Chapter Fourteen, Don't Worry

"You said you lost your memory?"

"That's right."

"You have lost your memory and can you still go so far alone?"

"That's right."

"Those beasts and monsters... they didn't come to attack you?" Colin widened his eyes, looked at Pan Long with suspicion and annoyance, "Are you kidding me?"

Pan Long's answer was that he smashed a hole at least half a foot deep on the ground with his fist.

"Actually, I welcome the beasts to come and cause trouble for me," he said with a smile. "But they seem to be a little too smart, otherwise I'll have meat to eat."

Colin looked at the hole on the ground, frowned, and did not ask anything more.

He judged that this young man who even forgot his name and who lives in the house was an awakened person. It was just because something went wrong during the awakening and he lost part of his memory.

He has never seen this situation before, but I think it should be.

It is common to have some problems when awakening. Some people have one more eye, some have a few fingers, some have a serious illness, and some have been crazy for a while... In contrast, what is the loss of memory?

At least this kid has to be full of his trunks and doesn't look sick.

So he spent some time introducing the world to Pan Long.

This country is called Ameri, which used to be pretty good, but it's over. The reason why this country is over is "disaster".

Disaster is a general term, referring to various creatures that have become distorted and weird. For some reason, suddenly, many creatures in the Kingdom of Ameri mutated. Whether it is animals, plants or humans, they become weird, but they also have terrible power and even more terrible aggression.

Disasters always break out suddenly, and there were often no signs before, but suddenly, various mutations appeared. The weeds on the roadside became deadly, and big rats that could easily kill wolf dogs. Even those who were with each other day would turn into terrible monsters.

Faced with this unexpected situation, the human society, which relies on the group to possess strength, is vulnerable, and one prosperous town after another is destroyed in an instant.

Of course, the kingdom once organized troops to suppress the disaster, and the effect was pretty good at first. Faced with the gathering army, no matter what kind of disaster it was, it could not resist. However, when the disaster broke out in the capital, even His Majesty the King himself was bitten to death by the queen who suddenly turned into a monster, the management and dispatch of the entire kingdom completely collapsed.

Without the national dispatch, the army would not receive logistics supplies after the battle. In the end, the army that was able to suppress the disaster collapsed. All the people returned to their homes, and no one could organize a decent team anymore.

Fortunately, as the disaster spread, people were surprised to find that as long as there were priests who kept praying, a relatively safe area could be maintained. In this area, disasters would not break out.

For people, the most terrifying thing is actually not those monsters, but things like "people around them will suddenly become monsters". Once disasters do not break out in the crowd, people can rely on towns to rebuild strongholds and gradually resume production.

However, there are not many priests who can rely on prayer to resist disasters.

What's even more terrible is that until today, people don't understand how to cultivate such priests.

It seems... everything is a chance.

Under this situation, human society shrank greatly, and the once prosperous Kingdom of Ameri became an "arctic" composed of towns. Around the town, if it was separated from the scope that the priests could protect, it would become a disaster world.

It was a risky thing for the Colins to leave town in order to seek treasure.

"Then why do you dare to come out?" Pan Long asked.

"I want to make a fortune." Colin replied, "Disasters are terrible, but poverty is even more terrible. Disasters can kill me, and poverty can be."

He showed a calm smile that had been beaten by life countless times and saw through everything: "Killed by disasters, at least die more happily."

Looking at his expression, Pan Long sighed.

"Everyone is destined to meet. Are you interested in going to treasure hunt with us?" Colin sent him an invitation, "The city ahead is called Weilun City. It was a place where wealthy people gathered back then. There must be a lot of things worth taking away."

"I want to find the nearest town, maybe find my family, and the past."

"Then you can only work with us." Colin smiled. "It's not easy to find a path in this wilderness. If you walk alone, it's easy to get lost even if you have good skills. Let's work together. After finding the treasure, we can go back to the town and live comfortably for several years!"

To be honest, his words were not very tempting, but Pan Long was quite curious.

So about half an hour later, Pan Long also carried two big bags on his back and followed Colin and his two sons Weimar and Joseph into Weilun City.

The Colin family gave him a name called "Norman".

"I lived here when I was a kid," Colin said as he walked, his expression full of nostalgia. "Remember that time... forget it, remembering those things are boring. We came in from the west gate and were going to the south. The richest families in the city all lived in the south."

Three young men followed behind him, walking while alerting themselves to the surroundings.

"Don't worry too much, have you seen this dust? That's what the disaster left behind after death. It turns into dust, even if it's over. What you need to be careful about are those places without dust..."

Pan Long suddenly interrupted him: "Colin, are you talking about a few things over there?"

Everyone stopped and looked in the direction of his fingers. A few mummies crawled out of a room and slowly crawled towards them.

"Damn it! It's jumping!" Colin frowned, "Joseph, take the shield. Weimar and assemble the spear! Don't look slow now, when you attack, it's as fast as a gust of wind."

He said ravingly, "Fortunately, this thing is stupid and will only attack the target closest to it. So wait for Joseph to walk in front with his shield, let it pounce on the shield, and then Weimar will stab it with a spear. The key is its head, and it must be separated from its body, or simply broken the head to completely kill it..."

"Hey! Norman, what are you doing?"

Pan Long was already carrying a wood-cutting axe and walked straight towards the mummies.

"Don't worry," he said, "I've encountered this thing before, and I won all the bare hands, let alone now."

He walked very quickly, and as he spoke, he was not far from the mummies. Before Colin could say anything, a mummy jumped up and rushed towards Pan Long.

"Oh my God!" Weimar and Joseph's faces turned pale. Although they were taught by their father, they never expected that the moment the mummy attack would be so fast!

But the faster one was Pan Long.

Facing the mummy rushing over, he swung his axe.

With a crisp sound, it was like splitting firewood. The mummy's head was smashed by him, and his body fell to one side, and quickly weathered into dust.

Then, after a few consecutive sounds, these monsters that made Colin feel a little trouble turned into piles of dust on the street corner.

Pan Long turned around and smiled.
