Chapter 11 Showdown
The most urgent task is to deal with other members of the Knight Hunting Team. While the bonus of the momentum was still there, I raised my sword and rushed towards a mage. I did not forget that they just ruined my good things.
The mage became obviously panicked when he saw me approaching. He didn't bring any weapons on his body to facilitate casting, and the shotgunman closest to him was also outside the effective range of killing.
"Go to see the God of Light, you coward," I jumped up quickly, wielding the broken steel sword in my hand and chopped towards his head.
"Don't be that fast, Saren, don't be so fast," Curt's annoying voice came from behind me, followed by the loud gunshots of the revolver. The gun rang three times in total, and I didn't think he would use ordinary bullets to deal with me, so I gritted my teeth and had to change the direction I aimed at, so I avoided his attack.
"See it," Curt laughed proudly, "I won't let you kill my teammates again, I swear."
"Then you have to work hard," I raised the sword in my hand again, "because I haven't tried my best yet!"
As the words fell, the rune enchantment was also activated. This was the name I gave. It did not belong to any rune technique, but was just a rough technique that bound the power of things to weapons.
I chose a whirlwind, a gust of cyan energy emerged from my sword, turning into a wind visible to the naked eye, surrounding my sword and body and constantly spinning.
"Come and try this, you group of empire rats." I used my feet slightly, and with the addition of the rainbow, I rushed towards the mage like lightning and launched a second attack on him.
Under the dual effects of wind and rainbow, I came to the mage almost instantly. The long sword in my hand became as fast as a phantom with the addition of wind-type enchantment. Before the mage could release its shield, its entire head was neatly cut off by the Broken Steel Sword.
I turned around with my sword, and behind me was the slowly falling headless corpse, and the broken neck of my neck was still spraying blood outward. "This is the first one." I looked at Cotkelasis provocatively, "Maybe you are good at dealing with knights, but I am not just knights."
"You bastard, damn bitch," Curt's face became extremely ferocious, like a demon who chose people in the mythological story. "You have to pay the price for your crimes, and I will cut off your blood-stained hands to pay tribute to my comrades!"
He gritted his teeth and opened the revolver's nest, and began to fill it with a kind of bullet carved with green runes one by one, while other members of the hunting team surrounded me.
"For the Empire! You demon, you die!" A rare member of the hunting team in armor rushed to me and raised his shotgun and rushed towards me, "Try the wrath of the will of the Holy Emperor!"
I curled my lips with some anger, summoned a grand aura shield to block it, and at the same time I used my mental power to thicken it continuously. I held the broken steel tightly with the other hand and rushed towards this annoying guy.
The bullets with green light almost all hit my shield, and the entire shield began to flicker violently. My brain seemed to return to Birmington, and was once again in a dizzy state.
But this time there was only one person, and his damn enchantment bullets. God knows how the Empire invented this kind of bullet that restrains the knights. It not only restrains the knight's divine power, but this was reflected in the previous battles. It also restrains the rune art of the rune master!
"Great!" the man raised his gun and shouted, "Comrades, this evil man is also afraid of the sacred ammunition blessed by the emperor. His evil shield was shaking in just one blow. Let's go up together and purify this foreign demon! For the Empire!"
"It's very good, I want to applaud you all," I adjusted the mental power in my brain and stood there and sneered. "It seems that it's impossible to count on you rats to understand that the honor of fair showdown is not possible."
"But when did I say that I am an ordinary kingdom knight?" I twisted my neck and the dragon's heart began to beat violently. "Since you know who I am, you should know my title. The 'Red Dragon' Saren is not just a saying!"
The blood of the red dragon flows through the limbs and bones. I can feel a part of my body awakening and belonging to the dragon.
"Stories are often not just stories!" I grinned, my body suddenly raised in their shocked eyes, red scales grew on both hands, and fingers turned into sharp claws. I raised the broken steel, and the neat and reflective sword body was no longer the young Salon, but the "red dragon" Salon with a dragon head and a golden vertical pupil.
Compared to the last dragon transformation, I can feel more things this time. I can hear my body roaring wildly, the flames burning, the breeze blowing, and the flow of streams. The real names of things I know are gathered in my body at this moment, as if I was born with them. I have a feeling that I don’t have to shout anything or draw anything. Just one thought can make things act according to my mind.
"Now," I spoke slowly, my voice like a bell, "Recognize me again, I am the 'Red Dragon' Saren." With a thought in my mind, a violent flame ignited on the broken steel, intertwined with the strong wind.
"I am the great knight of the kingdom, the escaped imperial bard," I thought of a brand new, never-before-existed profession, so I smiled and said, "But I prefer you call me, the Dragon Vein Rune Master."
The dragon-turned body brings a hundred times stronger than before. Although I don’t know how long this state can last, it is enough for me to kill all the six people in front of me.
"For victory!" I raised my sword high, roared in my mouth, and my divine power instantly turned into golden light. I could feel my body becoming much lighter. So I moved slightly and almost instantly came to the armored soldier who shot.
"The armor is not something you wear," I raised my sword, cut his armor open like lightning, and cut him into two pieces, "So you'd better die."
An ice-type energy arrow hit from the side. If it were me before, I might be scared, but now?
I stretched out a hand and firmly grabbed the energy arrow that condensed from essence in the shocked gaze of the hunting team, and then crushed it to pieces. The mage who cast this spell didn't know what was going on, so he stayed in place.
"You really should read more ancient books," I smiled at the at a loss mage, "The dragon has excellent magic resistance." As I spoke, a ball of flame slowly condensed on the hand I reached out, forming a javelin.
