Chapter 29 The first history lesson
Now that we have settled down, I think it's time to start telling my story again.
Let us forget the war around us for the time being and follow me back to eight years ago.
Dealing with the vampire attacks in the Abuvado family and the academy and Vic is willing to keep the secrets of the past for me, my life has become calm.
Returning to the normal pace of life makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that this kind of life is not good, but I’m used to the exciting life of fighting with vampires.
But this is the case, I had to learn to accept it. In fact, when I walked back into the lively campus of the National Comprehensive College, I found that this kind of life seemed quite good.
But my first priority today is not to continue studying. After experiencing the fierce battle in the early morning, I thought I should talk to Zhuo and share this joy with her.
"Please come in." As usual, as soon as I knocked on the door, her voice came from inside.
I twisted the door handle and walked in. She sat behind the desk, carefully processing the documents on her hands.
"Good morning, Zhuo." I poured myself a cup of coffee and sat down on the soft and spacious sofa in the office. "You look very busy."
"If you can bring me some good news, I won't be angry with you because you missed classes again, Mr. Savos." Zhuo replied while lowering his head and concentrating on the documents in his hand.
"In fact, I do have good news," I put down my coffee and said with a smile. "You and the senior officials of the college can rest assured that all the vampires who are making trouble in the college have been dealt with by me, and even Benjamin's family has just been uprooted by us."
"What?" Maybe the news I threw out was too important. Zhuo's original smooth writing sound paused suddenly. I could see her taking several deep breaths, stroking her clothes, then raised her head and looked at me, "Are you saying true?"
"I'm just a fake one, ma'am," I smiled proudly, stood up and bowed to her, "I've received my reward."
"This is really good news, Mr. Savos," Zhuo breathed a sigh of relief after hearing what I said before looking at me with a smile. "On behalf of the college leadership and my family, I thank you."
"No thanks," I waved my hand at her casually, twisted the coffee cup on the table and took another big sip, "I'm just completing my task."
"Besides," I looked at her and pointed to the lively campus outside happily, "I can finally study in this school safely."
"Are you serious?" Zhuo showed another surprised expression, and then smiled apologetically at me, "I don't mean that, I thought you just need the task..."
"Of course not, my dear Miss Zhuo," I shrugged and said that I didn't take it to my heart, "I do like studying very much."
"Okay," I clapped my hands and put the coffee cup back on the table. "The good news has been conveyed, and it's time for me to go back to class," I said, "not to scold me again on the grounds of skipping class."
"I'm very happy that you have this awareness, Mr. Savos," Zhuo gave me a blank look, then nodded with a smile, and began to pack up the information on the table, "You go first, I have to clean up my office, and then go to report your work results to the senior management of the college."
"I wish you a happy and safe day, Miss Zhuo."
"Same for you, Savos."
After coming out of Zhuo's office, my heart finally really let go, and replaced it with an indescribable sense of ease. All the parts related to my work in college life have been processed, and next I just need to enjoy this second college life.
"Don't be too ostentatious, Savos, don't be too ostentatious," I murmured out of the Academic Building, "Think about the lessons you learned at Bards Academy."
I would read it like this several times every day so that I would not forget everything that happened in the Bard Academy, and would not provoke my teacher frivolously again.
"Let me see my class schedule," After leaving the Academic Affairs Building, I took out my class schedule. As a student in the entire department of the Eleventh Department, the courses I took were undoubtedly several times as many as others. From the morning of the local day to the evening of the sun, my time was filled with the courses, but I enjoyed it.
"Ah! The next section is a general theory of history." I looked at it, put away my class schedule with satisfaction, and started walking towards the building where the classroom was. The class was about to end soon. When I walked over, it should be just about time for the end of get out of class.
"Savos!" I was walking on the small path in the forest. The National Comprehensive College had a good greening. It was said that it was to provide students with a high-quality learning environment. A voice suddenly came from behind me.
I turned my head and looked in the direction where the sound came. Erin was carrying a big bag, carrying a backpack, smiling on her face, and her empty hand was waving desperately.
"Irene?" I walked over, took the bag from her hand and the backpack on her back, and looked at her in surprise, "How could you come to the academy?"
"You are such a gentleman, my dear Savos," Erin smiled and kissed me lightly, and began to walk side by side with me. "I really don't want to stay in the house every day, so I convinced my housekeeper and servant to come to National Comprehensive Snow to study."
"So I can see you every day, my dear," she turned her head and smiled at me, "Of course, I'm not as good as you, so I only applied for the Department of Rhetoric and Language."
"Ah, my villa has arrived!" We walked forward for a short while. Meeting Irene made me feel very good. It made me extremely happy to know that she was going to study here.
"I'll help you carry your luggage in." I looked at her with equal happiness and walked into her wooden house with my luggage.
"This is not OK, my dear," Erin stopped me quickly, "I have roommates, and this doesn't seem to be suitable."
"You should have a class," I was about to speak, but Erin spoke first and blocked my mouth. "You go quickly, being late is not a good habit."
"Okay," I shrugged, handed her luggage, waved at her again, and turned around and walked out. "See you at noon."
"Wait, Savos," her voice came from behind me, and I turned around in confusion, but my lips just met the other warm and soft lips.
"Um..." I tried my best to make a sound, but soon my mouth was completely blocked by Erin. The unexpected kiss lasted about twenty seconds before Erin let me go with satisfaction, "See you at noon."
