Chapter 113 Leave no room

As I expected at the beginning, Leclerc was not in a hurry to launch the final attack.

The soldiers of the First Brigade and I quickly established a position at the entrance of the port building. The sharp spear and the black muzzle were facing the gate of the port building together. The boiler of the steam-fired guns was also heated, enough to block anyone who dared to attack us.

Leclerc soon came among us, and he looked at us, and everyone's faces no longer had the smiles they had before, nor the joy they should have appeared after the victory.

He walked up to me, Hickrad and Crien, and wanted to open his mouth several times, but he didn't know what to say.

"We're OK, Leclerc," Hicklad smiled at him, "This is war...this kind of thing is inevitable."

"Come here, Leclerc," I pulled Leclerc and walked aside with him, "Stop stimulating Hicklad, he killed nearly 90% of the civilians."

"What..." Leclerc looked at me in surprise, "This..."

He subconsciously wanted to look back at Hickrad, and was slapped back by me. "Don't go see him," I said with a frown. "The steam gunman can't bear this pressure, Hickrad took over him."

"Huh," Leclerc breathed a sigh of relief, "I understand, Mr. Saren..."

"When will Rana's troops arrive?"

"It's coming soon," Leclerc heard this and reached out to take out his pocket watch and looked at it. "In fact, they should have entered the dock area."

As soon as his words fell, a noise came from the entrance of the military camp.

"Gentlemen!" I turned around and looked at Hickrad and Krien who were talking, "It seems that Commander Rana has come here, and we should go and meet him!"

Hickrad and Krien nodded, stopped talking in a low voice, and instead stepped to our side with big strides, "Let's go."

We walked all the way in the military camp and came to the exit far from the port building. Here we saw the ashen faced with a gray face and a puzzled face.

"What's going on, Leclerc," he pulled us into a tent on the side of the road as soon as he saw us. "Many of your soldiers have begun to break down! I heard them say that they killed civilians with their own hands, what's going on!"

"It was my decision, sir," Leclerc looked at him calmly, "I have no intention of arguing anything. Everyone here is an executioner, but we have the reason for this."

"Let Leclerc, Lana," I walked forward and opened the hand that Rana was holding Leclerc's sleeve. "I proposed this idea. I believe that if there was a way, we wouldn't choose such an...inhuman approach."

"The civilians were armed by fanatics," I continued to explain to the angry Rana, "as armed as they are...you understand, we can't let them come to our front and our soldiers."

"So you kill them!" Rana let go of Leclerc and turned to look at me, "Those are living lives! They did nothing wrong! They are citizens of Capofez!"

"And you," he grabbed me, "what do you have the power to propose such a solution! You are not even a citizen of Strand!"

"Enough!" A crisp sound suddenly sounded in front of me. I looked at Leclerc in surprise and slapped Rana in the face.

"Don't use those high-sounding words to blame Mr. Saren, or to blame me, sir!" He stood there, panting, "It was us who made this decision, not you! It was us who stained with blood on his hands, not you!"

He roared at Rana, "If you were here, how would you choose! Ah!"

"Everyone will say something about beautiful scenes, let Rana! But not everyone can make difficult decisions!"

Leclerc pulled me up, "Are we capable of removing the condensation of divine power on them? No! If our soldiers were damaged too heavily, how can we take this place! How can we take it!"

He angrily picked up Rana, who was a little stunned, and punched him in the face. His punch did not leave any emotion. I saw Rana's teeth fly out directly.

"More important!" He shouted at Rana, letting his saliva spray on his face. "If we retreat! Then the guys opposite! Ah, those lunatics!" He pointed to the port building, "It's there! They knew that this method was useful, and more civilians would suffer! You understand what, let Rana, you don't understand anything!"

He threw Rana hard to the ground, then rode on him quickly and began to fist at Rana constantly.

"Hey..." Hickrad walked out and was about to raise his hand, I hurriedly held him down.

"Let him vent, Hill," I looked into Hickrad's eyes and said slowly and firmly, "It's time for Rana to wake up. He is a gentleman, but not a qualified commander."

"Okay," Hickrad sighed and retreated, "I get it."

(Shikrad: I have to say that Saren's eyes were so calm that I was scared at that time, just as what we were going through today was just another episode of the war for him, but I understand that Saren's words make sense. If Rana can't wake up yet, our next battle will be very difficult.)

I watched Hickrad retreat back to his original position helplessly and looked at Leclerc again. He seemed to have vented his anger and stood up from Rana.

"Come in, soldier."

The soldier on duty then walked in tremblingly, covering his mouth and looking at Rana who fainted on the ground, "Take Commander Rana to the field hospital for treatment, go quickly!"

The two soldiers nodded quickly, ran to Rana one after another, lifted him from the ground and transported him out.

"Hope this will make him feel a little more awake," Leclerc walked aside and wiped the blood from his hands with a scarf. "Let's go," he waved at us, "When will we launch our final offensive?"

"Just now," I thought about it, "there are not many enemies in the port building, and we must not give them time to rest, especially those enthusiastic Inquisitionists."

"Very good," Leclerc nodded, "I will let the second and third team follow you, Crien, your first team is at the forefront and is under the greatest psychological pressure. You should have a good rest."

