Chapter 67 Bronze Colossus(1/2)

The white shadow floating in the water suddenly jumped out of the water!

I was shocked! I couldn’t understand how they escaped from the fate of other white shadows. They were as flexible as apes and jumped to the edge of the bridge in one go!

Then each person reached out a hand and grabbed my calf!

"No! No!" I was dragged into the water by them. These white shadows were so powerful that I couldn't break free.

Seeing myself being dragged towards the bridge little by little, I was about to fall into the water.

Someone behind me pulled me: "Don't look."

I know that this is Shang Qingyun saving me.

He grabbed my arm and pulled me back hard. My eyes that had been unable to look away from the river seemed to be withdrawn.

The moment he was pulled back to the bridge, all illusions disappeared.

Instead, there is only the sound of gurgling water and the quiet stone bridge.

I sat on the ground panting, with lingering fears. When I was resting, I asked Shang Qingyun: "I just had another hallucination, right?"

Shang Qingyun shook his head: "It's not an illusion."

I was stunned when I heard this, but Shang Qingyun said nothing further. No matter who asked, Shang Qingyun would not explain the things he didn't want to explain. I have long been used to his stubborn character.

Shang Qingyun took one of my hands and said to me: "Don't look down, just close your eyes if you can't help it. Follow me."

"Okay." At this time, Shang Qingyun is more reliable than anything else. All I can do is trust him.

I was afraid that I couldn't bear to look down anymore, so I simply closed my eyes and followed Shang Qingyun.

He walked in front, pulling me. The scene was like a child dragging an adult to buy toys, even though I was the one being taken care of.

It wasn't until Shang Qingyun said, "It's okay." I dared to open my eyes.

At this time, we were standing in a wilderness. What was visible in front was a tall and majestic valley. The mouth of the valley looked very narrow, like a huge door with a gap, but this "gap" was enough for more than a dozen people to walk side by side.

Passed.

There are two bronze figures standing on both sides of the valley entrance. I can't estimate the height. They are like the left and right door leaves of the gate. I can only roughly guess that they are a hundred meters high.

I had never seen such huge figures and valleys on the bridge just now.

I wanted to look back to see what was going on behind me, but Shang Qingyun stopped me: "Don't look."

"What's wrong?"

"There is no turning back on Naihe Bridge."

"What, that's just an ordinary bridge..." Before I could finish my words, Shang Qingyun stared back.

He nodded his head and said to me: "Brother Yu, you have a long memory."

There is really nothing wrong with what I said...

I had no choice but to focus on the two huge bronze figures in front of me. After looking at them for a long time, I suddenly felt that I had seen these two figures before.

After thinking about it for a long time, I finally remembered that I had seen something similar when I visited the Sanxingdui Museum in college!

It is a large bronze statue unearthed from the Sanxingdui Ruins that is placed in the Sanxingdui Museum.

However, the size of the Dali statue here is not only dozens of times larger than that unearthed in Sanxingdui, but also slightly different in shape.

First of all, the face. The face of the standing human figure unearthed from Sanxingdui has big ears, round millet-shaped eyes, an aquiline nose, and a solemn expression.

The face of the standing figure here is close to the bronze longitudinal mask similar to Sanxingdui. The eyes are extremely protruding. The ears on both sides are like animal ears, slender and curved. The thin lips are smiling in a strange arc.

Only up to the earlobe.

There is a groove on its forehead, roughly between the eyebrows, with slender and sharp horns protruding from the groove. This is not reflected in the vertical-eye masks unearthed in Sanxingdui, Guanghan.

Coupled with the flat nose, it is difficult for people to imagine this face as human.

It's more like a monster with an animal head and human body.

In addition, its movements are also very different from the standing figure.

The movement of the bronze standing figure is with the right hand on top and the left hand on the bottom. The arms are bent and the hands are slightly held, just like the golden melon warriors in the ancient royal honor guard who were responsible for holding long melons. However, it is said that archaeologists did not find the golden melon in their hands when they were unearthed.

What are you wearing?

Therefore, the movements of the bronze standing figures have always been a mystery in the historians.

Not so with the two giant statues here.

