Section 419 Composition and Reality(1/2)

Tan Tao felt that he had been wronged and cried out: "Brother, I am also a human being and I need to eat!"

"Besides, you are already married and have children, and I haven't even figured out your horoscope yet! You are a well-fed man but don't know how hungry a man is. I want to save money to find a wife, so I have to think about my future life!"

Hu Pingtao smiled: "Why do you feel that you and Yang Guangyi are born in the same mold, and are both so active when talking about seeking a wife?"

Weekends are a rare day off.

Hu Pingtao and Su Xiaolin drove to Hu Biyuan's house with their children - today is the birthday of their brother-in-law Su Zhicheng, and they had made an appointment before for the two families to get together.

As soon as he entered the door, Hu Pingtao saw his nephew Su Ruitao walking from the kitchen into the living room carrying a plate of washed fruits. He stepped forward with a smile and rubbed his hair with his palms as usual.

My nephew didn't hide, but his attitude was far less close than before, and he was even somewhat resistant.

"Don't hide! Do you still want the New Year's money?" Hu Pingtao joked.

Su Ruitao's face was full of resentment: "Uncle..."

Seeing his sad face, Hu Pingtao was a little surprised: "What's wrong with you?"

Hu Biyuan happened to come out from the kitchen. Seeing this, she explained with a smile: "Xiao Tao only scored more than 70 points in the Chinese language test last week."

Hu Pingtao frowned and asked his nephew: "I remember your grades are still good! How did you get such a score?"

The little nephew lowered his head and said: "The basic knowledge in the front is okay, but the main reason is that too many points are deducted for the essay. The teacher said... my essay is empty and has no content."

Hu Pingtao asked: "What is the title of the essay?"

Su Ruitao replied: "The topic is written by myself. I was given a paragraph to take on the role of going to the countryside to help the poor, and write my own thoughts and feelings about poverty alleviation based on actual conditions."

Hu Pingtao smiled and said: "This is not difficult! How did you write it?"

Su Ruitao replied: "My dad usually tells me to watch more news, and I do. I know about poverty alleviation, and the country invests a lot in it. I just follow what is said on the usual news programs, but when I wait

After the paper was approved, the teacher commented that the content was empty. There was no personal thought or opinion in the whole paper. It was more like a government work report than a composition."

"Is the paper here? Show it to me." Hu Pingtao said.

The nephew quickly brought the test paper from the bedroom. Hu Pingtao looked at the composition carefully. It was indeed as the teacher said, empty and full of official language.

He returned the paper to Su Ruitao, pulled a chair from the side and sat down, and asked: "Do you know what poverty alleviation is about?"

The nephew nodded: "I know."

"Then what do you think about this matter?" Hu Pingtao asked: "Think about it, if it were you who went to the countryside to help the poor, what would you do?"

The little nephew didn't even want to open his mouth to answer: "Just give me money."

Hu Pingtao pondered for a moment: "Let's do this! You go out with me for a while."

Hu Biyuan was listening to their conversation and said quickly: "It's almost noon, the dishes are ready, let's go after dinner!"

Hu Pingtao stood up from the chair: "Sister, I will take Xiaotao out for a while and I will be back soon. If it is late, it may be too late."

Hu Biyuan still knew her brother well, so she asked tentatively: "Is it related to that essay?"

Hu Pingtao nodded and said "Yeah".

Hu Biyuan nodded: "Then you go! Go and come back quickly."

He took his nephew away from home and came to the road outside the community. Looking at Hu Pingtao walking next to him, Su Ruitao asked without knowing what was going on: "Uncle, where are you taking me?"

Hu Pingtao pointed to the intersection not far ahead: "It's right there, just turn the corner and you'll be there."

We soon arrived at the place - in the leeward corner of the street, there was an unkempt beggar sitting. The man was in his forties. There was a broken enamel jar on the ground in front of him, with several coins of different denominations in it.

On the way here before, Hu Pingtao saw this man begging on the street. This is the awareness he has developed as a policeman for many years. No matter where he goes, he must observe the surrounding environment and form a temporary memory in his mind.

From a distance of seven or eight meters, Hu Pingtao raised his finger to the beggar and asked his nephew: "Do you think that person needs poverty relief?"

Su Ruitao looked over there and nodded doubtfully: "Absolutely! Otherwise, he wouldn't be sitting here begging for food."

Hu Pingtao laughed softly and said: "You are right, the word "begging" is a good word. According to you, he needs help from others because he is hungry?"

Su Ruitao continued to nod.

Hu Pingtao took out a ten-yuan note from his pocket and handed it to his nephew: "Did you see the pastry shop across the street?"

Su Ruitao looked in the direction he pointed: "I saw it."

Hu Pingtao handed the money to his nephew: "Go and buy a drawer of xiaolongbao, and then come back and give it to the beggar. Note that the steamed buns should cost six yuan per drawer. Pack the remaining money yourself, don't give it to him."

