Chapter Seventeen: The Second Land Unlocked

"What happened?"

Lin Xia, who was taking a nap in the thatched shed, quickly left the thatched shed.

"I don't know, it seems to be dad's voice." Su Tang shook his head.

The mother and daughter looked confused and hurried to the south to take a look.

When they arrived at the open space, Su Tang saw Su Guodong standing under a half-cut tree, and quickly went over and asked:

"Dad, what happened?"

"Husband, where are you injured?" Lin Xia also looked worried and stepped forward to check on Su Guodong.

"I'm not hurt." Su Guodong shook his head, looking heartbroken.

"The bone knife is broken and we can't cut down the tree. We have no tools. How can we build a wooden house now?"

Only then did Su Tang realize that he was holding two khaki objects in his hands. Upon closer inspection, he saw they were bone knives.

Lin Xia understood what was going on and was so angry that she pinched Su Guodong's waist:

"The howling was so scary, I thought something had happened!"

Su Tang hurriedly comforted, "It's okay, Dad, doesn't the elder brother still have a bone knife in his hand? Use that one first and think of a solution later."

At this moment, Su Shiwei, who had gone outside to cut down trees, also came back.

He carried a thick log and placed it on the ground with a bang. He showed the two bone knives in his hand and looked at the three of them with a dull voice:

"Now there's not one left."

Without bone knives, progress in building log cabins stalled.

The four people stared at each other.

Su Tang thought for a while and suggested:

"Otherwise, I'll go to the Gray Wolf tribe and see if there are any orcs willing to trade bone knives for fruit."

Just because you don’t have the tools, you can’t stop building a wooden house.

"No, the bone knife breaks too easily. Even if it is replaced, it won't take long." Su Shiwei shook his head and rejected the proposal in a gentle voice.

"Then what should we do? We can't chop it with our hands." Su Guodong felt that the future was bleak. He was still waiting to build a wooden house and start farming!

Su Tang blinked and looked at Su Shiwei who was not panicking.

"Brother, do you have any other ideas?"

Su Shi slightly raised his lips, smiled fondly, nodded and said:

"I can try to make a stone knife. I think the stones by the river should be useful."

"Son, is this possible? How do you make a knife out of stone? How long does it take to sharpen the blade?" Lin Xia looked confused.

Su Shiwei didn't explain too much and led a few people to the river.

The river water is crystal clear and there are many smooth and translucent stones at the bottom.

Su Shiwei knelt down, picked at it, picked up a stone larger than a palm, and threw it at the big stone on the river bank.

The stone that was supposed to be solid fell apart in an instant.

He picked up one of the thin stone fragments. One side was as sharp as a knife edge, while the other side was blunt.

"This kind of rock has a special structure and can easily form sharp surfaces after being broken open. It can be used as a stone knife or a stone axe." Su Shiwei explained while showing it to several people.

Tie a sharp stone to a wooden stick and it becomes a stone axe.

Although it is not as easy to use as modern axes, it is much easier than the previous bone knives.

"Brother, you are still awesome." Su Tang gave a thumbs up without hesitation.

Su Shiwei made a few more stone axes, picked out a few stone knives that came handy, and gave them to Su Tang and Lin Xia to use as knives. They could cut things or defend themselves.

The tool problem was solved, and Su Guodong could finally cut down trees and build a wooden house with peace of mind.

After a lot of trouble, Su Tang and Lin Xia were no longer in the mood to take a nap, so they guarded the hourglass and waited to pick apples.

Su Tang was bored, so he followed Lin Xia to learn how to weave baskets, and also made more containers that could be used to store things in the future.

During the years when Lin Xia was a housewife, she was bored at home. She learned almost everything from knitting sweaters, collecting shoes, making clothes, to various knitting crafts.

Now it comes in handy.

One afternoon passed, and the two of them weaved eight large baskets using vines collected in the forest.

Five rounds of apples were harvested on the farm. Su Tang went into the space to count the number. Excluding those taken out at noon, there were a total of sixty-five apples and ten gold coins in the warehouse.

It’s not enough to buy corn seeds.

Su Tang thought over and over again and decided to sell forty apples first and use fifty gold coins to unlock the second piece of land.

The more land you have, the more you can harvest.

If you plant another day tomorrow, you can sell corn seeds.

After eating apples for a day, Su Tang's mouth was watery. Thinking of the fragrant boiled corn and roasted corn... she couldn't help but swallow her saliva.

The life of primitive people is really not ordinary hard!

After leaving the farm, Su Guodong and Su Shiwei also came back. They cut down more than a dozen trees in the afternoon, and piled the large and small wood in the open space, preparing to dry the water in the sun for later use. This can prevent the wooden house from getting wet and being eaten by insects.

, more stable and hard.

Su Guodong didn't understand. Anyway, he did what his son said.

"Son, we cut down so many trees today, can we start building a wooden house tomorrow?" Su Guodong rubbed his dark hands with a look of anticipation.

"It's not enough, Dad, the house our family lives in is not small and needs a lot of wood." Su Shiwei quickly extinguished Su Guodong's expectations.

Su Tang looked a little funny at her father's impatient look.

"Dad, this is the home we are going to live in in the future. It must be built properly. We cannot rush it. What if my eldest brother wants to hurry up and the house is not built stably?"

As soon as Su Guodong heard this, he didn't dare to worry.

"My daughter is right, dad is not in a hurry, you have to build the house slowly!" He nodded repeatedly.

But don't let the house collapse while sleeping and the whole family burps again.

While there were two men guarding the house, Su Tang and Lin Xia went to the Gray Wolf tribe together.

I made an appointment with Lang Nini yesterday to change my milk at the same time today.

Lang Nini was the first orc to show kindness and help to Su Tang after she came to this world. Even if she discovered that the crops on the farm had special effects, she was still willing to exchange them with her.

When Su Tang arrived at the entrance of the cave, Lang Nini had already prepared the milk in advance.

"I thought you wouldn't come."

Seeing Su Tang coming, Lang Nini showed a gentle smile.

"How could it be possible? My cub still needs milk."

Su Tang could see that she looked better than yesterday, and even her smile became a little lighter.

As soon as he finished speaking, several short and childish wolf howls came from the cave, with a milky sound.

Wolf Nini was a little embarrassed, "My cub kept barking for some reason today."

When she talked about the cubs, her face was full of love.

Su Tang thought that she didn't hear the cub's voice when she came yesterday. She must have eaten the apple and had the strength to make a fuss.

"This is a good thing. It proves that the cub is healthy and in good health." It is better for the cub to be alive and kicking than to be sick.

After Su Tang finished speaking, she couldn't help but think of the five kittens at home.

They also ate apple puree, so why did they do nothing but sleep all day long?

Thinking that she had not visited the cubs a few times today and would not enter the hayloft if she could, Su Tang suddenly felt a trace of self-blame in her heart.