"It's not a polite thing to come but not to go," I moved my hand that raised the gun back and took a left foot to form a horse stance. "This flame javelin is the gift I sent back to you!" My feet, waist and hands exerted force at the same time, and the power of the dragon completely exploded on the gun. The gun was like lightning, and it flew to the mage in less than a breath, and then penetrated him, flew into the Imperial Army troops in the distance like lightning, and exploded into a huge fireball.
The wreckage of the mage fell straight to the ground, and there was a small hole formed by a javelin piercing through his chest. The moment the fire gun penetrated him, he died, and his internal organs were burned clean.
"This is the third one. It's time for the great hero to stop me, right?" I shook my hand and spoke in a tone like doing something trivial. "Or are you going to run away again, Cotkelasis?"
"You, bastard..." A voice with both anger and sadness slowly came into my ears. The voice's master was biting his lower lip tightly and staring at me with wide eyes. His anger was so strong that his lips were bitten and blood was flowing everywhere, and he didn't know it.
"You guys, retreat." He inserted his revolver back to his waist and looked at me coldly. "This is a matter between me and him."
"Hissergeant Curt..." A soldier holding a shotgun and a spear logo on his shoulder spoke eagerly, apparently intending to stay and fight side by side with Curt.
"I said! Retreat all, don't sacrifice your lives here!" Curt interrupted him in a rough tone before the soldier finished speaking, "I said this is my business with him."
The members of the hunting team were silent for a while, "I wish you a safe return, Lord Cott," the soldier who spoke before continued, "We will be glad to see you come back with this...the demon's head."
"Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing that scene too." Curt showed a cruel smile at them. The hunting team members except him quickly left the battlefield, leaving Curt standing in front of me.
I stood there without moving. As a knight, of course I would not despair to attack the retreating enemies.
"Come on," I hooked up at Curt, "I am a dragon now, and I won't bully you with weapons."
"I will kill you, the evil demon," Curt said with a cold expression, "But before this, I still want to ask you why you are unwilling to return to the Empire? Why can't you go to the Ministry of Justice to explain the matter clearly, why do you slaughter the soldiers of the Empire unscrupulously! You are an imperialist! You must believe that the laws of the Empire will give you a fair judgment, but you chose to revenge! You have killed countless innocent imperial soldiers, and becoming a knight like you is simply an irony, Salenovis!"
"You are still so naive, Curtkelasis," I laughed disdainfully, "A three-year-old child knows that the courts of the Empire are unfair! If I go back, I will only become the next victim of Picchi's power!"
"They have killed Sally, I don't allow them to kill more people, they must die!"
"So that's the case," Curt shook his head and pulled out his two swords from behind, "we have nothing to talk about. I've given you a chance to redeem yourself, Saren, you gave up."
"Put your disgusting sense of justice, Curt," I frowned impatiently, "Only the so-called great hero like you, can immerse yourself in the satisfaction of persuading others and saving others every day."
I inserted the broken steel back into the scabbard and rushed towards him with a pair of claws. "The problem is," I reached out and hit him in the stomach. "A miserable person like us needs not heroes, but revenge!"
"You unsuccessful stupid pig!" Curt's body was on the side, and two long swords slashed at me in the face.
"Maybe, I'm tired of the inexplicable sense of justice, pride and empire style." I clenched my claws into fists to block his two long swords. "I will return to the empire one day. I will let the empire bring Pic to me and judge him for me. I will let them overturn the accusations against me."
"You... evildoer." Curt obviously moved his true fire, and his sword kept attacking me from left to right, "What do you think of the sacred laws of the empire as!?"
"Idiot," I roared, and my palm turned into a knife, forced his sword to open, and punched him hard in the stomach. "The sacred imperial law in your mouth is just a toy in the upper-level relationship network."
"Very good, Salenovis," Curt suddenly took a few steps back and stood still with a gloomy face. "You really angered me, you villain." He put his hands on his chest, and the two one-handed long swords were joined together, turning into a thick two-handed long sword.
"It's different." I murmured to myself, watching him raise the blue-light giant sword.
"Accept the judgment of justice! You villain!" He jumped up hard, and his whole body rotated at high speed like a top in the air. The giant sword with both hands blew a powerful storm and rushed towards me like this.
"Damn it, you never said you could do this again," I hurriedly pulled out the broken steel. This is definitely not an attack that I can withstand by relying on my physical body.
"Victory is right in front of me!" I shouted, taking a firm step forward, and the long sword in my hand slashed out another golden wave of energy light, hitting the sword blade whirlwind in the air.
The Evil Slash hit the hurricane formed by the giant sword and suddenly exploded in mid-air, causing a violent shock wave.
"Did you find it useless?" Curt's smug laughed in the air, "This is the special combat skills and weapons of the Inquisition."
"Did the court... I thought you had disbanded long ago." I was a little surprised, "Try my trick."
I inserted the sword back to my waist, and a surging stream of water emerged from the void and lingered on my left arm. "Let me see how you block this." I raised my hand slightly, and the stream instantly condensed into an energy arrow and shot at Curt.
The energy arrow easily penetrated the whirlwind formed by the sword blade as I thought, hitting Curt at the eye of the wind.
"You can actually penetrate the outer layer of protection!" Curt's voice sounded a little angry, "It's worthy of praise...but this power is too weak. Do you want to defeat me with this spell?"
"I don't think I can defeat you in this way." The whirlwind formed by Curt rushed towards me. I hid in a little embarrassed manner. A whip made of water suddenly threw out, tied Curt's giant sword tightly. His speed became slower and slower, and finally stopped in place.
"What kind of spell are you?" Curt shouted in shock and angrily, "I have never seen a water-type mage in the empire use it!"
"I told you," I walked up to him and punched him in the stomach. "I am a rune master, not a mage." As I said, I didn't forget to pull the whip back in my hand so that I could get his sword in my hand.