They stand on both sides of the valley, facing each other. The giant statue on the left has its head slightly lowered, with one hand palm up in front of its belly, and the other hand covering its mouth, as if spitting something out of its mouth and catching it with its hand.

The colossus on the right is very complicated. Its left hand is on top, its right hand is on the bottom, its palms are facing outward, and its hands are in the shape of half-clenched fists, as if it is grasping something, but I can't understand what it is doing.

"Silkworm bush." Shang Qingyun muttered to himself.

"What?" I didn't hear clearly.

"Silkworm bush." He repeated in a louder voice.

This time I understood clearly, he was talking about silkworm bush.

Anyone who has studied Li Bai's text "The Road to Shu is Difficult" has heard the sentence "Cancong and Yufu, how confused the founding of the country is." Among them, Cancong and Yufu refer to the first and second generations of the founding of the ancient Shu Kingdom.

king.

It is said that Cancong lived for hundreds of years and led the ancient Shu people from the Minjiang River to Sichuan to build Qushang City, which was the earliest capital of Shu. Later Cancong was defeated by a tribe in the Western Zhou Dynasty and scattered throughout the country until Yufu appeared.

Only then did the people of Shu gather together again, making the ancient Shu kingdom prosperous.

According to the strange book "Huayang Guozhi", Emperor Cancong and his people were all born with vertical eyes, and after their death, they carved stone coffins with human-shaped vertical eyes to keep their appearance in life.

It seems that this is the tomb of Cancong, the first monarch of the ancient Shu Kingdom.

It’s just that I never expected that the tomb of an ancient emperor would be so grand.

"How do we get in?" I asked.

Although there is a clear path in front of me, I always feel that it is not that simple.

"walk into."

Shang Qingyun's answer surprised me.

"Ah? Just walk in like this?"

"Brother Yu, you are very suspicious." Shang Qingyun rarely had a smile on his face.

"It's you who gave me a long memory."

"It means don't touch it randomly."

"alright, you win."

Shang Qingyun and I walked to the two giant statues in the valley.

I already thought they were huge before, but when I got closer to the two giant statues, I felt so small.

Both of these two giant statues are barefoot, and we are not as tall as the giant statue's little toe. We even have to stack up seven or eight of them to reach the height of the giant statue's toenail.

I looked up at the giant statue, as if I were looking at a towering mountain peak.

From my angle, I can even vaguely see the chin of the vomiting left colossus.

Although the light here is not very good, my intuition tells me that there seems to be something coming out of the mouth of the colossus on the left and falling directly on the palm.

That thing is very thin, like noodles? Or should I say, silk thread?

"Brother Yu."

"Ah, here we come." I thought it was Shang Qingyun who was looking at me and looking around, urging me, but when I followed, I found that there were traces of camping a short distance into the valley, and there were some vague bone fragments on the ground.

In addition, I also found another cowhide briefcase in a very inconspicuous corner. This briefcase seemed to be quite old, at least twenty years ago.

In the bag I saw a notebook, a file in a paper bag, and a very old key press.

This model of machine has been discontinued a long time ago. Like the old BB machine, it is an old collection for people who like to collect old objects.

But at least it is certain that the owner of the tomb must have something. It seems that someone has been here before, but failed to enter the ancient tomb.

I can't help but admire those people for being able to break through so many obstacles and get here.

If I hadn't had Shang Qingyun to help me, I would have died several times.

However, since they had already crossed the Naihe Bridge, why were they all wiped out here?

It seems calm here, even if something unexpected happens, it's time to go deeper.

Shang Qingyun and I sat in the tent set up here to avoid the mountain wind. I took out the notes, files and mobile phones in my backpack to check the contents.

The first is the file. I have a hunch that the name I guessed will definitely appear in this file.

Sure enough, I saw the name "Li Minghe".

My grandfather, who is full of mysteries, really came here. So it is obviously not surprising that the archaeological team could reach here.

My grandfather's name appears this time in the column of honorary consultant, which means that my grandfather probably did not directly participate in the exploration of Shushan ancient tombs.

Otherwise, these people should not have died here even if their grandfather was here. Moreover, twenty years ago, when he was over 60 years old, it was unlikely that he would have participated in such a long journey.
