Chapter 18 Heimerdinger

After lunch, Zell went out with a bag of Poluo snacks.

The place he went to was Piltwolf University, the college he had attended before.

A few years have passed, and I don’t know how it has become.

When I arrived at the entrance of the university, the first thing I saw was a gilded statue standing on a sphere, shining in the brilliant sunshine.

The statue holds a wrench in one hand and drags the core of Hex with the other, opening its arms towards the sun.

This is a statue of Cecil B. Hemerdinger, the founder of Piltwolf University and the dean of the college.

Even if he was removed from the parliament, he still could not change the fact that he was the president.

He is the person Zel is looking for.

According to the memory's guidance, Zell came to the door of the dean's office.

After tidying up the tie and buttons a little, he knocked on the door.

"Please come in."

A sharp voice came from the office, which was no different from Zell's memory.

"Ri'an, Professor Hemerdinger, I'm really embarrassed to take the liberty to disturb you."

On the barrest, a short figure turned around and looked at Zel through a pair of glasses.

"Oh, I remember you, the guy from the Gillammann family. Haven't you graduated?"

Hemerdinger has a dense beard and furry face, and he comes from a magical race called Yodel.

Zell felt that he could recognize himself among the hundreds of students he taught because of his racial talent.

This memory is really great.

"Yes, I've graduated for a few years. This time I came to visit, mainly because I wanted to ask the professor about some questions."

Zell touched the back of his head awkwardly. If Hemerdinger knew that he would ask questions about technology next, I wonder what this research maniac would think.

"Okay, I like to answer questions the most. It's rare that you have a desire for knowledge. Do you need me to prepare tools to demonstrate?"

Hemerdinger was about to jump off the chair when he was stopped by Zell: "No! No! It's just some common sense questions. Just sit and talk, there's no need to do it."

To this day, Hemerdinger's vivid and humorous lecture style and unpredictable terrible teaching demonstrations have left an indelible impression in the hearts of Piltwolf's smart people.

Hemerdinger was a traditional school before, and because he had seen the disasters caused by magic, he was very resistant to the development of Hex Technology.

He believes that technology driven by magic will sooner or later cause harm to the City of Progress.

But a series of things that happened later gradually changed his view. He realized that the existence of technology was to improve people's lives. He was so fragrant that he studied Hex Technology more enthusiastically than anyone else, and even did experiments in class to scare the students.

He said that, but Hemerdinger is a good person except for some fanaticism in research.

For example, the professor and his former assistant professor Victor.

Victor, who was born in Zuan, was weak since childhood, but he was very eager for knowledge and always yearned for Piltwolf University on the ground.

But he was poor and could not afford the college tuition at all, and all his parents could do was buy him a school uniform.

Victor wore this school uniform and scrambled into the school, trying hard to listen to lectures and study.

The clever Hemerdinger first discovered this strange but hardworking student and asked Victor to be his assistant.

Otherwise, once the matter is revealed, Victor, who comes to Zuan, will be attacked by those Picheng students who think they are superior.

It was because of his encounter with Hemerdinger that Victor was able to enter university to study in his official capacity.

He did not disappoint Hemerdinger. Later, the Hex Flying Gate jointly developed by Victor and Jace became Piltwolf's most proud work in one fell swoop, bringing huge wealth to the city.

Of course, Hemdinger also participated in the Hex Flying Gate project, and he integrated into the portal concept of Bandell City, so that these two people could accomplish this feat in just a few years.

...

Seeing Hemerdinger sitting on the chair, Zell asked, "Professor, what I want to ask is, do you know how to make Poluo breed?"

His question made Hemerdinger stunned: "I remember you are not from the biological system."

"I am from the Finance Department, but I have adopted a few Poluo recently. I have only seen a professor raising Poluo, so I come to ask you. Please accept these Poluo snacks."

Zell studied in the Department of Finance at the University, which was his parents' arrangement, but what he really liked was the Department of Biology or History.

The parents disrespect his will and chose a major that he did not like without authorization, which is one of the reasons why Zell has a bad relationship with them.

But he couldn't say anything. Girammann is a matriarchal clan, and women have the final say in all matters of all tribes.

This is rare in the enlightened city of Pi, and if traced to the source, their ancestors might have come from Freljord.

"I have a Poluo, but I don't have the experience of breeding Poluo." Hemerdinger pushed his glasses: "In fact, although I have been raising this Poluo for several years, I don't know how its previous generation gave birth to it. The way it looked in my hands is not much different from now."

"Don't you even know..." Zell showed regret on his face, but his heart was filled with storm.

Hemodinger raised Poluo for several years but did not change much. Wouldn't it mean that Poluo's growth was extremely slow?

It will take longer to maintain his Poluo before he can see their next generation? If he wants to form a group, he will not be able to move forward for a hundred years?

It's been too long. I can't believe it.

"Professor, then how do you feed Poluo?"

"It's good to feed things on your daily basis. When I can't remember, I ask the students to help feed them. Later, I felt embarrassed to bother the students and received a complaint, so I built a regular feeding machine myself..."

Hemodinger blushed afterwards. He admitted that he was not very concerned about taking care of Poluo, and he just wanted to be alive.

"It turns out that the problem lies here." Zell sighed with his forehead. Even goldfish cannot be raised with such a method of raising them.

"Professor, I must correct you. This way, Poluo is soulless! Poluo is different from ordinary creatures. Their motivation for growth does not come from the nutrition in food, but love and companionship!"

"You mean... the lack of love and companionship will cause Poluo's development to stagnate... I should take care of it with all my heart before it will continue to grow? Oh my God, what did I do in such a confused way!"

Hemodinger suddenly realized that he finally understood why his Poluo could not be raised. It turned out that he had never understood what it needed!

Seeing this, Zell shook his head helplessly.

How important is a reliable master to Poluo!

In the future, you must carefully consider when choosing a new master for Poluo.

He walked out of the office silently.

Although I didn't ask anything, I accidentally saved a Poluo, and this trip was worth it.

"Child." Hemerdinger chased after him, "Thank you for your reminder, I have to go back to find my Poluo."

"It should." Zell made way to avoid blocking Hemerdinger.

"I'm sorry that I couldn't answer your doubts, but I know someone who might be able to help you."

"who?"
