Chapter 28
Chen Ting ate the restaurant next to the city hall without getting what he wanted - he noticed it since he first came. He thought that his performance was not obvious, but he never thought that he had been seen through by Lian Jue.
Because of the differences in dietary habits, the taste was not as good as expected, but fortunately it was light, Chen Ting still had a very happy meal. But after taking a few bites, Lian Jue put down the tableware, which made him feel a little disgusted.
The weather was not good, and it started to rain as he had guessed. The rain was not heavy, but the driver who was waiting at the door didn't know where he went. Lian Jue made two calls before answering the call. He smiled and said on the phone without any professional ethics and said he would be back soon.
Chen Ting Wei guessed that Lian Jue had been used to being generous since childhood and had never treated him like this. He was very dissatisfied with the unprofessional behavior of the driver arranged by Lin Chen. Because Lian Jue looked very serious after hanging up the phone, which made Chen Ting Wei feel bad as if he had done something wrong.
After about twenty minutes, the rain slowly became heavier.
The two of them stood at the entrance of the restaurant without saying a word. Chen Ting did not look at the tiny crystals sandwiched in the raindrops, which had melted on his sleeve, which had not yet formed snowflakes. He was ecstatic for a moment, and later noticed that Lian Jue's gaze was also falling on his sleeve.
Chen Tingwei just raised his head, wondering if he wanted to say something, the driver was back.
The driver smiled on his face, but in fact he explained without sincerity that the car could not be parked here, so he left the car farther away. Lian Jue did not expose his lies and stopped talking since he got in the car.
Not long after I returned to the hotel, someone brought a laptop. Lian Jue took the computer and went back to the room. Maybe he had to work.
Chen Tingwei's nose was a little stuffy. I wonder if he had a cold. He rubbed his nose and returned to the room, and took off the ring he had taken all the way. He didn't have the habit of wearing things on his hands, and the ring that was not as big as the size was too big, so it was uncomfortable to wear it. He wrapped the ring in velvet cloth and put it in the pocket of the coat he hung on the hanger.
The sleet turned completely into snow in the evening. Chen Ting sat outside in the floor-to-ceiling window with a glass of steaming white water.
The white and soft velvet floating in the air fell down, and it seemed that it could not stop for a while.
The bedroom door was closed, and Lian Jue was answering the phone again. He replied to the other party with a very short syllable. After a while, he hung up the phone and walked out, saying to Chen Tingwei: "It's snowing, the flight tonight has been cancelled. We waited for the snow to stop and went back."
Chen Ting didn't guess it, and said "Okay".
Lian Jue sat down on the sofa, took out his iPad from the coffee table and looked at the catering page provided in the hotel service: "What do you want to eat at night?"
Chen Ting has lost interest in tasting local food before he can: "It's OK."
Lian Jue seemed to have a premonition of his answer. Before he finished speaking, he chose the dishes and called the room service staff to come and deliver the meal.
Chen Ting didn't hear him emphasizing "less oil" and "lightness" to the other end of the phone. He kept flowing into his fingertips. He held the warm water in his hand and took a sip of it gently, emptying his brain, looking back to the window through the heat lingering in front of him.
After dinner, the two of them went back to their rooms. Chen Ting slept very early at night.
Unexpected situations include heavy snow that had not stopped early the next morning, and low fever that had not yet swept away from Shen Ting.
Chen Tingwei is not particularly prone to illness, but he has been outrageously sick since he came here. I don’t know if it was because of the poor resistance after pregnancy, or if he could not adapt to this world lacking pheromones. It’s like not being able to adapt to the local environment.
This scene is not as unbearable as last time when I was in heat, I felt cold.
His throat seemed to contain a ball of burning charcoal fire, and his eyelids became heavy. He closed his eyes and then sat up from the bed.
As soon as I cleared my throat, the door was pushed open from outside.
Lian Jue seemed to have just gotten up, wearing a nightgown provided by the hotel, walked over, put the water cup in his hand, and handed the disassembled capsules over.
Chen Ting was very cautious in taking medicine since he became pregnant. He took it and looked at it for a while in his hand as if he was studying. Lian Jue said on the side that he had consulted the doctor and there was no problem with controlling the dose. He swallowed the medicine in doubt.
"Have I slept for a long time?" Chen Ting was not worried about delaying the flight.
Lian Jue said "It's okay", and asked him if he wanted to have breakfast. Chen Ting didn't shake his head and said he had no appetite.
Lian Jue walked to the window and pulled the untie curtains and raised the temperature of the air conditioner in the room a few degrees: "If you feel uncomfortable, keep sleeping, the snow hasn't stopped yet."
Chen Tingwei said "hmm", and under Lian Jue's silent urging, he drank the warm water, handed the empty glass back to Lian Jue's hand, and looked up at him: "Thank you."
"Go to sleep." Lian Jue brought the door with him when he left.
The antipyretic medicine contains sleeping ingredients. Chen Ting fell asleep shortly after taking the medicine. But this sleep was not very comfortable. The glands on the back of his neck were swelling, and there seemed to be heat in his body, which made him dry mouth and dizzy.
I don’t know how long it took, a very faint fragrance penetrated into his nose. Someone seemed to say something in his ear. He was not very conscious and had time to feel the other person’s breathing and body temperature that was close to him.