I had been in chaos by her attack. I didn't even know what to say for a moment, so I had to nod to her and then leave her villa like running away.
"It's so embarrassing, Saren," I kept thinking about it on the way to the classroom, "but it's just a kiss, and you and Erin are making more than that. When did you become so timid? Not only did you say nothing, you ran away from her like you ran away. This is so rude!"
"Hey! This is different!" Another little Salon jumped out of my head and began to argue with the previous little Salon, "This is in public! Who would do this in front of strangers in public? That's too shameful!"
"Haha! It seems like you are still a virgin. Wake up, Saren, you shouldn't..."
The self-dispute in my head began to intensify. Fortunately, I walked downstairs of the history classroom, and my curiosity about the courses suddenly gained the upper hand, and all the debates disappeared at the same time.
The bell rang just right, and a large number of students flocked out of various classrooms and left the building in groups of three or three.
Their laughter reminded me of my former roommate Hickrad, and my previous thoughts surged into my heart again. When I had free time, I must send a letter to Hickrad.
The layout and decoration of the history classroom are basically no different from the classrooms I have been to. Both the Empire and the Strand seem to like this concentric circle-like heightened seat distribution.
It is said that this is a culture passed down by the ancient empires, and it allows everyone to clearly hear the voice of the propagandist in the center of the podium.
There were not many students in the history department. Until the bell rang, the classroom that could accommodate 400 students only had nearly 70% attendance.
Given the Stranders’ fanatical preference for science and progressive technology, it was completely beyond my expectations that there were so many history students in this classroom.
A slight cough sounded behind me. A male professor in his fifties and had a lot of bald head held the teaching materials in his hands and walked slowly down from the aisle in the middle of his seat.
I recognized him, and on the day I interviewed, he sat in the seat of the professor of history.
"I'm very happy to meet you, new classmates, old classmates," as I was in the time of thinking, the professor had already walked to the lowest and central podium in the classroom. "I am Federer Chance, a professor in the History Department. Today we are going to talk about the common calendar on the Verodima continent."
"I believe you all know that the calendar is an important tool for measuring time and a reliable helper for humans to record history. Can anyone tell me what day it is?"
"The Empire Calendar, or the Emperor Calendar January 21, 2710." A student quickly gave the answer.
"Very good," Federer nodded with satisfaction. "The Empire calendar, or the Emperor calendar, was created by the first generation of the 'Emperor' who landed on this continent. In the last lesson, we have already said that today's human countries are separated from the empire, so the entire Verodima continent uses the Empire calendar. Although we, although on the distant islands, have also retained this tradition."
"I believe many of you know that the imperial calendar takes the day of the emperor landing as the first year of the first year, but I don't think you know some deeper knowledge, and this is what we are going to discuss today."
"First of all, I want you to think about a question," Federer said loudly, turning around and writing a big seven on the blackboard, "Why is it nine days a week, not ten days or twelve days or fifteen days?"
This question is indeed very interesting, but Federer obviously did not intend to let us think about the answers ourselves. As soon as I fell into deep thought, his voice rang again.
"One week is nine heavens, naturally, it is said that when the emperor compiled the calendar, he set the next week as nine heavens to take the meaning of the nine holy spirits in the sky. At the same time, nine also secretly matched the elements that the emperor had observed initially."
"I believe many of you have read such stories. The Emperor in the story is a great rune master. Of course, I must declare that the profession of rune master does not exist. The only thing that is close to rune masters is probably the rune technology of the dwarves. So please don't take the story seriously, gentlemen, ladies."
"In short," Federer continued, "the emperor observed the nine natural existences of earth, feng shui, fire, sun, moon, starlight, darkness, and this is also another name for nine days a week, which is the earth, wind, sun, water, sun, fire, and sun that many of you are familiar with... and so on."
I nodded. I had never heard of this method of name before. The history class in this academy did allow me to learn a lot.
As for the part where rune masters do not exist, well, I think rune masters are always good at hiding themselves so that they can survive the mage's wanted and hunting.
In the following time, Federer told us some interesting knowledge, including the dragon calendar mentioned in many stories. "Since there is no evidence in this world that can prove the existence of a dragon, and the notation of the dragon calendar is too complicated, we usually do not consider the dragon calendar as a formal calendar."
His tone told me that he also supports this view. I think 99% of people will support this view, but I know that the dragon really exists. I have seen a red dragon with my own eyes and survived because of its sacrifice.
With the idea that might be useful, I carefully copied the dragon calendar into my book. I could hear the snickers from the neighbors. They must have regarded me as a fool.
I copied all the knowledge related to the Dragon Calendar with a calm expression, and then closed the book. It is not certain who is a fool.
"There is another kind of calendar," Federer said mysteriously after finishing the topic of the Dragon Calendar. "We and the Empire's joint exploration fleet recently discovered a new continent and successfully conducted basic exploration. They named the landing place 'Frad'. It is reported that there are indigenous people on that continent, and they are likely to have their own calendar."
"Of course, there are also those mysterious and mysterious people who stammer when they mention their hometown, with dark hair and dark eyes, and completely different looks from us. They must also have their own calendars."
"Today's course ends here," Federer announced the end of the course after leaving a big news. "I hope you have learned something. If you have Eastern friends, you might also learn about the knowledge related to the Eastern calendar."
He finally smiled mysteriously at us. The bell of the end of get out of class happened to start at this time, and the first class I had experienced in this school, which I really experienced in the school, ended.
Chapter completed!
