Ah, sorry."

Hannah knew she had done something wrong and wanted to use the mage's hand to pick up the card on the ground, but Safros reached out to stop her.

"Forget it, I'll do it myself. These cards have order requirements, and you can't do it."

Safros sighed, then bent down, picked up one of the cards with his hands, and put them on the table like a child who was caring for him.

Seeing this, Hannah didn't say much and left the office in shame.

Reiner was originally packing up his information. He saw Savros picking up the cards one by one, and after carefully confirming them, he classified them on the table. He didn't know what exactly needed to use this inefficient method to collect them.

Curiosity prompted Reiner to stand up, and he walked to Safros and leaned over to pick up a card.

The card is the size of a palm, located in the upper left corner, and there is a word composed of words that Reiner does not recognize. The word is followed by a combination of common words that cannot be seen in the pattern. Below, there is a word written in the common words "Noun, Flame." and then down there is a sentence written in the unknown words, and a sentence that Reiner can understand.

——They raised a flame in the dark forest.

“Is this… word card?”

Reiner couldn't help but think of the words in the dictionary and asked subconsciously.

Safros stopped the movement in his hand, his face flushed, glared at Reiner, and then he snatched the card from Reiner with some excitement, and carefully placed it among the piles of cards on the table.

"Don't touch my stuff."

Safros whispered.

"Sorry, I have no other meaning..."

Reiner raised his hands and signaled that he was not hostile. He saw the piles of cards. Apart from the "flame" just now, the top one of the other pile was "run", and the first one of the other pile was "melancholy".

"Noun, verb, adjective... Could it be that Mr. Savros, is this a word card in some language?"

Reiner couldn't help asking, causing Savros to raise his head.

"Can you tell?"

He was obviously a little surprised. Although this was a very simple thing to understand, since he started working on this job, no one, either his colleagues or superiors, could understand him.

Those people simply don't want to pay attention to these things.

"Uh, this should be a noun, this is a verb, this is an adjective, and there are these, uh, sorry, I didn't learn grammar very well..."

Reiner pointed to the cards, making Savros's eyes shine.

"These are not common terms, right?"

Reiner looked at the word marked "fire", which was more complicated and more difficult to write than the common term.

“Serrafino.”

Safros said suddenly.

"The Serafino language, also known as the Serafino poetry language, is because its words have phonological rhymes, and when read together, it is like reading a poem."

He then picked up the card of "fire" that Reiner had picked up just now and said softly, obviously, this should be the words recorded on the card.

As soon as Savros spoke, Reiner felt that his temperament had changed. He suddenly changed from a short, hunched middle-aged man to a free and unrestrained poet.

Although the words he read were not understood by Reiner, they naturally had a certain rhythm, like a long-standing song.

“It sounds so nice.”

Reiner exclaimed.

"Actually, my pronunciation is not necessarily standard. After all, the work of certification is very difficult, and I can hardly find relevant records."

Safros murmured to himself.

"I have never heard of this language."

Reiner knew that the language in this world was not just a common language. The so-called "common language" was actually just the official language of the ancient magic empire. Since it was also a standard spell casting language, it was the most widely circulated. But in fact, the magic runes that every mage apprentice needs to learn is a language with a longer history, including many small countries, which have their own language.

"This is a semi-plane language. This semi-plane was discovered in the early days of the establishment of the ancient magic empire. Some mages took ordinary people to explore, but then, due to a series of disputes, the star gate leading to this semi-plane was blocked, and this semi-plane was isolated outside for five hundred years."

Safros had packed up most of the cards, and he sat down slowly with a card in his hand.

"When the connection is re-established, this originally barren semi-plane already has its own brilliant civilization. Their language has evolved into the Serafino poem. This is a unique language and the language closest to magic runes. If it can be successfully analyzed, people will have a further understanding of ancient history and a deeper understanding of the essence of magic."

Reiner nodded, it was like an archaeologist who analyzed ancient characters, but he soon became confused.

"But, Mr. Savros, why do you need to do these tasks alone? Since that semi-plane has formed its own civilization, then perhaps there may be corresponding information left."

He asked, in any case, it seemed like Savros was alone and no other wizard did similar work as him, which was so strange.

Upon hearing Reiner's question, Safros was silent.

After a long time, he sighed and continued.

"No, most of the literature on Serafino's poems has been lost and only a little has been circulated in the world."

"Why is this happening?"

Reiner didn't understand, but what Safros said next made him realize.

"Because the semi-plane where Serafino's poems were located collapsed shortly after the connection was restored, and the entire civilization was destroyed. The unprepared mages didn't even have time to rescue even a piece of documentary materials, and this was already ten years ago."

Savros was a little sad. In his statement, the rise and fall of a civilization was fleeting.

"Maybe you have guessed that collapsed half plane is called Midgar."

Reiner's eyes widened.
