Chapter 1 1. Time travel
Chapter 1 1. Time Travel
The late autumn wind carries a deep coolness.
Yun Yao felt dizzy, her mouth was dry, her brows furrowed, she raised her right hand and rubbed her temple feebly, and groped her way out of bed.
Her squinted eyes gradually adjusted to the light, she opened them, and then froze.
What the hell is this place?
She looked around with her eyes wide open, knocking here and touching there. Although there were no windows open, this thatched house was exceptionally bright.
Because there is a big hole in the roof
Yu An heard the noise and knew that Yun Yao was awake, so he knocked on her door with the prepared medicine.
Yun Yao wanted to come in, but when he opened his mouth, he made a strange and inhuman voice: "Come in"
She quickly shut up, stepped forward and opened the door.
Standing at the door was a young man who looked like an immortal, with a face like a crown jade, skin like gelatin, and facial features as delicate as jade carvings.
The only drawback was that he was pathologically pale and thin.
At this moment, the young man was standing there holding a bowl of medicine, but Wangxiang Yunyao's eyes were dark and bottomless. The moment he looked at him, Yunyao seemed to have fallen into a cold pool.
This face seems a bit familiar.
Yun Yao tried to recall, but suddenly there was a stabbing pain in her brain. She held her head in her hands and squatted on the ground. Some memories that did not belong to her poured into her brain like a big explosion of information. It took her a while to recover.
She traveled through time.
She traveled to a dynasty with no historical records. This is Ganyu Village, a small village in the northeast of Shao Kingdom.
The original owner was also named Yunyao. Before yesterday, she lived in the Yun family in the east of the village.
Her parents died when she was five years old. Since then, she has been living with her uncle and aunt, along with her grandmother Zhang and her two cousins, one cousin and one cousin.
The original owner had a very bad life. The Yun family gave her all the menial and hard work, but gave her the minimum amount of food, and they often even went without food for several days.
When she was in a bad mood, her two cousins would secretly punch and kick her.
Only her cousin Yun Deshun stood up to protect her and secretly gave her food, so she didn't starve to death.
Some time ago, Yun Yao contracted a cold. To put it bluntly, it was a cold.
But the medicine in the town is very expensive for the villagers. Of course, the Yun family cannot buy medicine for Yunyao.
The Yun family was worried about being infected and wanted to throw the original owner out, but they were also afraid of being stabbed in the spine by their neighbors, so they threw her in a pen in the backyard, occasionally throwing in some spoiled food, and left her to fend for herself.
Yun Deshun stole the family's money and wanted to go to the town to buy medicine, but his uncle Yun Zhaohai caught him and locked him in the house and refused to let him out.
The original owner was also very tough, and he survived for half a month on one breath.
When the Yun family was at a loss, Yun Yao rescued a lame man who fell at the door.
The original owner threw the only half piece of black and hard steamed bun in his hand to the hungry boy who fell to the ground outside the courtyard.
The Yun family was overjoyed, and immediately forced the young man to marry her on the grounds of the need to protect men and women, and generously gave the dilapidated thatched hut to the two of them.
That night he suffered from a high fever and died.
A cold light flashed in Yun Yao's eyes. She slowly stood up, took the warm medicine in Yu An's hand, held her nose and drank it all.
Although the medicine was bitter, it was very effective. Yun Yao felt that his throat was cold and he felt much better.
Just as he was about to say thank you, there was a knock on the door. Yun Yao followed Yu An to open the door. Outside the door stood a panting Yun Deshun.
"Xiao Shun?" Yun Yao was confused.
Twelve-year-old Xiao Shun is thin, wearing patched clothes and holding a small bag of rice in his hand.
Seeing that Yun Yao was fine, he first breathed a sigh of relief, then stuffed a small bag of rice into Yun Yao's hand and said, "Sister, you eat it first, and I will give it to you in two days."
After saying that, he ran away in a hurry.
It was probably smuggled out.
Yunyao looked at the rice bag in his hand, and his stomach suddenly growled.
She covered her stomach, glanced at Yu An beside her, and said, "You must be hungry too, I'll cook."
As he spoke, he walked to the stove and quickly added water and firewood. He didn't look like someone who had just been seriously ill.
There were no decent tools at home, only a pitted iron basin and a rusty kitchen knife.
Yun Yao poured nearly half of the rice into the iron basin. The dust in the rice bag made Yun Yao cough. She was about to add water to wash the rice when a long, white hand suddenly pinched the basin from the side.
Yu An pulled the basin towards him and said, "I'll do it, you go and rest."
Yun Yao nodded slightly and walked aside, but she didn't go to rest. She found two branches of suitable thickness and folded them into four of almost equal lengths. She used a kitchen knife to cut out two pairs of chopsticks, washed them and put them on the side of the stove.
Yu An looked at the two pairs of chopsticks and was stunned for a moment, as if he didn't expect Yun Yao to have such skills.
Yun Yao patted Yu An on the shoulder: "I'll go to the river to wash my face."
Although the thatched house was drafty from all sides, Yun Yao still felt a chill the moment she walked out of the door. She came to the river. The water was still clear. She washed her face and looked at herself in the reflection.
As expected, in the reflection, her skin was sallow, her face was sallow and her muscles were thin, and her lips were unnaturally purple. She was obviously fifteen years old, but she was as skinny as if she were twelve or thirteen years old.
Yun Yao looked at the rough chicken feet again and sighed, this body had suffered too much.
There was only one open bowl in the house, which was the one that Yun Yao used to drink medicine. Yu An cleaned the bowl and filled Yun Yao with a full bowl of rice. Yun Yao took the rice and ate it slowly.
There was no table, so the boy filled some rice in a basin and sat down to eat with difficulty.
Yun Yao looked at the young man working hard and couldn't help but burst into laughter.
The young man suddenly felt embarrassed, stopped chewing in his mouth, and his ears turned unnaturally red.
"Where did you get the money to buy medicine?" Yun Yao forcibly changed the subject.
Yu An paused, put down the basin, and said, "I went to town to pawn a jade pendant, it's not important."
"Oh," Yun Yao nodded, "Thank you."
She secretly remembered this in her heart.
It had been a long time since they had eaten properly. In order not to hurt their stomachs, the two of them chewed their food slowly. It took half an hour to finish the meal.
"I've finished eating. I'm going out for a while. I'll leave the washing up to you." Yun Yao stood up and went out in a hurry without waiting for Yu An to say anything.
Before he had taken a few steps, he saw his daughter-in-law Zhao Xiaoqin, who lived across the street, walking towards her, holding a quilt in her hands and wearing a handkerchief on her face.
She was worried about catching the cold, but still wanted to help Yunyao.
"You're up! That's great." Zhao Xiaoqin said in surprise, "I found another quilt. If you don't mind it, take it and use it."
"Thank you." Yun Yao took the quilt and said, "Can you lend me a backpack?"
Zhao Xiaoqin was stunned for a moment. She felt that Yunyao had changed. In the past, she would never take the initiative to seek help from others. She would only lower her head pitifully, which made people both sympathetic and angry.
"I have a lot of backpacks at home, so I'll give you one." Zhao Xiaoqin happily went back to get the backpack.
Yun Yao carried the quilt to Yu An's room and spread it on his cold bed.
There is a bigger hole in his roof.
Yun Yao glanced at Yu An who was washing the basin. He put the crutch aside, pressed his shoulder against the wall to prevent his left leg from taking any force, and concentrated on rubbing the inside of the basin.
Yun Yao withdrew his gaze, walked out and took the backpack that Zhao Xiaoqin brought over, thanked him, and walked towards the path up the mountain.
