Act 54. Annual Meeting

With several fireworks flying, the 305th annual meeting of the Mercury Balance was officially held. The mages who received the invitations entered the mansion on the banks of Lake Wagner from the main entrance. Near the gate of the mansion, countless low-level mages looked at the priests who had only seen them in books and papers in the past.

"That's Mrs. Maria. Oh my God, she's so young!"

"Is this the Lord Leedsmo, I just completed the analysis of Leedsmo's Hurricane Spear!"

"I can't believe my eyes. It's Lord Frederick Dmitry, the leader of the Mercury Balance!"

"Will Mr. Stanien come today? I admire him the most!"

......

The low-level mages whispered, and there was Peter among them.

He was dressed neatly, as if he was going to a party. Peter believed that good dress could increase his chances of being remembered. His eyes swept over the mercury balance members who kept entering the manor, but unexpectedly found a familiar face.

“Renner?”

Yes, the apprentice of the mage, Reiner, whom I met yesterday, was walking openly on the road to the mansion like other intermediate mages. Since there were not many mages in dresses, almost no one noticed the existence of such a mage apprentice.

In fact, it is not only mid-level mages that can attend the meeting. Occasionally, some of you will bring your students together, so it is not so surprising that there are 3, 2, and 1, 3, 2, and 1, 3, 3, 3, 3, 1, and 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3

But it was a bit incredible for a wizard apprentice.

"Hey man, are you going to the wrong place?"

Peter's call made Reiner notice, and he came closer and heard Peter's inquiry.

"Go to the wrong place? The academic conference should be held here. I asked the hotel waiter."

Reiner glanced at the map marked for him by the waiter in his hand and confirmed that he had not taken the wrong path.

"The academic conference is of course held here. I mean the adults who attended the conference are leaving there. You should come to my side, otherwise you will be driven out by the guards."

Peter kindly reminded that the guy who tried to get away with it in the past was ruthlessly thrown into Wagner Lake, which could be said to be a very miserable ending.

"Uh, but I have to attend the meeting."

Reiner said, not only Peter, but the people around him turned to look at Reiner when they heard Reiner's words, staring at Reiner as if they were looking at some rare creature.

"At the meeting, are you not kidding, Reiner?"

Peter's first reaction was that the other party was teasing him. He confirmed again that the mage apprentice in front of him was indeed an apprentice of the mage who had not yet obtained the rank.

"I'm not kidding, Peter."

Reiner took out the invitation from his pocket, and the letter with the mercury balance logo shook his eyes in the sun, and Peter widened his eyes with disbelief.

A mage apprentice was invited to attend the annual academic conference of mercury balances???

"I won't say anything, I have to enter quickly, Peter, we will have a chance to chat in the evening."

Reiner didn't say anything more, but hurried to the gate and among the crowd queuing up to enter the venue.

Peter stared at the other party away. Before he could come to his senses, he heard the people next to him come over to ask.

"You know the person just now?" "Is he a student of his Excellency?"...

Faced with these questions, Peter thought for a moment, cleared his throat before speaking.

"Ahem, actually, he is my best friend, and we know him..."

......

The mages belonging to the mercury balance seem to have long been used to the scene of being occupied by low-level mages on both sides of the road. They came to the gate and took out their respective invitation letters. Several Fourth Ring Mages were responsible for the inspection at the door, who were carefully checking the invitation letters of the guests.

In the past, there were incidents of insults being stolen and impersonated. Fortunately, the man just wanted to listen to the research results of advanced mages rather than attacking them, but the impact was still very bad. Since then, the security work of academic conferences has been greatly strengthened to prevent similar accidents.

Anton is one of the mages responsible for reception. He has just joined the Mercury Balance for less than a year and has been able to do this job entirely by his teacher’s affection. You must know that the mages responsible for reception have much more opportunities to contact with the high-level mages. If you are lucky enough to be appreciated, your future will be limitless.

"Please come in, Lord Levi."

Anton had just received a fifth ring mage and turned to look at the next visitor, but found that the other party had no sign of showing his rank, and he was like a mage apprentice.

"Master Apprentice? I think you came to the wrong place."

He said as politely as possible, looking up and down at the handsome apprentice.

"Well, this should be the venue for the Mercury Balance Academic Conference, right?"

The visitor was Reiner, he confirmed.

"Yes, but only invited mages can attend this meeting."

Anton was already a little impatient because there were several people behind Reiner. If he read correctly, there would be a Sixth Ring Road mage.

"Then I meet the criteria."

Reiner took out the invitation letter that he had held in his hand, which made Anton feel unresponsive.

"Uh, I'll take a look."

He took Reiner's invitation letter and confirmed that the information above was indeed owned by himself.

Is this really a student trained by someone in advance?

Anton's mind was very fast and his attitude changed immediately.

"Well, indeed, this is a formal invitation. Please enter. The venue is in the straight-by-turn mansion. I am Anton Ferrier. Please forgive me for my misconduct just now. Everything is for your safety considerations. I am very happy to serve you."

"It doesn't matter."

Reiner took the invitation letter handed back by the other party, replied naturally, and walked into the manor openly.

After passing the garden walkway, he entered the mansion, followed the flow of people to the conference hall, and found his seat close to the walkway and sat down.

The conference hall is more like an auditorium, with mages already sitting in most of the seats. They either talk in a low voice or read the books they brought, and more often they read the conference catalog distributed by the conference venue, which are the summary of the works of the mages who will speak at the conference.

Naturally, Reiner also got one, but before he could open it, he heard the two mages beside him whispering.

"Did you know? I heard that this meeting was a major discovery, and it was actually proposed by a low-level mage!"

“What is it?”

"I don't know, I heard my teacher say that, and he only knew about it after hearing a few of yours chat."

"A low-level mage can make a discovery that is sufficient to mention at this meeting. Is another Lord Alberton about to be born?"

As the two said, one of them noticed Reiner's apprenticeship, but out of politeness, they only mentioned it and did not continue to discuss it.
