The Vampire in the Sewer

"Talos!Talos!"

Salun walked into the Royal Rune Division's garrison in a hurry. The soldiers guarding the gate recognized him and immediately gave up a path - no one dared, and no one would stop the former Rune Division instructor.

Karen carefully put away the notepad. Just now, Saren told him more about Salena. It was a bit regretful that he could not hear the most exciting part immediately. He had already figured out how to write this story related to Salena.

But he also knew what was more important. Vampires appeared in Eindhoven's sewer, which was not a trivial matter.

Today they can attack the stairwell and kill everyone inside quietly. Tomorrow they may run out from the ground, rush into the palace, and take the life of Frgar II.

Or worse – an emperor who turns into a second-class vampire will cause serious panic throughout the empire.

"Damn!" Saren's screams came from the front, pulling Karen out of his contemplation. "Savos is anxious," he called Saren's pseudonym, thinking of this, "I have never seen him so anxious before."

"Talos! Come out!"

Accompanied by Saren's extremely impatient shouts, more and more soldiers gathered by his side. Many people recognized this senior who had established the Rune Division - which made them even more frightened and uneasy. What exactly would make people like Saren Novis lose their due demeanor?

No one dared to continue thinking, and the rune masters who fought side by side with Saren became even more pale. Many people began to breathe in a hurry, hoping to suppress the rising fear in their hearts.

Even when facing the wind demon who could destroy Einhofen with a wave, Saren Novis was not so anxious.

Many people shivered when they thought of this, and their feelings of anxiety became stronger and stronger. Everyone began to empty their brains and did not allow themselves to continue thinking in the bad direction.

"What's wrong, teacher?"

Fortunately, Talos finally showed up, his face full of surprise and seriousness, and obviously knew that Saren was not like he should have been.

As Talos walked to Salon, the sound of uniform exhalation also sounded among the onlookers, and many people became relaxed - no matter what news Salon brought, the news now has a person in charge.

"Let's go in and talk, teacher," Talos looked at the teacher with a pale face, and his expression slowly changed. In his memory, Salon rarely had such an expression.

This made him even less want to see such an expression - if even Saren finds this matter difficult, it will be a big trouble for them.

"No need to go in, Talos, it's good to be here," Saren looked at Talos angrily, then glanced at the rune masters gathered around him, "and let these stupid pigs know how bad they are!"

Saren's words were like water poured into boiling oil. The gathered rune soldiers were immediately furious, and many of them showed angry expressions on their faces. They were all elites among rune masters, and no one had insulted them with the word "stupid pig" before.

"This is too much!" a rune master shouted, "I will never accept such insults! Even if you are my former instructor!"

"Is that?" Saren sneered, threw Talos with an awkward look aside, and glanced at the surrounding rune division soldiers again. "If you are not stupid pigs, not useless waste, then why did such a big thing happen in the sewer, but no one knows it until now!"

His words made more people look confused. Talos sighed when he saw this. He knew that these soldiers were finished.

He remembered the days when he was just selected into the Rune Division - Saren was only twenty-two years old at that time, and he didn't look like he was now, but those days were like nightmare.

Before entering the military camp, no one would have thought that this young man holding a heavy sword, proficient in multi-system rune art, always had a gentle smile on his face, and it could even be said that a handsome young man would be so terrifying.

"Idiot! Stupid pig! Useless waste!" During the time he recalled the past years, Saren had already begun to insult these soldiers, just like he insulted Talos who had just entered the barracks.

"Damn it!" As if he was still unhappy, Saren kicked the soldier who retorted first in the chest - the latter immediately screamed and flew backwards. Even Talos cast a pity on him, and the dragon's power was not that easy to bear.

"It seems you are still unwilling to accept it, ha!" Saren glanced coldly at the angry soldiers around him again, his eyes turned into golden vertical pupils - Talos, who noticed this, shrank his neck in fear.

"Someone is going to be unlucky," he thought to himself, and then he was a little lucky: "It's not me."

"Vampires appeared in the sewer, poor worms grown up in your mother's arms!" Saren continued to curse, and two more rune masters were knocked over to the ground by him, "Ha! You poor guys, especially those recruits who have never heard of me, may have never seen the appearance of demons and vampires in their lives!"

"I came from the stairwell closest to here. Do you understand what this means?" Saren's words obviously shocked the soldiers, and even Talos temporarily escaped from his memorial to the past.

Vampires in the sewer, this is not a good sign.

"This means that you are all a group of brainless bastards! The vampire killed a stairwell staff at such a close place - that were three! And it was several days ago! You didn't react at all, and no one even noticed that something was wrong! It was less than five hundred meters away from your military camp!"

"And you," Saren turned quickly, his fingers almost poked Talos' nose. "You idiot, even the beggars on the street do better than you. What did I say when I was training you!"

“The dark areas and ghettos along the sewer port must be inspected at least once a day to avoid possible cult or vampire infiltration.”

Talos looked at his teacher nervously. He knew what Saren meant, but he was frightened and his speech was uncontrollably fast.

"The back is fluent," Saren kicked him over, "but he couldn't use his fart, and the vampire obviously took root in the sewer."

"And you idiots must have apologized to me when they think about it, no need to quibble," he looked at the elites of these empires with dissatisfaction. "I can see this in your eyes. You useless stupid things have not yet thought of the most critical point!"

