Chapter 15 The Feast of Grace(2/2)

Just then there was a commotion at the door. I turned around with a smile to see who was coming, but I saw a few faces that I didn't expect: the leader was Yollif, followed by Bryn, Locke, and Jade.

...Everyone in the meeting came.

"Why are you here?" I was very surprised, "You shouldn't be here...?" I originally wanted to blurt out the guild, but suddenly realized where I was, so my voice suddenly became quieter.

"Everyone wants to celebrate God's Day together, Sarah." Yollive pretended to be serious, "Do you want to stay here alone and leave us behind?"

I shook my head, and Yollive continued: "Of course, we don't think it's good for you to leave your friends here, so after discussion, we decided to come and join you. Are you welcome?"

"Then you have to ask Kailas." Although I said this, I still gave each of them a big hug.

"Lathander welcomes everyone." Kailas welcomed their arrival. Although I didn't say it, I still breathed a sigh of relief.

The children and homeless people were a little wary at first, but they quickly dissipated in front of the delicious food and fruit juice and beer brought out by Yorliv and the others. The two groups sat together and started eating and drinking happily.

During the meeting, Yorlive used the word "business organization" to describe our guild, which made me want to laugh a little. There seemed to be nothing wrong with it in essence. He also mentioned me and claimed that I was "the youngest genius in the history of the chamber of commerce."

”, and claimed that I have unique business abilities that will be of great help to the Chamber of Commerce.

I lowered my head because the smile on my face was almost unbearable, but at the same time I was very grateful to Yorliv for saying this. Although no one here, including Kailas, said it, I knew they must have suspected it.

: Where did a child come from so much money? Now that they have Yolliv's explanation, they won't doubt it anymore.

Everyone continued to drink and have fun, the children drank juice, and so did I. At this time, I found that Sally was missing, so I secretly told Kailas and ran out.

The church was not particularly big, so I quickly found Sally in the deserted backyard. She was wearing brand new leather boots, sitting on a stool, her legs slightly bent, and her hands holding her knees. When I arrived, she was looking at

The stars in the sky are in a daze.

"Sarah, I have a question." Sally suddenly spoke, she was still looking at the stars in the sky, "I heard adults say that people will become stars in the sky after they die. You are so powerful, can you tell me

is that true."

"It's true." I looked at her face, her eyes were full of hope, and I really couldn't bear to tell her the facts that Trazo told me.

"That's good," she laughed cheerfully, "I come here every year to see the stars and my mother on God's Day."

"your mom?"

"Well, she froze to death three years ago, on God's Day." Sally smiled and told me the heartbreaking story, "in order to find food for me and my brother. My brother also froze to death last year.

Because I have no clothes to wear."

"That's why I said it's good that I'm alive, because I didn't freeze to death." I don't know if it was her hands that tightened or my illusion, but she became even smaller. "I watch the stars every year on God's Day. Before

It was to miss my mother, and later to miss my mother and brother." She smiled and pointed to the stars in the sky, telling me which one was her mother and which one was her brother. I saw tears falling from the corners of her eyes, and then

It slowly turned into a stream, and the girl's smile disappeared. She twitched her nose and sobbed silently.

When I thought of my parents, my heart felt like a knife. I understood this feeling and felt it myself. I took out a handkerchief from my pocket and handed it to her.

"Thank you, Saren." She sobbed and said to me, "I don't know what you have been through, but I know it must be very sad. Every child here has a very sad childhood." She turned around and held me in her arms.

"But you are different," she cried, trying her best to show me a gentle smile, "the first time I saw you, I saw countless wariness and hatred. I don't know your

I have no intention of exposing your scars about what happened to you, but I want to tell you, through my own story, that the past is not everything, and you still have a future." She said this with a look between sadness and pleading.

With an expression on her face, she said, "Let the past go, Sarah. You have us with you and your colleagues, and your life will get better and better." She begged and said sincerely.

I nodded and wiped away her tears, but she held me down, "You promise me." She said seriously. Although there were tears on her face, her expression was light. I breathed out quietly, and she said it again.

She has turned back into the cute and lively Sally.

"I promise." I replied seriously. In order to show my sincerity, I raised one hand and swore. "Okay, let's go." Sally nodded with satisfaction and led me back to the basement.

"The party is still going on, and I still want to hear you sing." I heard Sally whisper to me lively before walking into the room where people were drinking and drinking.

So at the banquet I took out the lute again, which shocked Yolliv and the others.

"Oh, Sarah, I didn't know you could do this." Yollive maintained his usual exaggerated style, raised his glass and made a funny face, "Bards are all love saints."

"Don't teach our children bad things, York." Jade said seriously, "I like to listen to the bard sing the most."

So at everyone's enthusiastic request (including Sally and Kailas), I was forced to play love songs and epic songs for everyone, and played a guest role as a bard. Amidst bursts of laughter, the music on the wall

The clock slowly approached twelve o'clock, and with the last five minutes left, everyone raised their glasses together, and I finally had a chance to take a break. I sang for hours on end until my throat was filled with smoke.

"The first glass is a toast to Sarah, for bringing us wonderful music." Yollive raised his glass to me, and I quickly raised my glass in return. Others also raised their juices or beers, "To Sarah

!" Everyone said happily, and then drank all the wine in the glass together.

"Second toast to everyone, I'm glad to meet you on the last day of this year." Yollive said, and everyone raised their glasses again, "Here's to everyone!"

“The third cup is a toast to God’s Thanksgiving and a brand new year!”

"Happy New Year!"

After drinking three glasses of wine, Yollive suggested telling stories to kill the last bit of time, so we sat around the fire and told various stories one after another. Of course, it turns out that the stories I told always

The most exciting ones.

Time slipped away unknowingly in the laughter. When I finished telling another story and made Sally giggle, the melodious bells sounded in the distance, lasting for a total of twelve times.

"Happy God's Day! Happy New Year!" Yorliv jumped up first and hugged me. Then he tried to hug Jade, but was slapped away by the latter.

"Happy New Year, Sarah." The second person who ran over to hug me was Sally. She hugged me gently, then quickly kissed me on the face when I wasn't paying attention, and ran away with a smile.

Already.

"It seems that our Sarah is going to fall in love." The third person who came was Rose. She smiled evilly and hugged me tightly, almost strangling me so hard that I couldn't breathe. "Happy New Year~"

"Happy New Year, Sarah." The fourth one is Jade, she has just finished dealing with Yolliv.

York, Crabb and Volpe chose a more direct way of celebrating and drinking, while Kailas chose to bless us all. Finally, there was Bryn, who carried a small package.

"Happy New Year, man." He put the package in front of me and said with a smile: "Sometimes I forget that you are only nine years old, so this is a New Year's gift for the newlyweds according to adult standards.

Keep it well."

I took the package and didn't open it immediately. It was rumored that New Year's gifts could only be opened in the afternoon of the next day. I decided to be superstitious. But I soon regretted it because I received more gifts the next day.

But that's all a story for another day. After we celebrated the Feast of God's Grace, everyone slept in the basement of Kailas. According to Locke, "It would be too troublesome to go back." Yolliv also agreed.

I lay in bed, unable to fall asleep for a long time. This was destined to be a special God's Day for me. I gained friends and family, friendship, and something more precious.