Krien did not object, his face was more tired than ever before, I understood that this natural soldier and tough guy was tired.

"Get a good rest, Krien," I walked over and patted his shoulder. "This kind of battlefield is not suitable for you. You have to keep your energy and deal with really tough enemies."

"As for this kind of thing that is hated by gods and ghosts..." I was silent for a moment, "Let me do it."

"Salon, I..." Krien looked at me gratefully, and I smiled at him and shook his head, "No need to talk nonsense, Krien, go and rest."

Krien nodded at us and quickly left the tent, with only three of us left in the tent.

"Let's go," Leclerc nodded at us, "I will attack with you."

"How can this be done?" I was startled by Leclerc's words and hurriedly grabbed him, hoping to dispel his idea. "You are the commander of the First Battalion! Who knows how many fanatics there are in that building? You were injured in the commercial area and another while attacking this dock. I can't guarantee that I can save you again!"

"No need to persuade me, Mr. Saren," said Leclerc, peacefully and firmly, "I want to join you. This may calm my inner pain a little."

"Okay," I sighed, "put on your armor and get your weapons, it's better to have a pistol and a crossbow, as well as gather your troops, we'll see you at the entrance in five minutes."

"Of course, good luck, Mr. Saren."

Leclerc waved at us and walked out of the tent, while Hickrad and I came directly to the entrance of the port building.

Five minutes passed quickly, Leclerc was dressed neatly, carrying a power sword around his waist, holding a pistol, and bringing two squadrons of soldiers to us.

"Everyone is ready, Mr. Saren," he looked at me with some excitement, "Go off!"

I carried the warhammer, "Remember," my eyes swept across the faces of the soldiers, "Don't show mercy, leave no room for anything, we do not accept any surrender, I only want to see the people in it turn into dead bodies on the ground."

I pointed to the brightly lit port building not far away with the warhammer, then walked to the front of the team, "Charge!"

The guard post was quickly moved away. I opened my shield and rushed to the front. The shield on my hand and the armor on my body could help me block most of the damage.

The distance of more than 100 meters was just a blink of an eye. Before more bullets and artillery fire poured on us, I rushed into the port building with Hickrad.

The warriors who had launched an assault in the commercial area were also coming in with us. They were still wearing the power armor from that time and quietly followed Hickrad and me.

"Everyone spreads away and cleans up the building," I lowered my voice and began to assign tasks. "The eyes are bright. If you can solve the problem with guns, don't confront him head-on, be careful of those damn fanatics."

The commandos all nodded, "Very good," I raised my hand, "as before when I was in the commercial district, follow me and follow Hill's, follow him, let's spread out and act!"

The commandos quickly divided into two units, one followed me to the left and the other followed Hickrad to the right. I will set out from the left and clean the right forward, while Hickrad is exactly the opposite.

If everything goes well, we should meet again on the first floor.

"Sir, what should I do about this staircase leading to the second floor?"

I looked back at the team members who asked the question, "Leave it to the brothers outside, they will handle it."

The screams began to sound on the first floor, and it seemed that Hickrad had already started to take action.

"Fast move!"

I waved to all the commandos and cursed with a smile: "If you don't hurry up, I'll be embarrassed in front of Hill!"

I led the team members and began to move forward along the passage on the left. From the layout, this side looked like the former staff dormitory. The spaces on both sides of the passage were divided into rooms, with several high and low beds in each room.

Unlike Hickrad, I walked along the way with the team members without any resistance, which made me feel a little disappointed. I think it must be the gunshots from Hickrad that reminded them.

I don't know if they had escaped or gathered together and were ready to resist. I carried the hammer and continued to check in rooms one by one. I hope they would resist stubbornly in the front so that I could vent my hatred.

As I thought so, I smashed the next door blocking my face.

"We surrender! We surrender!"

There were extremely terrifying shouts from the room, and more than ten imperial soldiers hid in this room, kneeling on the ground in fear.

I put away the warhammer, "You want to surrender?"

"Yes! Yes!" said the soldier in the lead sincerely, "We are tired of this war that we don't know why, so we surrender! Please show your mercy!"

"What's going on, Captain? Ah... So that's it."

A commando ran to me and I turned to look at him, "You understand how to do it, we won't take prisoners."

"I understand," the team member called out several comrades and raised the rifle in his hands at the soldiers kneeling on the ground.

"No! No!" The soldier in the lead was even more panicked, "I have three children waiting for me, sir!"

"Child!" I walked back with big strides and stepped on him, "You still have the face to talk about your child!"

I squatted down, took off my helmet, and looked at him with a sneer, "The civilians who were driven out by you! They were forced to move towards our positions! The civilians who were killed by our own hands! Have you ever thought about their families and their children!"

“Hand it.”

I stood up and continued to move forward with the hammer. There were bursts of gunfire and screams behind me.

"You are deserved by sin! Scum!"

After the execution, I saw the commando spit at their bodies and directed his teammates to smash the bodies into meat paste.

"Keep going!" I waved to them, "There is more garbage waiting for us in front!"

"Abide by the order!"

Several soldiers picked up their weapons again and returned to the team in great strides.
