Chapter 4 The Dog-Headed Soldier

"What new guy?"

Li Zhiyi asked as he changed into his slippers and walked into the living room. Long Qi pointed to a strange girl sitting on the sofa in the living room with his hands and introduced: "Sister Ming, I just came to New York not long ago. I am your senior sister."

Li Zhiyi said "Oh" to show that he understood. He first nodded to everyone in the apartment as a greeting, and then smiled and joked to the senior: "Hello senior, welcome to Xinxiang, a big city in the United States. Does senior have a boyfriend?"

"...Not yet, you are the classmate they call Xiao Li, you are indeed quite handsome." The senior sister looks like she is very good at chatting.

Li Zhiyi nodded and replied that the senior sister was also very beautiful. He washed his hands politely and walked into the open kitchen to help. Long Qi went to the living room to chat with others, glancing at him from time to time.

"What's going on today? Why are there so many people?" Li Zhiyi asked softly, rolling up his sleeves.

The girl with a round head who was busy in the open kitchen sighed helplessly when she heard this: "Sister Wang and I, plus you and Qi Qi, and this new young lady, there are five people, and then Jiaming and the other three.

I have made an appointment with Sister Wang a long time ago to come over for dinner tonight."

"Long Qi was not called by me." Li Zhiyi cleared the air and praised, "If you want to talk about connections, it must be my sister Wang, the undisputed number one social queen of Harmanton."

The girl with a round head is named Qiao Yang, who is a senior at Barnard College. She and Sister Wang share this apartment. Jiaming is their upstairs neighbor, three Chinese students from Columbia Law School.

"What's the matter with you? Why do you feel that you are getting colder and colder towards Qi Qi?"

Qiao Yang and Li Zhiyi have the best relationship in the small circle of mainland international students in Harmonton, and Qiao Yang has a good relationship after meeting Li Zhiyi and Long Qi, so she knows the bloody stories between the two.

Li Zhiyi used his dexterous fingers to modify the chicken wings: "My attitude towards her has never changed. It's just that she is becoming more and more proactive."

Since his rebirth, he has never done anything to Long Qi, but what can Long Qi say? She is not a green tea scumbag in the conventional sense.

This girl comes from a well-to-do family, is beautiful and versatile, has a GPA of 4.0 all year round and has a waistcoat score.

She doesn't care much about the material needs that ordinary green tea scum girls pursue. She fishes purely for spiritual satisfaction and enjoys the feeling of being liked.

So when Li Zhiyi, the big fish that she had chased all the way from China to New York, suddenly decoupled, Long Qi felt a sense of disparity. She began to take the initiative with Li Zhiyi, making appointments for dinner, shopping, and watching Broadway ball games.

During the first few appointments, Li Zhiyi wanted to make her give up so he didn't refuse. But for some reason, after meeting several times, Long Qi not only didn't give up, but actually felt like the girl was chasing after him.

By the time Li Zhiyi realized something was wrong, Long Qi had already integrated into most of the people in his life and study circle, such as Qiao Yang and Henry, so the relationship between the two now seemed to be a bit chaotic and confusing to the observer.

"Okay, no matter what, I think... Qi Qi is a good girl."

Halfway through his words, Qiao Yang realized that no matter how good the relationship was, he was not suitable to be a dog-headed strategist in matters such as relationships. He stopped abruptly and issued a good guy card.

Li Zhiyi wanted to only see the situation of the past year or so as a drama of an infatuated girl chasing a scumbag, but when the timeline was pulled back, the identities in the previous life were exchanged. However, this was not enough for outsiders, so he could only change the subject with a playful smile.

Sister, you are still a child and you don’t understand adult matters.

Qiao Yang couldn't stand his old-fashioned behavior at such a young age. Hearing this, he waved a spatula and threatened the kid to call him sister. Li Zhiyi bowed his head in cooperation and admitted his mistake, and kept marinating the chicken wings with seasonings.

The two of them were chatting and laughing in the kitchen while working together to prepare dinner. On the other side of the living room, everyone was playing small games in Sister Wang's lively atmosphere.

Their small cooking circle has a tacit understanding of the division of labor. Qiao Yang is the chef, and Sister Wang pays for the water, electricity and gas. Anyone else who comes to pay for the meal will consciously be responsible for post-meal hygiene or buying some food.

This is the case this time. Jiaming, who lives above Qiao Yang and the others, returned to China during the summer vacation. This time he brought back specialties from his hometown when school started, so he brought them to everyone to eat together.

Beef fillet with Sichuan pepper, braised pork ribs with green beans, braised eggplant, cola chicken wings, cold folded ear root, sugar garlic and preserved egg salad...

The dishes and seasonings are all made from human flesh and are made into a table of special delicacies from all over the motherland. That is to say, I don’t have a circle of friends right now, otherwise I would definitely be on the Weibo Harmanton area hot search list or something.

However, this does not affect the few girls, because they can still use Facebook, which has just launched a Chinese section not long ago.

Everyone struggled for a long time before they were seated. Sister Wang took the lead and once again welcomed Miss Mingming to join. After the 'Manhattan Orphaned Youth Health Club', the meal was finally served.

Since Mingming had just arrived in New York, most of the conversation at the dinner table revolved around her. Plus, with Long Qi around, Li Zhiyi just ate and rarely spoke.

After a lively meal, it was 8:30 in the evening. Everyone saw that it was getting late and started cleaning up together. Then the other three boys and Miss Mingming took the lead to say goodbye and go back to their homes.

Then Sister Wang put on makeup and left home to attend a party. In the blink of an eye, only Li Zhiyi, Qiao Yang, and Long Qi were left in the apartment.

The reason why Li Zhiyi hasn't left yet is because he is waiting for Qiao Yang to return to the school dormitory. This young lady is a rich woman. She only rents a house so that she can cook her own meals. She usually lives in the school dormitory.

A few streets away from the Columbia University campus was the black area, and Qiao Yang didn't dare to walk alone at night.

However, Li Zhiyi reasonably suspected that Qiao Yang was acting as a wingman for her good sister Long Qi, because the girl excused herself to get some cosmetics and then went back to the bedroom to give him and Long Qi some space alone.

"Are you feeling unwell? You haven't spoken much yet?" Long Qi asked, taking the initiative to find a topic.

Li Zhiyi stretched his legs and stretched his crotch while lying on the sofa to smoke: "No, I'm just tired from class."

"My courses this semester are also very heavy. I recently learned about art and humanities which is quite interesting. What courses have you learned now?"

"Confessions, The Tempest."

Li Zhiyi and his two core courses of literature, humanities and contemporary civilization hardly follow the textbooks, and the professor prefers to let students study the original works.

"The professor of arts and humanities who teaches us is a stage actor. She gave me some tickets for a performance. It seems that "The Storm" happened to be available. Do you want to go see it?"

Long Qi Zhuangruo said unintentionally, and Li Zhiyi casually refused and said that he had no time to write an essay recently. He took leave on Monday not in vain. The professor said that since you took leave to visit Goldman Sachs, then write about the US credit market.

"So you're going to spend time in the library?" Long Qi said with a smile.

Li Zhiyi smiled and said nothing after hearing this. Long Qi could always unknowingly control the rhythm of the conversation to achieve her goal, as if he could guess what others were going to say next.

Qiao Yang in the bedroom also seemed to know some magic tricks like "talking to others". As soon as the two of them finished talking, Shi Shiran came out carrying a small paper bag.
