Chapter 58 The Scholars in the World Are One Family

Chapter 58 The world’s scholars are one family

Ancient literature school, modern literature school...

The two factions have had their feud for a long time, but with the development of the times, the two factions have gradually shown signs of integration.

The Jinwen School is a school formed during the Han Dynasty based on the study of Confucian classics. The Jinwen Jing studied refers to the scriptures and explanations that were recited by old Confucians and passed down orally in the early Han Dynasty. The disciples used the official script (Jinwen) at that time.

Recorded classics, such as "Book of Changes" by Tian He, "Book of Books" by Fu Sheng, "Book of Songs" by Shen Pei, "Book of Rites" by Gaotang Sheng, and "Spring and Autumn" by Gongyang and Guliang.

The ancient literature school is an academic school that studies ancient classics in Confucian classics. The ancient classics refer to the classics collected from the people or discovered in the walls of Confucius' former residence in the early Han Dynasty and written in ancient pre-Qin characters. For example, during the period of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty, King Gong of Lu and Liu Yu

In order to expand the palace, the old room of Confucius was demolished, and the ancient classics "Shang Shu", "Book of Rites", "The Analects of Confucius", and "The Book of Filial Piety" were found in the damaged walls. Liu De, the king of Hejian Xian, purchased the old pre-Qin books "Zhou Guan" and "Shang Shu".

", "Rites", "Book of Rites", "Mencius", "Laozi", "Poetry", "Chunqiu Zuo Shi Zhuan" and other scriptures.

Therefore, the modern literature school actually took shape earlier than the ancient literature school, and its early development was much better than that of the ancient literature school.

Especially since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty "exclusively respected Confucianism", all the Doctors of the Five Classics established were from Jinwen Jingxue! This resulted in Jinwen Jingxue's long-term monopoly on official scholarship in the Han Dynasty.

After that, Jinwen Jingxue gradually fell into rigidity and cumbersomeness, and combined with prophecies and predictions, became absurd, and finally declined in the late Western Han Dynasty.

The ancient literature school continued to develop in silence. It was not until Wang Mang usurped the Han Dynasty that the ancient literature school was established as an "official school" by the Han court.

However, Wang Mang was later attacked by Liu Xiu, the son of the plane. In order to use the prophecies to consolidate his power, Liu Xiu promoted modern literature and abolished ancient literature, causing the ancient literature school to temporarily fall into decline.

But it’s still the same sentence – “The development of history cannot be changed by personal will.”

Wang Mang and his new dynasty were swept into the rubbish heap, but ancient classics continued to thrive. Finally, during the reign of Emperor Zhang of the Eastern Han Dynasty, under the initiative of Jia Kui, a great scholar of ancient classics, "The Biography of Zuo Shi in the Spring and Autumn Period" and "The Biography of Gu Liang in the Spring and Autumn Period" were published.

", "Guwen Shangshu" and "Mao Shi" are combined into the "Four Classics" and are listed as official studies!

Even though the Modern Literature School had the glory of "White Tiger Tongyi" during the Eastern Han Dynasty, in the end it was just a return to the past and soon fell at the feet of the Ancient Literature School, which was more suitable for the development of the times.

Until the middle and late Eastern Han Dynasty...

As social conflicts intensify, both the ancient school of literature, which is at its peak, and the modern school of literature, which is dying, have begun to reform themselves, trying to find a more suitable way out for this era.

At this time, Confucianism has not abandoned the core of Confucianism's "human needs". Facing the long night, it still has the courage to light the torch and welcome the darkness.

The representative figures are Ma Rong and Zheng Xuan.

Ma Rong synthesized various schools of thought and paid careful attention to the classics, making ancient classics begin to reach a mature level.

His disciple Zheng Xuan focused his studies on ancient classics and also adopted modern classics. He was the master of classics in the Han Dynasty and unified ancient and modern classics. The world calls his knowledge "Zheng Xue".

Thanks to the efforts of generations of Confucian scholars and the influence of troubled times, ancient Chinese and modern literature schools have rarely entered a honeymoon period, and the Yin family of Nanyang, a family of ancient Chinese classics, is no exception.

Today, the Yin family is among the most famous people in the world. Although there has never been a high-ranking official like Sangong, its power in the scholarly community cannot be underestimated.

When they received a letter from Yin's mother, who had already married outside, they decided to help after a moment of hesitation.

It's just that the Yin family has neither high-ranking officials nor great scholars in this generation, so it's still a bit weak to reach out to Xuchang.

"In this case, we can only ask Hua Ziyu for help."

Huaziyu is Hua Xin.

In his early years, Hua Xin became a disciple of Taiwei Chen Qiu, and was a fellow disciple of Lu Zhi, Zheng Xuan, Guan Ning, etc. Later, he was recruited by General He Jin and served as Shangshu Lang, and he also had a close friendship with He Jin.

If a person with such a qualified reputation and status comes forward, He Yan can naturally be saved.

Hua Xin previously served as the governor of Yuzhang in Jiangdong. Later, because Sun Ce took over Jiangdong, he temporarily lived in Jiangdong.

Not long ago, Cao Cao went to the emperor and used the emperor's edict to transfer Hua Xin back from Jiangdong, and now he serves as Yilang and military commander.

When the letter from the Yin family reached Hua Xin's hands, Hua Xin was a little confused.

The fact that He Yan killed Yuan Lang has now become a hot topic in Xuchang. To come forward at this time is to stand on the opposite side of all the anti-Cao scholars.

So Hua Xin went up to ask his friend Zheng Hun about this issue.

Zheng Hun is the younger brother of the famous scholar Zheng Tai, and Zheng Tai also served as the Minister of Secretariat under He Jin...

There was no other way. As a relative, He Jin had to rely on the power of scholars from all over the world to compete with the eunuchs.

So despite the various claims that He Jin was "born as a butcher", he was a serious "scholar spokesman" at that time...

When Zheng Hun heard Hua Xin ask him, he directly asked back: "Does Duke Hua think that he is not now an enemy of the scholars who oppose Sikong?"

Hua Xin suddenly realized it!

Don't forget that his official position is "Sikong Military"!

It can be said that from the time Hua Xin left Jiangdong, came to Xuchang and accepted the official position awarded by Cao Cao, he was no longer "one of his own" among the anti-Cao scholars.

Zheng Hun added: "Besides, although He Yan is the adopted son of Sikong, his surname is still He after all, and he is the only surviving bloodline of General He! If we see him in danger, how can we walk in the world with our appearance?"

It is estimated that even He Yan, who is currently in prison, did not expect that the energy behind him was so great.

He Jin was the last leader of the world's scholars in the court.

Dong Zhuo originally wanted to be his successor, but unfortunately... he failed.

Later,

No matter Yuan Shu, Yuan Shao, or Cao Cao, they all wanted to be the "leader of the scholarly court".

Yuan Shu had his sights set on Ma Rixi, the grandson of Ma Rong, the master of classical Chinese classics.

Yuan Shao took aim at Lu Zhi.

Cao Cao took the opportunity to take Hua Xin away.

The reason is Shilin's huge human resources.

But now, this resource will temporarily fall on He Yan.

"Too."

When Hua Xin heard what Zheng Hun said, he immediately stopped worrying.

"General He Jin was kind to me that day. I can't just sit back and watch General He Jin's only bloodline be cut off."

"Besides, I think Sikong is really a wise master. If you just sit back and do nothing, I'm afraid you will lose your original intention."

Hua Xin tidied up his clothes: "So, it's time to meet some "old friends"!"
