Chapter 92 Never Goodbye(1/2)

"boom!"

The sound of explosive explosion echoed in this somewhat simple grotto. In the darkness, someone panicked and picked up his weapon, but hit the huge rock rolling down the slope head-on.

The dull sound of heavy objects hitting the body kept ringing in the grotto, and the sunlight also penetrated through the broken hole.

“Alk intus!”

A black shadow rushed out of the shadow, shouting an unknown voice, holding a spear in hand and attacking the invader.

He watched the distance between himself and the target shorten little by little, his eyes widened with excitement, and he could already imagine in his mind the scene of a spear piercing his body, and the painful shouts of this stupid guy before his death.

"bite!"

His fantasy failed to become a reality, and a silver shield flashing with strange blue light blocked the spear he stabbed.

He was stunned for a moment. There was no reason in this world that could block the armor of his spear. At least he had never missed the battle against those ordinary human soldiers.

However, during this moment of dazed moment, six wind blades appeared out of thin air beside his body. He seemed to realize that he looked at the invader in horror.

It was a tall figure, the man was wearing armor with dazzling silver light, and the armor was runes he had never seen before.

The invader had light brown hair and a pair of bright eyes staring at him.

He felt a pain in his body, and his whole body had been cut by the wind blade.

At this time, the invader spoke, while he waved his right scepter.

"Go to hell, you damn demon!"

This was the last sentence he heard in his life. He watched the scepter grow bigger in his vision, and felt that his eyes were dark and his head hurt, and he no longer felt any more.

Talos took back the scepter covered with green mucus, and watched the corpse in front of him slump heavily on the ground, stirring up a small piece of dust, "It was a Hezelo, the Fighting Demon."

The head of the warrior corpse was completely flat and could not recognize its shape. Green blood was flowing everywhere, "Good guy, Talos, your attack is so heavy." Hiccrad looked at the corpse at Talos' feet, shook his head and commented.

"Where are the other people? Is the cave clean?"

"It's totally clean," Hickrad replied lightly, "This cave is not big, it's full of cannon fodder characters like Khasai Demon and Devil. It seems that the berserker you killed is here."

"That's wrong," Talos frowned and shook off the green mucus on the scepter hard. "It is absolutely impossible for such a force to turn the world in the empire. In addition, I have not seen those high-level demons. I have not seen either Quxindaren or Nelbito, let alone the existence of a higher position."

"Who knows," Hickrad shrugged, leaning casually against a rock, and replied casually, "maybe those guys might be deeper in the mountains."

"What you said makes sense," Talos inserted the scepter back to his waist, "Get together, we will go deeper!"

The order was soon passed on in the team, and these professional demon hunters began to collect the demon's corpses and piled them neatly at the entrance of the cave.

"Are you all here?"

"Yes, Captain Talos."

"ignition."

Several rune masters who were proficient in the name of fire kept spewing out fire, and the fierce flames quickly ignited the entire pile of demon corpses.

"Let them burn here, for these scum from another world, this is their best destination, let's go!"

Talos slapped his nose, then waved his hand, and quickly left the cave with everyone.

"Uh, finally it's done," Hickrad ran at the front of the team as if he was running for life, covering his nose in disgust. "Although I've been traveling with Saren for so long, I still can't get used to this odor. How did he do it?"

"Same, Hiccrad," Talos nodded with a wry smile, "I'm afraid the teacher is the only demon hunter who can watch the demon burn out without changing his face."

"Talk about this," Hickrad rubbed his nose, "Where do you think Saren is now?"

◇◇◇◇◇

"Ah," Saren was driving the carriage and suddenly sneezes hard.

"What's going on, old guy," Grendill leaned lazily on the carriage seat, his leg swaying outside the car. He looked at Saren, his eyes full of teasing, "It's not that the weather here is too cold, you've caught a cold."

"Only a poor man like you catch a cold here, Glendill," Saren smiled and retaliated, "especially when you're all ragged."

"Hey, this is so hurtful!" Grundill yelled at Saren angrily.

"Save it, Glendill," Saren waved his whip lazily, and didn't look at the angry Glendill, "Your style may be useful to strangers, but it is useless to me at all."

"Okay OK," Grundill smiled again and approached Saren. "When will we eat? I'm a little hungry again."

"It's just noon," Saren looked at the sun above his head first, and then looked helplessly at Glendill, who was sloppy, "Okay," he stopped the carriage with some self-deprecating self-deprecating, "Let's have a meal first!"

"Wait," Grendill suddenly called out to Saren, who was about to stop the car, and his face became extremely serious, "Did you feel it? Something is wrong here."

"What...? Ah, I feel it."

Saren first looked at Glendill with some surprise, and then nodded in a sense, "I sensed some unusual energy fluctuations. I am here and cannot sense the existence of these earths."

"You mean this is an illusion?"

"It's very likely," Saren nodded, "in fact, this path may be illusion, and I can't feel anything that really exists."

"That's interesting," Grundill looked around his surroundings vigilantly. "Who would have placed such a large-scale illusion in such a place?"

"I think you and I should have answers, Glendill," Saren pulled out the broken steel. "Our old friends happen to be proficient in magical magic, and they happen to be here."

"I think so," Grendill stuck out his tongue and licked his lips. "It's a bit boring to simply hunt vampires, but if they can destroy their plans, ha! Then I'm so happy!"

