Chapter 137: Thief Marshall(1/2)

Just when Muchen was waiting for Marshall.

Two players walked into the tavern and went straight to the bar, with the same purpose as Muchen.

All for hiring thieves and heading to Night Town.

The bartender told them.

There are currently no thieves going to Night Town. If they are willing to pay more money, there are some thieves who are willing to go.

The two players discussed in a low voice.

Maybe because I was short of money, I finally decided not to hire him.

Looking at the leaving figures of the two players, Muchen's eyes showed a hint of thoughtfulness.

Wait for an hour to pass.

Marshall arrived at the store on time.

He is in his mid-twenties, wearing a black mask, night clothes, and animal scale leather armor. He has a dagger and a hand crossbow hanging on his waist, and behind his back is a concealed weapon pouch and a crossbow quiver.

Standard thief outfit.

Marshall walked into the store, came to the bar, and asked the bartender for a large glass of ale.

When the bartender poured him a drink, he also told Muchen about his plan to hire him.

Marshall turned his head and glanced at Muchen.

Then, carrying a beer, he came and sat down next to Muchen.

"I heard from the bartender that you want to hire me to go to Night Town?"

"That's right."

"How much are you prepared to give?"

"How much do you want?"

Marshall pondered: "Two thousand?"

"Can."

"Okay, I'm going to leave tonight, can you go?"

"able."

Marshall took a sip of beer, exhaled a long breath of satisfaction, and said, "You are not a thief, what are you going to do in Night Town?"

"Find someone."

"Who is it? Maybe I know it and can help you find it," he said.

"The wife of the owner of the Sword and Rose Tavern."

"So you are looking for her, yes, I should have thought of it a long time ago. When I go to Night Town to look for someone, who else can I look for besides her?" Marshall said with a smile.

"You know her?"

Marshall took another sip of wine and said, "Of course we know her. I drank with her in a pub before, but I advise you to give up."

"Why?" Muchen was curious.

"This world is very dangerous. There are monsters everywhere in the wild, and dead people are common. If you disappear for a day or two, there is still hope of survival, but if you have been missing for three years, the chance of survival is very slim."

Marshall raised his glass and took a swig of beer.

He continued: "Although it is cruel to say this, she is probably dead, and it is time for Paul to give up."

"Time can heal wounds. In one or two years, he may feel uncomfortable. After eight or nine years, he will feel better. Then he can find someone young and beautiful. That will be fine."

"He loves her very much. I'm afraid he will never forget her."

"Don't be stupid. We are all men. It is our nature to be greedy for money and lustful. Love is just for fools."

After Marshall finished speaking, he drank all the beer in the oak cup in one breath.

He yelled at the bartender: "Another drink!"

Then, Marshall turned to look at Muchen and asked, "Where did I say just now?"

"Love is for fools." Muchen said.

"Oh, yes! Love is a trick for fools, you must not believe it!"

Muchen said solemnly: "I still want to go to Night Town."

"Okay, if you are willing, that's fine. I also want to earn your two thousand gold coins."

Marshall laughed and said:

"For the sake of the gold coins you gave me, let me buy you a drink. What would you like to drink?"

"Ginger ale."

Muchen was not polite either.

"Okay, bartender, another ginger ale."

"okay."

the bartender responded.

Muchen took advantage of the situation and asked: "By the way, do you know the reason for the martial law in Night Town?"

"I don't know, and I don't want to know. Anyway, as long as I can move without hindrance, I don't want to worry about it."

Marshall suddenly smiled and said:

"Perhaps the Thieves Guild feels sorry for us, so it issued such a strange order.

Non-thieves who want to enter the town must be accompanied by a thief. This is obviously to make us earn more money."

Muchen also smiled and said: "It seems that the benefits of the Thieves Guild are quite good."

“It’s just so-so.

To be honest, the benefits are not as good as those of the Assassins' Guild and the Killers' Guild, which are the only ones that make money.

Our Thieves Guild can’t make much money either.”

After speaking, Marshall sighed with a melancholy look on his face.

Just then the bartender came over with a large glass of ale and ginger ale.

Marshall loves to drink.

After getting the beer, I drank most of it in one go.

Besides loving to drink, he is also quite talkative.

Marshall said to Muchen: "You said you wanted to go to Night Town, I thought you wanted to go treasure hunting."

"What treasure are you looking for?"

Muchen asked again.

This was the second time he heard this answer.

The first time was from the bartender.

The second time was Marshall.

It seems that whenever they go to Night Town, they default to treasure hunting.

Moreover, the two players who had just arrived and were planning to hire a thieves guide went to Night Town to hunt for treasure.

What treasures are there in Night Town?

"I don't know, I don't know how long it started, it seems like it started this week.

There are rumors on the street that there is a treasure buried in Night Town.

Isn’t this nonsense? If there was a treasure, it would have been dug up by the Thieves Guild long ago, and it’s not the turn of outsiders?”

Marshall said with disdain.

"Where did the rumor come from?"

Muchen asked.

Marshall replied: "It's the Flame Rose Tavern. It's a gathering place for outsiders like you. I don't know if you've been there."

Foreigner.

It is the name given to players by the natives of the Dawn World.

Just like players can distinguish NPCs in the crowd at a glance.

NPCs can also recognize players at a glance.

Hear the Flame Rose Tavern.

Muchen was startled.