The approaching breath seemed to have some wonderful ability to soothe pheromones that he became disordered by the fever. But it seemed that there was no intention to stay.
When this breath that made him feel comfortable gradually pulled away from him, he stretched out his hand blankly, instinctively trying to keep it, but he really held something between his fingers as if there was any substance.
Lian Jue lowered his eyes and looked at Chen Ting's hand that did not grasp his shirt sleeve.
He just walked past the door that was covered in vain and heard Chen Tingwei's rapid breathing sound, so he came in and took a look. Unexpectedly, Chen Tingwei was relied on in this way.
The lights were not turned on in the room, Lian Jue could not see his face clearly, and could not tell whether he was pretending to be asleep.
His tone was not too cold, but he just said to him in an explanatory tone: "Chen Ting, take your hand away."
The thin white hand was originally just the fabric on his cuffs. After his words, he became very hard to hold his wrist, as if he was deliberately opposing him, which caused Lian Jue to frown and call his name again.
Chen Ting said something in a low voice.
I didn't hear the secret clearly.
Chen Ting had not opened his mouth, licked his slightly dry lips, and Lian Jue leaned over to him with great compassion.
"Don't leave." Lian Jue heard Chen Tingwei say in a hoarse voice, and his tone seemed to be acting coquettish, "It's so uncomfortable."
Before Chen Ting woke up again, he felt light hitting his eyelids lightly. Before he opened his eyes, he heard the sound of the keyboard typing in his ears with a gentle and rhythmic sound.
Sure enough, a very dark warm light was lit in the room.
Lian Jue sat on the single sofa next to the window at the end of the bed, wearing the thin-edged glasses of gold wire that Chen Ting had seen in the villa before. The cold white fluorescence of the computer reflected from the lenses, and his eyes were focused on the computer screen, obviously noticing that Chen Ting had woken up.
Chen Ting didn't wake up and saw him in his room, and he was stunned for a moment.
Before he could get hysterical, Lian Jue's movement of typing on the keyboard with his hand paused for a moment.
Chen Ting closed his eyes quickly with guilt, trying to pretend that he hadn't woken up, but he didn't know that the slight movements under the quilt when he woke up had long been seen through.
The keyboard sounded again, and at the same time, there was a very light sound of Lian Jue: "Take out the thermometer."
Chen Ting, who was found sleeping, opened his eyes unwillingly and took out the thermometer that was already warmed by his body temperature from his armpit.
The lights were too dizzy, and perhaps because Chen Ting was not still dizzy, he could not see the mercury scale on it clearly after looking for a long time.
"How many degrees?" Lian Jue asked.
Before Chen Ting could speak, he realized that his voice was hoarse. He said it twice before making a very faint voice: "...I can't see clearly."
Lian Jue looked up and swept over. Chen Ting sat up halfway up without supporting the bed, holding a thermometer in his hand and struggling to identify the numbers on it.
Lian Jue's hand movements continued, and it took about half a minute before he stopped his work and walked over. He took off the thermometer from Chen Tingwei's hand, and raised his hand to unscrew the desk lamp at the head of the bed.
The clear vision made Chen Ting blush a little, thinking that he might be really not good at thinking about turning on the lights.
Lian Jue glanced at the thermometer and put it on the bedside table: "It's better."
At noon, Lian Jue sent someone to bring lunch. Chen Ting still had no appetite, so he only ate a little and said he was full.
After lunch, Lian Jue was still staying in Shen Tingwei's room. Seeing that he had no intention of leaving, Chen Ting called him without reminding him: "Mr. Lian?"
Lian Jue raised his eyes from the computer and looked over: "What's the matter."
Chen Ting didn't open his mouth and shook his head: "It's okay."
Lian Jue seemed to have something very important to deal with. Chen Ting was not good enough to disturb him, so he had to let him stay in the room and do what he had.
After lying in bed for too long, my cervical spine was a little sore, but Chen Ting still felt tired and didn't want to get out of bed.
He was doing nothing, leaning on the head of the bed, looking for a video on his iPad, putting on his headphones and starting to watch it.
At first I just found something to do to pass the time, but later I was attracted by the plot and became fascinated.
Before the video was over, one of the headphones was taken off. Chen Ting had not raised his head, and Lian Jue was standing by the bed.
"...What's wrong?" Chen Ting didn't look at Lian Jue.
Lian Jue put down a very thick stack of contracts: "You confirm it, and you will sign it if there is no problem."
"What is this?" Chen Ting did not pause the video and picked up the contract.
"Agreement of property distribution after marriage." Lianjue briefly summarizes, "Real estate, stocks, money."
Chen Ting paused his movements when he was about to read, and instinctively refused: "Mr. Lian, I don't need it..."
Lian Jue looked at Chen Tingwei with a strange look. After a while, he perfunctorily picked up an excuse that Chen Tingwei could hardly refuse.
"For the children."
Chen Ting was stunned for a moment and hesitated: "It's too early now, why don't you..."
Lian Jue's patience was visible to the naked eye, and he spoke almost imperatively, saying, "I signed it."
Chen Ting did not look at his frown, thinking that Lian Jue might really think that he is the kind of person who loves money very much.
He looked down at the agreement that seemed to weigh a thousand pounds on his legs, and did not read it much, signed it under Lian Jue's extremely oppressive gaze, and quickly handed it back to Lian Jue like a hot potato.