Talos sat on the ground, his chest was so painful that his ribs must have been kicked, but he didn't bother to deal with his injuries. His brain suppressed the pain in his chest and abdomen and began to rotate rapidly.

He quickly understood, his face turned pale, and he was hunched over, and he no longer dared to look at his teacher.

"Ha! It seems that there is a smart man here," but his movements failed to escape Saren's eyes. He noticed Talos's actions keenly and walked towards him. "I am relieved, and it proves that at least I did not choose a completely incompetent fool to take my shift."

"Now, tell your men," Saren lifted Talos from the ground hard, "Why am I so angry, my good student!"

"Yes! Teacher!" Talos responded angrily, then looked at the soldiers of the Rune Division with dissatisfaction, "You guys who are not as good as beggars! The sewer and the palace are connected!"

Everyone understood, and everyone's face turned pale, and all this changed so quickly that Karen felt that the anger of his former colleague was just a ridiculous hallucination.

No one dared to continue to be angry, and no one dared to continue to stare at Saren - this is serious dereliction of duty, and everyone understands this.

If His Majesty the Emperor dies or becomes a vampire, the empire will be over.

"Do you all understand?" Saren snorted coldly, "Very good. If I had not set this rule at the beginning, I would not blame you. But now, there are only two words that can be described as dereliction of duty!"

"According to my rules when I was in the Rune Division," Salon continued to say without emotion, "all malfeasance personnel will be whipped by three whips."

The word "whip" is like a switch, opening the door to memory that many people present have sealed for a long time.

What's funny is that the recruits were just a little scared, and the veterans - especially Talos, had already started to slap their hands.

Talos closed his eyes, and the scenes of bloody being blown by the whip appeared in his mind. His teeth began to shake violently—half because of fear, and half because of excitement.

Karen also took a deep breath. As a member of this group, he was honored to be whipped in his early years. When he was still under Talos, the entire rune division was led by Saren.

Talos was given ten whips, and he was given five whips.

"Enjoy, rookies," he thought of this, and gave him a pity to the recruits on the field. "It seems that Saren has been away for too long that the soldiers now don't even know how to whip them."

“Execute now!”

Before everyone could react, a strange energy brushed across their bodies and enveloped them. The rune masters who were brushed by this energy felt that their bodies had suddenly become five times heavier. In just one moment, everyone was firmly pressed to the ground.

"Ah, Salon's gravity," Karen looked at him with relish, "it seems he is serious."

"I hope you can remember in the future what the Rune Division's responsibilities are and the honors you deserve."

Saren's voice sounded without any emotion, and then he stretched out his right hand, and a long whip with silver light appeared in his palm.

"Oh my God," Karen couldn't sit still now. As a rune master in the metal system, he knew very well what it was. "Mysterious Silver Whip!? God, I hope you can stand up after these three whips."

The front end of the whip is constantly stretched and soon grows to a terrifying level.

"one!"

"Bang!"

The first whip was ruthlessly whipped down, and the clothes of all the lying rune masters instantly broke, and a cracked wound on their backs was clearly visible.

The veterans gritted their teeth, but the sweat beads rising from their foreheads still betrayed them. The recruits were not so lucky. They were stunned by a whip without any preparation. After a while, the recruits seemed to have suddenly come back to life and screamed.

"Noisy! This is not a qualified rune division soldier! Two!"

It was so neat that it sounded like a whip. Without the protection of the clothes, everyone's backs immediately became bloody and fuzzy. The veterans were still holding on, and many people even bit their lips and blood was left along the corners of their mouths.

The recruits started to scream and howl, and many people began to twist wildly, as if they wanted to break free from such hell, but the rule field formed by gravity controlled them tightly. They had no way to resist - Saren's mental power was too strong.

"Tsk tsk, Saren's mental power is really terrible," Karen simply sat cross-legged and watched the recruits suffer with great pleasure. "He used to draw separately at the beginning, but now he can draw so many people at the same time."

"Shut your mouth! Otherwise, add three more whips! Three!"

This sentence scared all the recruits, and everyone closed their mouths as fast as possible. Many people were still crying, but no one continued to cry or scream.

"Bang!"

In the endless fear and anxiety, the third whip finally fell. The already messy back became even more terrible. Most of the recruits immediately fainted, the veterans were already sweating profusely, and their waists were completely wet with sweat.

"Everyone stand up!" Saren waved his whip and looked at them coldly, "I have saved face for the female soldiers, otherwise you should have stood here naked!"

"But I don't want to make things so bad. You are all veterans who have followed me and should know your responsibilities! Maybe I am not an imperialist! But I am your instructor! The founder of the Rune Division! And I will never allow any scum to smear it! Do you understand!"

"I understand!" Everyone let out a uniform roar.

"Very good," Saren nodded with satisfaction, "help these useless wastes back into their tents. You don't need to interfere in this matter, but I hope that the rune division will be seen in the sewer in the future and disband!"

The veterans breathed a sigh of relief and helped each other to walk towards the dormitory. The fainting recruits were also carried up one by one and then sent to their respective company dormitories.

Talos nodded slightly to Saren, and then limped away with the soldiers.

"Let's go," Saren turned his head and said to Karen after all the soldiers were exposed.

"Are you leaving?" Karen was a little surprised. "We are not...?"

"The rune division is of no use now," Saren said calmly, "and the sewer is more urgent, and I have to inform Old Davis immediately."
