Just like when printing and copying, some problems such as black dots, leakages, and ink marks are inevitable. Lithography machines, which should be lithographically etched, are more likely to occur in various errors. Otherwise, the lithography machine will not have to be produced in a workshop that is absolutely dust-free, constant temperature, constant humidity, and constant light, because any subtle environmental changes will lead to the printing results being very different.

But no matter how careful it is, errors will still occur. As long as there is a problem with one transistor in the chip when it is printed, it may cause the entire chip to be ruined and cannot be calculated.

And this kind of problem will almost inevitably arise.

So after the wafer printing is completed, a process is to test whether the chip can work normally. If it cannot work normally, it will be directly beaten into waste.

In the end, how many chips can be found in the 100 chips cut from a wafer can work normally? Passing the test means the yield of this lithography machine.

As an old lithography machine manufacturer, AMSL's yield rate is only 65%, and sometimes it even drops below 50%, but this is already the highest level in the industry.

As for the lithography machine Daqian built himself, Boss Jia found that after checking the 100 chips cut from the entire wafer, there were only 17 chips that could work normally, and the remaining 83 chips failed.

Therefore, the current yield rate of Daqian lithography machine is only 17%, but it is not even 1/3 of AMSL. This means that only Daqian lithography machines can compare with the efficiency of AMSL lithography machine. It is natural to choose what choices the buyer will make.

In addition to the crucial issue of yield rate, the lithography machine in front of us is just a prototype. If it wants to reach the level of mass production models, there are still many problems.

In addition, in the laboratory, many patents are used whenever they want, and there is no need to consider the patent issue. But once it is launched on the market, if the lithography machine uses unauthorized patents or technology, it will definitely bring astronomical compensation.

In addition, there are also packaging technology issues, detection technology issues, lens issues, etc. A lot of problems are placed in front of Boss Jia.

In general, although the technology has made breakthroughs, it is still far from enough to actually manufacture it and compete with companies such as AMSL!