"Can you destroy this illusion, partner," he looked at Saren, "I can't wait to start a big killing!"

"I can destroy it, Grundill, if you want to attract the attention of those vampires," Saren looked at Grundill helplessly. "Maybe you, a violent man, should learn what it means to use your brain, so that your wine will not end up like before."

"Then I'm not Glendill," Glendill shouted, waving his pistol, "Besides," he looked at Saren with a smile, "Isn't you there with me?"

"Go to this side," Saren jumped out of the carriage and walked slowly along the path into the woods in the west. "I could feel the energy flowing out from here."

◇◇◇◇◇

"I said," a whimpering voice came from Kylord's helmet. He raised his head with some difficulty and looked at the mountains that had already fallen into the clouds. "This road is so hard, how long will we go."

"It's almost done," Kara hurried over and helped him up, "We haven't seen the demons along the way, and now the demons are getting more and more serious. I'm afraid their nest is not far ahead."

"Kara is right," Erin covered her nose with one hand, while her other hand kept fanning with a fan. "The stench of the demon here is too strong, and even ordinary people can smell this uncomfortable smell at once."

"Keep going!" Talos's voice came, "Before dark, we must clean up all the demons here!"

"Before dark?" Karen looked up and saw that the sun had walked more than halfway. "It seems that we don't have much time left."

"Snap it," Talos sighed. "It's not suitable to fight these guys at night, and that time is their home court."

The group continued to go up the mountain path. The higher they went up, the more they were, the more they smelled of ammonia, and the smell of foul blood began to be mixed in the middle.

"What's going on? Why is the smell of blood so strong?"

"I don't know, Hickrad," Talos's brow frowned, "but this smell gave me a very bad premonition, we must speed up."

The answer was revealed by Karen ten minutes later - sharp and sharp stone pillars began to appear on both sides of the mountain road and in the mountains. Human corpses were neatly strung on these rugged stone pillars like slaughtered lambs.

"Damn it," Talos angrily pulled out his scepter, and the energy gathered around him into a storm. "These demons are simply bold and lawless! I will never leave any living mouth today!"

No one spoke, everyone felt it, and even Hickrad's face turned gloomy.

"Let's go," his voice became extremely dull, "Let me end it all."

"These people...?"

"Tail it down and bury it on the spot," Talos sighed and looked at Karen, "they shouldn't be hung here, exposed to the scorching sun."

"I understand," Karen's face was a little heavy, "I'll arrange for people to bury the corpses. If there is anything that can confirm their identity, I will recycle them."

The team stopped temporarily. They formed a group of two and began to cut off the stone pillars so as to put down the pierced corpses, some of which were old and some of which were young, and the youngest even looked only seven or eight years old.

"Damn the Devil! Damn the Devil! Damn the Devil!"

Many rune masters shouted in a collapsed state, and the female rune master was already in tears, and sparks of anger began to flash in everyone's eyes.

Twenty minutes later, all the bodies were put down, Karen clenched his fists and returned to Talos, "Most of them have not yet started to rot, and this tragedy may have happened for a few days."

His words silenced everyone. After a while, Talos took a deep breath, "I understand," he spoke with difficulty, and two lines of hot tears rolled down his cheeks, "I was dereliction of duty!" He punched hard on the stone wall of the mountain beside him, and he directly smashed a small hole in the mountain wall.

"The devil should have been the surveillance target of our rune division," the 34-year-old man, about to be thirty-five, slowly kneeled down to the ground in pain, and tears poured out from his fingers covering his face. "These innocent people, they may be woodcutters, travelers, and merchants, they should not have died here!"

"Then open your eyes and look at them for the last time!"

Hiccrad suddenly roared, and he walked to Talos with great strides, his golden hair dancing, and his whole body looked like a furious lion.

He raised Talos, who was one head taller than him, "Open my eyes and look at these poor dead people well, so that they can be a shame and warning to your life! Your teacher, Saren, once told me that sadness and crying can do nothing, and can't turn any tragedy."

He slapped hard, and Talos's left half of his face immediately swollen, "Take this as a lesson, all rune masters! Let these innocent people remind you what your responsibilities are! And whether you can afford this responsibility!"

All the rune masters lowered their heads in shame, "Think about it carefully, whether the luxurious life in the imperial capital and the peaceful scene have corrupted your hearts!"

After saying that, Hiccrad threw Talos away, "If you can't do it well, look at these people!" He pointed hard at Karen and others beside him, "Even a group of civilians can do better than you! Who are you? You are the elite of the empire, the pride of heaven, the powerful rune master, and the extremely powerful brutal war demon in front of you, the extremely powerful one, is a piece of shit in front of you."

"But now? I think you are a piece of shit too!"

He kicked Talos hard again, "If you still have some self-esteem, stop squatting on the ground like a coward and crying. Stand up and take these people to kill the demons with your own hands! You are the great heroes in the minds of ordinary people. Do you need me to say more?"

Talos raised his head suddenly, looked at Hiccrad's gaze, and nodded firmly, "Get up, soldiers of the Rune Division!"

Ten soldiers from the Rune Division stopped crying. They gritted their teeth and climbed up from the ground one by one. "Follow me, shame can only be washed by blood. Now, follow me and kill every demon you see until you die!"

"charge!"

Talos held up the scepter and rushed up the mountain road with ten rune masters.
