"I'm here to pick you up."
Of all the words Karan heard throughout the day, this was the only one that made her calm.
She got in the car and sat next to Siovel, one body away from him.
Siovel contacted Rebecca earlier and hoped that she would give Karan a test. When he asked about the test results this afternoon, he found that Rebecca had taken leave because of illness and did not go to the institute.
Xiovir could only adjust the internal surveillance to find Karan.
She did not go to class, but sat under a plane tree.
This is Karan, not Arnold.
Her absence from class was as rare as a meteor shower.
"I want to take a month off." Karan suddenly said in the car.
Xiovir thought he heard wrongly.
"You want to take a month off? By the way, where did you go this afternoon?"
Karan tightened his grip on his clothes.
She was as helpless as a child who was asked about her whereabouts by the teacher. She tightened her lip lines and did not dare to reveal the secret.
Xiovir relaxed his questioning attitude.
He lowered his head and came closer, lifted Karan's chin, and kissed the side of her face.
"Then let's rest for a while."
His breath was so hot that Karan couldn't help but turn his face away.
Xiovel leaned back a little and said calmly: "We will talk when we get back."
It's very quiet in the car.
Xiovir has an overwhelming sense of presence that can occupy the entire attention of others. The pain and sadness are diluted by the bright silver, leaving only a long silence.
Back at the ramp villa, the owl was tapping the window angrily.
Karan walked up the steps in a daze, and fell backwards as soon as he stepped on it.
She reflexively grabbed the mailbox in front of the door. The small door of the mailbox was pulled down by her, and Siovel raised his hand to support her. Karan turned around and met him who had no time to take it back, with a slightly surprised and panic look on his face.
"Be careful!" Xiovir scolded, "Can't you even walk?"
Before he finished speaking, a lot of stuff fell out of the mailbox that was torn apart by Karan. It splattered all over the floor.
All are postcards.
Karan took a few deep breaths and stood firm. Siovel held her hand with one hand and picked up a postcard with the other hand.
Arnold's figure is printed on the postcard.
“On March 12, we mow the lawns of lonely elderly people in the community.”
"Please, let my father reduce my sentence a little, for the sake of my hard work."
He had just finished watering the flowers, his shoulders were dripping wet, his muscles were well defined, his sweatshirt had been soaked, and there were bulges on his chest.
Xiovir's anger surged to the top of his head.
There are at least a hundred postcards on the ground.
So, every time Arnold does community service, he sends a postcard to Karan.
"What is this?" Siovel suddenly found something shining in the pile of postcards.
Karan followed his line of sight and took a closer look.
It's a diamond ring.
This is Arnold's apology gift to her.
At that time, Karan refused to accept it and asked Arnold to take the ring back.
As a result, Arnold didn't take it back, but stuffed it into the mailbox.
Siovel bent down to pick up the diamond ring, pressed it on the iron mailbox, and made a mark.
"Who put this in your mailbox?" he asked with a dark face.
"Arnold." Karan did not hesitate, "He gave me a gift."
"I understand." Xiovel's voice was calm.
He walked in the door as if nothing had happened, and stepped on Arnold's face with his boot without hesitation.
Karan avoided the postcards on the floor and tiptoed in.
She dug out the medicine box and laid out today's medicine. She was supposed to take it once in the morning, but she forgot.
"Drink the medicine with hot water." Xiovel frowned and touched her cup.
Karan picked up the cup and swallowed the pill.
Xiovel could only let go and asked: "It's good for you to rest for a month before the operation. Adjust your mentality and take good care of your body."
Karan nodded.
"Do you have any plans for this month?" Siovel asked, crossing his hands.
Karan shook his head.
The roles between them suddenly reversed, and Siouvir became the more talkative one.
He frowned and said, "Then I'll make arrangements."
Karan doesn't really want to be arranged by him.
She wants to do something she likes, or do nothing at all and feel completely empty.
"I'm going to take a bath..." She went up the stairs in silence.
When she came out of the shower, Siouvel tore up her calendar and wrote her a monthly plan.
Karan was about to get angry with him, but suddenly saw the first article he wrote.
"On April 20th, go to the Capital Amusement Park with Alice."
This one looks familiar.
Karan put a little force in her hand, and the paper was wrinkled by her. Xiovel quickly snatched it back and read to her one by one -
"From April 22nd to April 30th, go to the southern coast."
"On May 1st, take a ride in the transparent elevator of the Empire Broadcasting Building."
"May 2nd, fireworks display in the capital."
…
Karan looked at Xiovir and was stunned.
These are all things she wrote on her bucket list.
Xiovel wrote all the tedious things into a one-month calendar.
"You can try this later..." Xiovel picked up the pen again to change the plan, and murmured, "Whatever restaurant you want to eat at, you can ask the chef to make dinner. It's just time for dinner, I
I’m hungry too.”
Karan looked at him with complicated eyes.
"Don't you ask why I suddenly need to take a vacation?"
Xiovir thought she was really troublesome.
If you ask, don’t tell. If you don’t ask, you have to ask why.
He raised his eyebrows and said, "I hope you take a vacation as soon as possible. Since you asked me, I don't need to ask further. What if you think about it and don't take a vacation?"
He quickly asked someone to contact the chef.
Karan listened to his call and smiled inwardly.
The corners of her mouth were too heavy to hold back a smile.
The dinner was very sumptuous.
The chef brought fresh ingredients from the store and taught Karan some techniques that she couldn't learn at all. Xiovel was in a general mood, ate something casually and got under the curtain.
Karan ate and drank enough, cleared his mind, and fell on the warm blanket.
"Why are you crying?" Xiovir asked in a low voice.
"I don't."
Karan felt her fingertips brushing against the corners of her eyes, but she knew she didn't shed tears and her eyes were still dry.
Xiovir's voice reached her ears.
He fiddled with her hair gently, his lips pressed against the shell of her ear, and his vague voice penetrated into her ear with the tip of his tongue.
