However, cost has always been the biggest roadblock that prevents the popularization of a technological product and is also the easiest roadblock to be dealt with.

So a few years later, Intel got a new architecture, MLC-Multi   Level    Cell.

Compared to SLC, each cell unit can store 2 bits of information.

Correspondingly, its manufacturing process is more complex, and its reliability is also reduced in read and write speed, and its service life is even reduced exponentially.

But even so, its price is still a bit expensive and has not brought true popularity to flash memory.

What really makes flash memory popular is actually TLC - Trinary   Level    Cell, which translates into a triple unit.

Each cell unit can store 3 bit information, requiring more complex process and voltage control.

The disadvantages are as always.

However, it is the absolute hero who has allowed flash memory to enter thousands of households.

So much so that QLC was born later - each cell unit can store 4 bit information, with a larger capacity, slower, shorter life, and a lower cost.

Moreover, Su Yuanshan, who came from later generations, knew that in the development of flash memory products, the flash memory architecture was only one of the factors that restricted the reading and writing speed of products, and was not even the biggest factor.

The biggest factor is actually the interface protocol standard for data transmission, followed by the main control chip and related technologies, and finally the architecture is obtained.

Just like the upcoming USB1.0 protocol, although under the initiative of Yuanxin and Xinghai, a relatively radical solution has been adopted, the transmission rate of only 48Mbps at full speed is only four times that of 12Mbps in history.
