After listening to the New Year's speech, Karan slipped out of the side door of the General Assembly Hall.

The grass outside is covered with fresh snow, the emerald green and silvery white blend into one, the colors are as bright as washing. The air is cold and fresh, and when you inhale it into your lungs, it feels indescribably refreshing.

Karan actually likes cold weather.

She feels that she is more awake in the winter, but always sticky and dry in the summer.

As she passed near the entrance of the underground garage, she was stopped by a familiar voice.

"Karan."

Karan turned around and saw Raphael in a white suit.

His hair has grown a little longer, and except for the slight curls at the temples, the rest of his hair seems to have returned to its innate straightness. They hang smoothly on his shoulders, as clean as snow.

"Aren't you going to the dance?" Karan asked in surprise.

"Aren't you my dance partner?" Raphael smirked - he was scolded a lot for this. His father even wanted him to take his fiancée home for Christmas.

Karan couldn't help laughing: "You didn't expose this, did you?"

"No, I said I invited you."

They were silent for a while on the snow-covered grass.

"Want to go for a ride?" Raphael said at last.

Karan followed him into the underground parking lot.

He drove the car onto the racing track, not very fast, and the car was fully heated.

Karan noticed his tired and depressed look.

"Do you think I can learn to drive?" She tried not to mention the campaign.

"Yes, but I can't teach you. And don't expect your father to teach you. He can't touch the steering wheel a few times a year."

The atmosphere in the car became cold again.

Raphael asked casually: "Why didn't you attend the school dance? Didn't someone invite you?"

"Your father flushed the invitation down the drain."

"Of course." Raphael glanced at her, his tone a bit sarcastic, "Of course he will..."

Karan said angrily: "I didn't fall in love behind his back!"

Raphael's tone was calm: "Aren't you and the man named Snow very close?"

"It's not an invitation from Constance! Didn't you see he has a dance partner?"

"Are you jealous?"

Karan hesitated: "No..."

Raphael chuckled carelessly.

Karan straightened his expression and told Raphael: "I don't like Constance. He sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable. But...but he invited me to the school dance before. After I refused, he said he also

Don’t go…”

Raphael nodded: "It turns out he brought another girl to the dance."

"Yes." Karan said depressedly, "Am I a little petty? Anyway, I refused. He can find someone else to participate... Why should I mind this?"

"Because he promised not to go. Karan, if you think about it in his shoes, I would be angry too."

Raphael turned a sharp corner and raised his hand slightly to hold Karan's arm.

He asked: "Who gave you the invitation?"

"Uh, Leo, do you know? The president of the Tower of Babel Society." Karan then clarified, "We have only met once. He wanted to take the opportunity to invite me to join Babel out of social courtesy.

Tower Management.”

Raphael had heard of this man.

A genius from the Department of Computer Science, he is low-key, mysterious and has leadership skills.

"Do you have his contact information?" Raphael asked sideways.

Karan nodded.

Raphael made a very sharp turn and turned back to school.

"what you do?"

Raphael didn't say anything. He made a call and said to the other end: "Send an evening dress and high heels to the school."

After hanging up, he threw the phone to Karan and asked her to send her the size.

"What are we going to do?" Karan asked.

"You go to Leo for the ball." Raphael said calmly, "I think that boy Constance likes you."

"But I..."

Raphael stepped on the accelerator again, and Karan was frightened.

She finally managed to catch her breath: "I can't dance!"

"Call Leo first, and I'll teach you later." Raphael sneered, "I'm not going to be the president of the student union anyway, so I have to deal with Snow first."

Karan still looked reluctant.

Raphael threatened: "I helped you recognize the invitation to the dance, you have to do something to thank me, right?"

When they arrived at school, their dresses and shoes were also delivered.

The size of the custom-made dress was still a bit off. Karan's dress was a little too big, and the lace neckline was very loose, so Raphael helped her clip it with a pin.

"You look beautiful," Raphael said politely.

Karan received a reply from Leo, saying that he was not at school but could arrive within half an hour.

Raphael took Karan directly to the dance floor and taught her the simplest waltz steps.

He said good-naturedly: "You only have to do one thing, watch my feet, avoid them and don't step on them."

I don’t know whether it was Raphael’s poor teaching or Karan’s poor learning, but she almost stepped on his feet every step of the way.

"Okay, I finally know how bad this idea is." Raphael said painfully.

Karan had no time to care about anything else. She was just like playing whack-a-mole, trying her best to dodge Raphael's steps.

Constance looked at them from a distance with complicated eyes.

But Raphael couldn't feel the sense of accomplishment. He felt that the instep of his feet was going to be stepped on.

After finally waiting for Leo to come over, Raphael finally got out and could admire Constance's gloomy face.

This senior from the computer science department rarely did any exercise, and Karan followed him as he moved at a very fast pace on the dance floor.

"Have you decided to agree to my request?" Leo asked in a low voice.

"This..." She was stuck.

Leo avoided her high heels very predictably: "It doesn't matter, you don't have to give me a definite answer. Let's start simple. How about you try to draft a plan first?"

Karan noticed that he had changed into a tuxedo, but the shirt underneath was slightly wrinkled.

There was a slight sweat on his forehead, probably from work in a hurry.

"Let's try it first..." Karan agreed thoughtfully.

Leo nodded: "Very good, I have inside information here."

Constance watched Karan and his president turning further and further away, and could only crane his neck to look.

He saw Leo leaning slightly and lowering his head towards Karan.

"Wait a minute." Constance quickly rushed out of the circle of student union cadres and walked towards them.

Raphael sneered, took his place, walked into the crowd, and took the hand of his dance partner with concern.

The other side.

"After Christmas, a ship will go out to sea at the Diamond Pier in the southwest of the capital, carrying more than twenty black-haired people we rescued from the slave farms." Leo took Karan's hand and gave it to her.

A USB flash drive, "The detailed information is in this. You can make a plan for me as quickly as possible. Let's try it first."

Karan tightened his hands.

Leo took her around again, and when Constance arrived, he let her go, then bowed and saluted.

"Thank you very much." He smiled, the light on his lenses was very dazzling.

Constance wanted to step forward to speak, but Karan had already hurried away with his collar hidden.

Constance heard her call: "Raphael, the dress you gave me is too loose! Give me the car keys quickly, I'm going to change it back!"

Constance stood stunned.

The dance lasted until late into the night.
