Act 506. Data Ghost

At night, the Baltic half-plane, which had already fallen into autumn, was slightly bleak, and the dry sea breeze blew across the ship's side, causing the flags on the warship to flutter.

Although it had been night for a long time, the Dawn Trailing Wave did not fall asleep, but was brightly lit. You could see busy figures in its bridge. The four double-equipped main guns were facing the direction of the big void and did not dare to neglect at all.

During the day, Lord Alberton used a detector to conduct a series of detections on the Netherworld Gate located at the bottom of the large hole. In the end, a detector successfully avoided the attack of the invisible monster and contacted the Netherworld Gate.

But what happened next was surprising. The detector disappeared without a trace, and the Gate of Netherworld burst out with extremely strong light radiation. At the same time, the detector did not detect any abnormal phenomena that could destroy it.

Reiner noticed this and mentioned it. In the end, the mages believed that the detector might have passed through the Gate of Netherworld and came to another plane, so they could only wait for the return function that the Excellency Alberton said to take effect, and the detector returned safely from another plane.

The atmosphere in the conference room was a little nervous. The mages repeatedly watched the videos of other detectors, trying to find some clues that had not been discovered in the past, but Reiner stood by the window and looked at the sparkling sea under the moonlight.

He still couldn't understand why the detector would have a very high-intensity white light when it came into contact with the Netherworld Gate, and he didn't understand why according to the spectrum analysis, the energy emitted by the Netherworld Gate was extremely small.

The existing explanations always make Reiner unreliable. In his subconscious, there is always something unpredictable that is disturbing Reiner's mind.

This is an intuition. The mages who have long studied magic theory always have an intuitive feeling about some inferences that they cannot describe themselves. This is close to the fact that their brains have quickly carried out the derivation process when they come into contact with the theory, so they have made certain judgments.

"What's wrong?"

Field came to Reiner and asked softly.

"I feel that things are not that simple, and we should not only consider big empty things. The strange situation on the Storm Rose is also worth noting. All of this is connected and seems to confirm something."

Reiner shook his head, but he still couldn't capture the fleeting inspiration.

"I also find it a little strange, but it is too early to make any guesses now. In another hour, the return time set by Lord Alberton will be coming. We can see what new discoveries will be made at that time."

Field patted Reiner on the shoulder and said.

An hour passed quickly, and as midnight approached, the mages came to the wall again in front of the experimental table.

The twenty screens were still all missing words. Reiner adjusted the display to enlarge the interface of the No. 12 detector that successfully touched the Gate of Netherworld.

"According to my settings, if the detector does not encounter any situation, it will return to this plane at midnight."

His Excellency Alberton repeated what he had mentioned before. He looked at his pocket watch. At this time, less than five minutes before midnight, the entire projection screen was dark, like a huge hole that devoured everything.

Time passed by minute by minute until the moment midnight passed, all the mages gathered their eyes on the screen.

However, nothing happened.

The dark screen was silent, without any sign of change. His Excellency Alberton's face changed slightly, and he immediately closed his eyes to try to sense the traces of his detector.

After a while, he opened his eyes and shook his head.

"There is no feedback. It seems that the detector was either destroyed by the Gate of Netherworld, or was destroyed by some danger in the Gate of Netherworld."

The conclusion of His Excellency Alberton is regrettable, because it means that an exploration of their close proximity to the secret of the Gate of Netherworld ended in failure.

Afterwards, the mages waited for a while and confirmed that the detector would not react anymore, so they left one after another to prepare for the next day's work.

In order to ensure that the mages decided to send people to stay next to the detector's display screen, hoping that perhaps the detector had delayed the trip just because of some reason, and it would be possible to return to this world in the end.

Reiner took the initiative to apply and became the first mage to watch.

Under the moonlight, the Dawn Stepping Wave left a huge shadow on the sea. Reiner sat on the wall and looked back at the Dawn Stepping Wave. Subconsciously, he wanted to find the place of his room to see if the lights were still on.

Soon, he realized his behavior, smiled like a self-deprecatingly, and turned to look at the terrifying hole.

The reason why this huge void is scary is not because of its danger, but because of its unknowableness.

All the detection methods of the mages cannot understand any of the mysteries of this huge hole. For the mages, this is the deepest nightmare in the world at this moment.

Enemies can be eliminated and questions can be answered, but this huge void makes people unable to start.

Reiner stood at the edge of the wall, shook his head slightly, then sat on a chair, took out his academic papers from the storage bag to study.

He can be said to be an authoritative figure in the three fields of element, alchemy, and law. The necrotic system and astrology have also contributed considerably. The mechanical system is another research. However, such as the change system, there is no field that has been explained in modern magic theory, as well as majors such as historical archaeology, identification and production of magic props that rely on experience to accumulate, and Reiner has not stopped learning because of his promotion to the higher level.

The night was cold, but Reiner had the protection of a magic barrier and didn't feel it. He flipped the pages of the book, and only the sound of undulating waves were heard in his ears.

In this quiet night, Reiner suddenly felt something and raised his head.

Almost at the same time, the originally dark detector screen suddenly lit up.

Reiner hurriedly stood up and used projection spell to record all this.

I saw many displays appearing on the screen, causing the data to surge upwards, and soon occupied the entire screen. Before Reiner could contact the detector according to the method taught by His Excellency Alberton and control it to return, he heard a beep, and the screen immediately went black, as if nothing had happened.

“What’s going on?”

While using short-distance communication spells, Reiner informed several of you, and activated the screen again to see the data you just obtained.

However, when Reiner opened the screen again and tried to find the reading just now, he was surprised to find that all the data of the No. 12 detector was in the state when he contacted the Gate of the Netherworld!