Su Ruitao asked: "Uncle, what do you mean, you only give him steamed buns but not money?"

Hu Pingtao nodded: "Go!"

Su Ruitao trotted across the road, bought buns as Hu Pingtao said, turned back to the road, and walked straight towards the beggar.

The distance between them meant that Hu Pingtao couldn't hear clearly the content of the conversation between the two. He saw that the beggar was very unhappy and did not take the bun handed over by his nephew. He picked up the broken enamel jar on the ground and turned away.

Su Ruitao looked very embarrassed. He returned to Hu Pingtao and said embarrassedly: "Uncle, that man...he doesn't want my buns."

Hu Pingtao smiled and said: "Forget it if you don't want to. Let's go back first."

When I got home, the dining table was already filled with dishes.

Su Ruitao washed his hands as usual, and as soon as he sat on the chair, Hu Pingtao pressed his shoulder and pulled it away: "Don't eat this lunch."

Su Ruitao frowned, not understanding why at all: "Uncle, what are you going to do?"

Hu Pingtao smiled and asked without explanation, "Are you hungry now?"

The little nephew tilted his head and thought for a moment: "I'm not very hungry...but my mother said that you must eat on time every day."

Hu Pingtao turned his head and shouted to Hu Biyuan who was busy in the kitchen: "Sister, I won't give Xiaotao this lunch, okay?"

Hu Biyuan poked her head out of the kitchen door and asked puzzledly: "What do you want to do?"

Hu Pingtao did not explain in detail: "Some things have to be experienced by himself before he can have ideas."

Hu Biyuan thought quickly: "That essay you are referring to?"

Hu Pingtao nodded.

"That's fine! It's up to you." Hu Biyuan laughed loudly and said, "Boys, it's okay to be hungry."

While everyone was eating, Hu Pingtao accompanied his nephew and read in the room.

After the meal, Su Xiaolin came to Hu Pingtao, reached out and pinched the soft flesh on his waist, leaned close to her ear, and lowered her voice: "What are you doing? Are you deliberately abusing children?"

Hu Pingtao smiled and replied in the same low voice: "There are some things that he must have personal experience with. Just leave it alone and feed my son and daughter quickly. This is business."

Su Xiaolin spat at him and turned around to leave.

At around two o'clock in the afternoon, the little nephew pitifully said to Hu Pingtao: "Uncle, I...I'm hungry."

Hu Pingtao closed the book in his hand and said with a smile: "Are you really hungry?"

Su Ruitao pursed his lips: "I ate a bowl of rice noodles when I got up in the morning. You are deliberately trying to starve me to death!"

Hu Pingtao nodded: "Okay! The steamed buns are still there, just eat that one!"

Su Ruitao said "Oh", walked into the kitchen, picked up the cold buns placed on the stove, unwrapped the plastic bag and put it on the plate, and was about to open the microwave when he was stopped by Hu Pingtao who was following behind.

"No need to heat it up, just eat it cold."

Su Ruitao was stunned: "Uncle, it is not good to eat cold food, you will get sick."

Hu Pingtao said calmly: "It's not that exaggerated. Once or twice once in a while, it's fine. Besides, you are in such good health that you won't have vomiting or diarrhea after eating a few cold buns. Listen to me: if you are really hungry, just eat

I can eat this.”

Su Ruitao has always been afraid of his uncle who was a policeman.

He didn't argue any further, picked up the cold bun, stuffed it into his mouth, and chewed it.

Looking at his nephew with bulging cheeks, Hu Pingtao stood up and walked to the water dispenser, took a glass of water, turned back and handed it over, asking: "Is it delicious?"

Su Ruitao took the cup, drank the water in the cup, wiped the corners of his mouth with the back of his hand, shook his head, and complained: "The buns are cold, the meat filling inside is hard and greasy... it doesn't taste good...

…Uncle, why don’t you let me heat it up before eating it?”

Hu Pingtao did not answer, but continued: "The rest of the lunch is in the refrigerator. In fact, even if there are no steamed buns to eat, you can still eat some cold leftovers. But I just want you to eat these steamed buns."

The little nephew asked inexplicably: "Why?"

"Because you originally sold this to that beggar." Hu Pingtao said lightly: "But he didn't want it. Now, you should understand the reason for this, right?"

Su Ruitao suddenly realized: "Because he's not hungry?"

Hu Pingtao explained with a smile: "We usually call beggars "beggars" because they have no source of income and cannot feed themselves. According to common sense, not having enough to eat is the biggest characteristic of beggars. But you also

I saw it, and you bought him some hot buns, but he ignored you and turned around and left."

"Why?" Hu Pingtao asked.

He asked and answered himself, and one sentence woke up the ignorant little nephew: "Because that beggar is not short of food at all, what he wants is money."
