016. Hogwarts
Lynn pinched his smooth chin and before he could carefully feel the changes in his brain and the newly obtained title, he heard Hagrid say loudly.
"Only four people can sit on a boat!"
He pointed to a row of boats docked by the Black Lake and repeated again, "Note! Each boat cannot exceed four!"
As he said that, he took the lead in jumping into a small boat.
Lynn boarded a boat with three other little wizards he didn't know.
Soon, Hagrid looked around for a week and saw that the freshmen were already on the boat, he gave orders to all the boats like a general:
"Okay, let's go now."
The boat automatically slid across the Black Lake without wind.
There were two men and one woman on the boat where Lynn was sitting. Their brows were twisted together, their lips were tightly pursed, their faces were pale and they looked very nervous.
Only Lin En was in a relaxed mood and had the leisure to dial the lake.
The new title looks quite good. Although there are some side effects, this side effect can be completely avoided. At least it is better than the previous title that insults others' character.
The only drawback is that the name is a bit ugly.
He lifted up a handful of lake water and approached it before he realized that the lake water of the Black Lake was not actually black in the true sense, but dark green.
"Are you not worried at all?" The girl with two small braids and a slightly freckled face asked him in confusion.
Lynn blinked: "What are you worried about?"
"The branch test," said a boy. "They have some special means to distinguish which students belong to which college, and according to people who have experienced it, this process makes them reluctant to recall it for the rest of their lives."
Only then did Lynn remember that Hogwarts still had such a tradition.
But it was not his fault. After all, it was almost twenty years since he read the Harry Potter series of books, including this life, and he may not be able to remember some details.
Lynn looked at them innocently.
"I have been living in a normal society before, and I have almost no knowledge of these things in the magic world."
Lin En looked so calm and composed. The three little wizards on the same boat were originally looking forward to him as an insider who knew some inside information. He could reveal the rumor to them in private, but he didn't know more than them, and he was suddenly disappointed.
"Your parents are all Muggles?" Another boy looked at him suspiciously.
Lynn nodded calmly: "If the muggles you say refer to ordinary people who don't know magic, then I guess they should be."
The boy straightened his back, as if he was kind enough to give him some things about Hogwarts, but his tone was filled with a hint of contempt.
"Then you can't be assigned to Slytherin. Hogwarts has four academies in total. Slytherin only accepts those with pure blood wizard blood and excellent magical talent, such as me.
For the other three academies, Ravenclaw values wisdom, Gryffindor values courage, Hufflepuff values loyalty, well, my parents told me that the criteria for choosing students in this academy are very relaxed. It is said that most Muggle family wizards who do not have much qualifications come from here, and you are probably assigned to this academy."
Lynn, who is not likable, has long been used to seeing such unpleasant little brats in orphanages.
He shrugged his shoulders and said indifferently: "I can go anywhere, but I heard the wizards in Diagon Alley say that the best college in Hogwarts should be Gryffindor now?
It is said that our principal was from this academy, and Slytherin's reputation was not very good. They all said that there are many black wizards there."
The boy obviously came from a pure-blood family with blood discrimination. He was stabbed by Lynn so little, and his face turned red and wanted to argue.
But he muttered quietly for a long time and could not think of a rebuttal.
This little episode was not taken seriously by Lynn, because they had passed the Black Lake soon and arrived on the other side of the lake.
Hagrid led them out of the boat, walked together to the oak door on the front of the castle, and then knocked heavily on the wooden door with his fist twice as big as an ordinary person.
The door was immediately opened from the inside.
Professor McGonagall, who always looks serious, stood straight in front of the freshmen.
As soon as he saw Professor McGonagall, Lyn couldn't help but think of his bold and arrogant behavior of petting cats. Although he knew that Professor McGonagall didn't care, he still shrank his neck guiltily.
"I brought the first-year freshman, Professor McGonagall."
Professor McGonagall nodded and glanced at the little wizards. His stern eyes made many freshmen who saw her for the first time daunted.
"Thank you, Hagrid, let them leave it to me below."
The little wizards followed the vice-principal, who was known for his seriousness, to a small compartment in a castle. After Professor McGonagall gave them a routine lecture every year, he left to prepare for the branch ceremony.
A group of freshmen who had been suppressed for a long time were immediately in an uproar.
Some of them already knew each other on the train, but now they have no professor's supervision and immediately started to discuss it.
Lynn first eavesdropped on some of their words with his ears, but lost interest after discovering that it was basically some unreasonable suspicion about the branch ceremony.
After completing the main task of Hogwarts, the system in my mind released a new task.
[Main task: Received award from the professor of the corresponding course.
Reward: Correct magical talent and effect +1]
Lynn lowered his head and thought about the new tasks given by the system. The system expanded the scope of praise, like Professor McGonagall's previous praise that could improve his talent in transforming techniques by just one compliment from his feelings.
So it seems that it is not difficult to complete this task. As long as you are a little more active in the classroom after school starts, it is basically enough.
What made Lynn care about is whether you can use this method to repeatedly brush points?
Although it’s a bit suspicious of not wanting to eat, you can still try it.
Professor McGonagall returned here soon, and she made the freshmen line up, then led them out of the compartment, to the Hogwarts auditorium and the restaurant.
The hall was very lively. Students from four different colleges sat at four long tables, and the professors were all sitting on a long table on the platform. Lynn saw Professor Fox at a glance among the professors.
He was still wearing the long windbreaker that was extremely inconsistent with his wizard identity, and he also had a tie inside.
Fox also noticed Lynn's gaze and waved to him with a smile.
After staggering his eyes with Professor Fox, what Lynn cares about most was the one sitting in the middle of the professor's long table, wearing a big white beard and strange half-moon glasses on his face. He looked like a kind old man next door, smiling: Albus Dumbledore.
Without giving Lynndo the time to observe the most outstanding principal in Hogwarts history, Professor McGonagall led them to the platform, then moved out a bench and placed a dirty and torn hat on it.
After the famous branch hat sang its song happily, warm applause came from the five long tables, both students and professors.
For schools like Hogwarts, the opening of school is indeed something that makes all the young wizards happy. Among so many people present, the freshmen are not very happy.
After so nervous about the branch ceremony, it turned out to be so simple as wearing a hat, no one would feel good.
But this finally made them feel relieved. After all, wearing a hat is not a difficult thing.
Although the hat looks dirty and sings strangely.
"Mion Agnes!"
Professor McGonagall called out the first little wizard's name.
A black-haired boy stumbled all the way, sat on the four-corner bench under the gaze of all Hogwarts students and professors, and put on the hat.
In full view of everyone, the Sorting Hat quickly shouted: "Ravenclaw!"
Suddenly, a burst of cheers rang out on Ravenclaw's long table.
Lynn's palm was sweating slightly.
It is definitely fake to say that he is not nervous in this environment. He is very close to Gryffindor's long table, and you can even hear a senior Gryffindor wizard muttering annoyedly. He lost the bet on the first freshman admission assignment.
"Linn Belloke."
Lynn's name was third. He took a deep breath and then trotted to Professor McGonagall.
He had not lie before, and he really had an indifferent attitude towards what college he was assigned to. He had no prejudice against Slytherin and was not too enthusiastic about Gryffindor. He yearned for Ravenclaw's wisdom and agreed with Hufflepuff's loyalty and low-keyness.
All he was nervous about was the hat itself.
Lin En couldn't control the brain closure technique rewarded by the system, so he didn't know whether it worked or not.
