Chapter 352 Our Friendship

In the castle of Turbulent City, Amador sat in the hall and looked silently at the Marquis of Selin in front of him.

Marquis Selin said nothing, and looked like a prisoner waiting for trial.

"Mr. Marquis, we really don't have to do this. Since I can come, it proves that the Archbishop still trusts you."

Selin looked up at Amado: "Mr. Deacon, I am truly grateful to you. I swear to the Lord that every word I say is true. Monchik has indeed come to Turbulence once, but other than that, I have never had any contact with him. I have given him fifty thousand pounds of food, and I have never given him anything else!"

"You gave him five hundred thousand pounds of food a few days ago."

"That was for General Pigu, I don't know why it fell into Monchik's hands!"

“There are still half a million pounds before that.”

"That was for Wilkins. I really don't understand why it fell into Monchik's hands!"

Marquis Selin's voice grew louder and Armado pressed his palm down: "I really believe in you, but I have to give the Archbishop a reasonable explanation."

"Is my explanation not reasonable enough? What should I do? Monchik is like a demon. As soon as he leaves Turbulent City, everything is shrouded in his shadow!"

After experiencing that terrible war, Marquis Sailing sent several letters to Bucken with a carrier pigeon, but these letters were tampered with by Manda.

The letters still maintained the usual attitude of Sailin, not offending both sides, and making money with harmony. Coupled with the series of rumors created by Manda, Barkern thought that Turbulence City had been secretly providing support to Monchik.

In a rage, Barkern asked Amado to take a trip to the Turbulent City in person to see Marquis Selin's true attitude.

Amado doesn't want to come. If Marquis Selin has become an ally of Monchik, Amado may not go back to this trip.

But Barkhon's orders cannot be violated. Before arriving in Turbulent City, Amado was always ready to escape, but when he actually arrived in Turbulent City, he found that the situation was different from what he imagined.

Marquis Selin has always maintained awe of Barkern, and seems to have been living in fear. Selin expressed his unaware of previous letters, and it seems that someone has tampered with the content of the letters.

Of course, all this is probably pretended by Marquis Selin. Action is the best way to identify lies. Amador made a request to Marquis Selin send 500,000 pounds of food to Rahn. If he agrees, it proves that there was indeed a misunderstanding before. If he disagrees, it proves that the Archbishop's speculation is correct.

Of course, he also has his own selfishness. If he could raise some military rations for Lahn, it would be better.

Unexpectedly, Selin really refused, and the reason was ridiculous:

"I have food, you can take as much as you want, but I have no carriages and horses. Please give it to General Pigu yourself."

Amado said angrily: "I only brought a dozen people here. How do you let me transport 500,000 pounds of food?"

"What I'm talking about is facts. The Turbulent City can't even find a carriage for transporting grain."

"Mr. Marquis, I want to help you."

"Sir, I'm not lying!"

What Sailin said is indeed the truth. During this period, he sent nearly two million pounds of food and dispatched more than a thousand horse and ox carriages, but all of these cars were gone without returning. No matter how rich the Turbulent City could not withstand such squandering.

But Amado couldn't understand, he thought Selin's excuse was too stupid.

The day ended in a bad mood. Late at night, Amado habitually opened the Styx Island, but saw a letter inside that he would never forget.

This is a letter written by the real Rahn Pigu, which tells everything that has happened over the past few months.

...

The next day, Amado, who had not closed his eyes all night, carefully tidied up his appearance and applied some makeup to cover up the haggardness on his face.

He met Marquis Selin again, unlike in the past, without questioning or doubting, only the old feelings between friends.

The two chatted all morning, and when lunch was almost over, Amado sighed softly: "You are still you, your kindness and sincerity have never changed. I believe you will not have any contact with the traitor and heretic Monchik."

Sailing's eyes were wet: "You really believe me?"

Amado's eyes were also a little red: "I never doubted you."

The two looked at each other for a long time, hugged each other, and tears rushed out of their eyes almost at the same time.

They hugged each other for a long time before they reluctantly separated.

"What are we doing, why are we crying?" Amado smiled. "The New Year is coming soon, and I think the Archbishop should be looking forward to your gift."

"I'm ready," Sailin brought in an exquisite robe with twenty-one gems.

"This is for the Archbishop."

Another servant brought another robe with twelve gems inlaid with them.

"This is for you, my friend."

Needless to say anything polite, Amado hugged Sailing again and whispered in his ear: "I'm leaving, the war has not subsided, take good care of myself."

"Stay more days."

"I have to rush back before the New Year, you know, the king capital has a lot to do."

Selin prepared a sumptuous lunch to farewell to Amado, and he and his guards kept sending Amado to the edge of the territory.

The two parted ways. On the way back, Selin called the Cavalier Andres.

"Take a shortcut, get to the mountain stream in advance, stop Amado, and bring his head back."

Andres was stunned: "You want to kill him? He isn't already..."

"Do you think I will believe his nonsense? Yesterday was tense, today he was kind and happy. He had prepared the most vicious slander. He would fabricate countless charges for me in front of Barkern. If he was asked to return to the capital, we would definitely die."

"Since you know what he thinks, why not do it in the city?"

"Are you crazy? How could I let him die in Turbulent City? Stop asking such stupid questions, go and go back!"

Andres took more than a dozen assassins and set off immediately.

The mountain stream entrance is the only way to the royal capital. It takes two days to get there, but Andres knows a shortcut that only takes one and a half days to get there.

But he was stunned and Amado did not go to the mountain stream entrance. Not long after he left the Turbulent City, he changed direction.

The guard beside him asked, "Sir, where are we going?"

"Go to Qixing Mountain."

“What are you going there to do?”

"Go to find General Pigu."

"But the Archbishop asked us..."

"This is the Archbishop's confidential task, don't ask too much!"

Andres returned empty-handed, and Marquis Selin was as if he was trapped in the abyss.

"It's over, it's all over," Selin sat in despair on the chair, looking up at Andres, "I will collect young and strong men from all over the city and let everyone pick up weapons. Even if they die, they will die on the top of the city. I will never become a prisoner of Barkern."

Andres took a deep breath and said, "Maybe I shouldn't say such things, sir, we have other ways."
