This second-hand line, which originated from the Rollo Bristol production base, produces up to 120 gas turbines per year, including a series of professional equipment necessary for the production of a series of gas engines such as precision forging, precision casting, heat treatment, testing, and test benches. If you choose a brand new equipment, spending 100 million US dollars or 200 million US dollars is cheap.

The agreement reached by FAW and Rolls-Royce is similar to Romania's introduction of the BAC1-11 passenger aircraft production line. The only difference is that one raises funds and the other uses state sovereignty to borrow.

At this time, the teaching equipment of the Republic's universities' related majors for gas engines was lagging behind, which made fresh graduates of the gas engine major unable to keep up with the current R&D progress of FAW. After R&D personnel joined FAW, they had to go through at least one year of knowledge structure updates to keep up with the current technical level of the Science and Technology Park.

Needless to mention the 1980s, even if you enter the New Century Republic, there are very few related colleges and universities that have opened gas turbine majors. At present, except for key universities or aviation majors in major cities such as Shengjing, Peking, Xi'an, Nanjing, Harbin, and Wusong, which have opened gas turbine-related majors. The root cause of this Lanhua accident can be said to be based on the lack of R&D personnel and experience.

After more than three months of detailed investigation, the culprit of the shaft breaking accident of the ED12 generator set has been found. The oil line pipe joint responsible for providing lubricant for the main shaft of the gas engine showed a slight leakage. The relevant maintenance personnel did not find this fault during the offline inspection of the gas engine. After the equipment was run through the repeated line, the leakage point expanded, and a vicious accident occurred in which the oil line suddenly broke.

Since the ED12 gas engine unit is mainly used for power generation equipment, in order to reduce costs, FAW has made major changes to the original unit's backup and oil supply system in design. After all, civilian equipment does not need to retain too much safety margin than military industry.

When the modified ED12 gas engine unit has a major failure in the spindle oil system, the backup emergency safety system can still maintain the entire unit for 10 minutes, leaving a lot of time for the unit to stop emergency operations.

The crew on duty in Lanhua that day had a stomachache. They frequently left their posts and failed to detect the dangers of the unit and manually shut down the machine as soon as possible. Even in such a normal situation, such a major danger has met the requirement of automatic shutdown of the unit.

After more than a year of hard work, Su Liangyu has developed a digital monitoring system for the ED12 gas engine unit to monitor the pressure, temperature and other parameters of various main pipelines during the operation of the gas engine, making the unit capable of automatic shutdown in serious cases.

However, since the chip laboratory is working on this kind of thing for the first time, the referenced object is the same design on the Gem Stone Turboshaft engine. When this electronic monitoring system was first developed, the false alarm rate was extremely high, and the equipment could not function normally. In order to solve this problem, the chip laboratory designed several verification programs from the software and hardware to solve the false alarm problem.

After spending more than a year and spending more than 5 million yuan in funds, this electronic monitoring system is finally usable. The only disadvantage is that it is limited to the processor's data processing capability. It is necessary to complete several verification steps more than ten seconds after the unit's danger occurs before the automatic shutdown step can be started.

This delay in time is not a fatal flaw for the power generator set on the ground running, but if it is bad, it will be bad. After the oil pipeline breaks, the unit will catch fire immediately.

Although the chip laboratory knows that the quality of its own chips cannot adapt to the high-heat environment during unit operation and builds the data processing system and unit far away, discrete devices that monitor the real-time operation of the unit cannot survive.

Less than ten seconds after the unit caught fire, the discrete devices responsible for monitoring the unit's operation were reimbursed. At this time, the data processing system responsible for emergency shutdown was busy computing and verification. Because the monitoring system suddenly disappeared, the verification program fell into a dead cycle. As a result, the insurance was as if it was useless and did not play any positive role in the accident.

As for the culprit of the oil circuit micro leakage and becoming a fracture accident, it is the reason for the design of the fuel engine. Due to insufficient experience, FAW closely adjacent the water-cooled pipeline responsible for cooling the fuel engine and the lubricant pipeline responsible for the supply of lubricant. Since the main function of the Lanhua unit is to deal with the combustible gases generated by petroleum cracking and cracking, and then balance the Lanhua industrial power grid, this makes the output of the unit not as constant as that of professional power generation equipment.

As the unit output changes, the refrigerant flow rate provided by the water-cooled pipeline responsible for cooling the fuel engine also changes accordingly, which leads to the expansion problem caused by large temperature differences when designing the water-cooled pipeline. The department responsible for designing the fuel engine cooling system has noticed this, but the department responsible for designing the lubricant system can not think of this.

As a result, when the unit actually works, the working environment of the lubricant system is affected by the water cooling system, completely exceeding the previous projections. In the end, this seemingly inconspicuous minor error caused the oil pipeline to leak due to shrinkage and caused a major disaster.

Although the entire accident process is full of a series of coincidences and mistakes, this coincidence is definitely inevitable in the large-scale industrial production. From a mathematical perspective, with the passage of time or the accumulation of times, the 1% chance and 99% chance are no different from the result, and they are destined to happen.

The so-called safety and reliability are all burned with real money and silver. If it weren't for this accident, Li Yuanling would not have noticed that in applications where the power of the gas engine is frequently changed, the water-cooled pipeline and the lubricant pipeline cannot be designed together.

Thinking of the fact that gas engine companies such as Rolls, General Motors, Pratt & Whitney, Alstom have created dozens of models for various operating environments on a set of core machines, it is nothing more than this kind of loss. After being experienced, they use bad things to refine the market classification of gas engines.

For example, after having the experience of this explosion, FAW can produce two new models, one that keeps the original design defects unchanged and only targets the normal power generation market with stable output of the gas engine. If the equipment user arbitrarily changes the application environment of the gas engine and causes an accident, FAW can not only be exempted from liability but also make money for repairs.

Another way is to summarize the lessons learned this time, changing the relevant designs has widened the application environment of the gas engine and become a so-called high-end product...
