Chapter 8 The ugly beast(2/2)

"You want to drink?"

A very cheerful young man, this was Hughes' first thought.

"If you are willing to give it to me, I am willing to pay you three times the market price."

In winter, it rains and the wind blows heavily... Under such circumstances, it is difficult for anyone to resist a cup of hot coffee.

To Hughes's surprise, the blond young man shook his head and refused.

"Sir, I like equal exchange, so this cup of coffee has a price, but the price is not limited to money. In exchange, I would like to ask you to tell me a story, a few simple sentences will do."

Hughes was stunned for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh:

"You are really an interesting person. May I take the liberty of asking, are you a novelist? Only those who like to write stories will have this inexplicable interest."

"Well, my current career is very close to that of a novelist." Xia Xiu replied with a smile.

He didn't lie. His current profession is detective, and detectives always appear in the works of novelists.

Detectives are always favored by novel writers, and the stories written by novelists also make people unknowingly have an inexplicable favorable impression of detectives. However, in fact, most detectives are not as magical as the stories say.

The superintendent system also puts detectives in an extremely embarrassing position.

At this time, Hughes had come and sat down in front of Xia Xiu. The icy cold wind had already made his nose red. He couldn't wait to pick up the coffee on the side and took a sip. The warm coffee flowed down his throat.

The warm warmth flowed into his stomach and he couldn't help but exhale.

"Phew - I feel much more comfortable. If you want to ask anything, just ask." Hughes turned to Xia Xiu and said with a smile.

The blond young man glanced at the ring on the ring finger of Hughes's left hand. He narrowed his eyes slightly and asked Hughes:

"You are married. If you can, tell me the story between you and your wife. Love is always a topic that people talk about."

Hearing the blond young man's question, Hughes couldn't help but raise his hand and look at the ring on his left ring finger. He answered with happiness in his eyes:

"I met Wendy two years ago. She is seven years younger than me. She was still a fresh graduate when I met her."

Next, Hughes began to chatter endlessly to Xia Xiu about the happy and interesting stories between himself and Wendy. Xia Xiu listened and nodded with a smile, as if he had been moved by the other person's beautiful love story.

"...That's it. I proposed to Wendy and she agreed to it."

After Hughes finished telling his love story, he turned his head and waited expectantly for the other party's reaction.

“Wonderful and wonderful.”

Xia Xiu clapped his hands with emotion on his face, and a bright smile appeared on his face.

Jiam, who was lying next to Xia Xiu, couldn't help but look at Hughes with pity after seeing his boss's familiar smile.

There is no way this guy can be saved. He should wait to die.

"Mr. Hughes, I'm actually trying to write a novel recently. Would you like to follow along and listen to it?"

The blond young man said to Hughes Robin in a sincere tone.

"Oh, then I'm really interested in listening to it." Houston became interested.

"My story is about a car accident."

"An accident once occurred at a roundabout at a three-way intersection. At the time of the incident, the car hit the wall at an almost vertical angle on the outside of the roundabout. After on-site inspection, the traffic police confirmed that the impact speed was above 80 kilometers per hour, and

There were no skid marks at the scene. By conducting a blood test on Zhou Jin, the police ruled out the possibility of drunk driving."

"The husband who was driving the car was seriously injured, and the wife who was in the car died. Originally, this was an ordinary traffic accident, but you know the strangest thing about it."

The blond young man rubbed his chin and looked at Hughes, who was a little unnatural. There was a hint of cat-and-mouse teasing in his golden eyes.

"What's weird? Isn't this..." Hughes asked absently.

"No, no, no, this is not an ordinary traffic accident."

The blond young man said with a mocking arc at the corner of his mouth:

"The deceased's family later discovered multiple insurance policies. If the wife died unexpectedly, the husband could receive a compensation of up to 500,000."

"In other words, behind the accident was a conspiracy to kill his wife and defraud her insurance company."

Hughes smiled stiffly and said:

"It's really a dramatic story. The audience will definitely like it. I think it's almost the same with the rain..."

Just when Hughes was about to change the subject, he saw the blond young man take out a photo and put it in front of him.

"No, Mr. Hughes, my story has just begun. The case I just mentioned provided a source of inspiration for the protagonist of the story, and the protagonist of the story I am about to tell is even more hypocritical and more hypocritical than the husband in the story just now.

It’s cunning and makes people feel...disgusting!”

The young man with blond hair and golden eyes stared at Hughes and chanted slowly:

"In the presence of wolves, dogs and leopards, monkeys, scorpions, vultures, and poisonous snakes;

In this evil and despicable zoo, crawling among the reptiles, roaring and snarling.

But there is a beast, uglier, more vicious, and more despicable!

It does not shout loudly and behaves in a low-key manner;

But it is deliberately trying to reduce the world to ruins."
