Chapter 31 Rejection

When Officer Parton and Santos had just arrived at Luke Prescott's villa, Joseph came with his lawyer. He was Mr. Clark Dodon of the local law firm. A very smart man in forty years old, with eyes, suit and ties, and a handbag, came in and gave Sheriff Louise a headache.

"Hello, Mr. Dowton!" Sheriff Louise went over to shake hands with him.

"I just want to see my client. Is it OK now?" Clark Dodon said politely to Sheriff Louise, "I want to know if he has been treated unfairly!"

"Well, he's there, hey...you, go open the door and take them to the interrogation room." Sheriff Louise pointed to a police officer next to him and said, "Make sure our suspects are treated fairly!" This sentence was a fight against Dodon.

"Of course..." the policeman nodded and waved his head to Mr. Dodon, "Sir, please come with me."

The matter is actually not complicated. Sheriff Louise's final reply to Mr. Dorton was to be detained for twenty-four hours, transferred to the detention center, and submitted to the court for trial.

This is fair. At least now, Sheriff Louise has the power. However, because Mr. Dodon came in person, she opened the door and did not transfer it to the detention center, but directly locked Jia Huan in the interrogation room. This is much better than the detention center.

During the whole process, Jia Huan didn't say a word, and Joseph didn't know what to use to comfort him, so he just patted his shoulder and pinched his hand.

"Have you talked to Mr. Luke Prescott?" Jia Huan asked before leaving.

"I said it, but I can't guarantee it..." Joseph shrugged and spread his hands. "Now he feels like a winner, so he won't listen to the advice of the loser, that's it!"

Jia Huan shook his head and sat down again without any worries. Because of Mr. Dodon's efforts, Jia Huan no longer has to wear handcuffs. He can move freely in the interrogation room, but he must not leave the police station.

Tomorrow, Jia Huan will be transferred to the detention center and sent to court. The judge will decide whether to continue to detain Jia Huan in the detention center. This is what Chief Louise wants to do. She did not mean to make things difficult for him. After all, the only clue now comes from Jia Huan's judgment. He accurately judged the burial place of the female corpse. So no matter what, he is a breakthrough.

There is no reason to let him go home easily. But it seems that the guy doesn't care. Maybe he can really get rid of this murder accusation. After all, there is no direct evidence to prove that he killed someone. There is no witness, no physical evidence, and no motive for killing people.

It gradually darkened. Sheriff Louise was sitting in the office. She planned to work on the evening shift tonight. Today was also her work on the evening shift. After calling out the takeaway, she looked at Jia Huan in the interrogation room. She turned to the young man who delivered the takeaway and said, "Give him one too, just pizza."

The young man who delivered the food left. Another person came to the police station, a forensic doctor. He handed a report to Sheriff Louise and said, "I also sent a copy of the past to the two bastards. This woman died three years ago, which was probably the same as my previous speculation, and... she was about twenty-three years old."

"I will read the report. Thank you, you did a great job!" Sheriff Louise nodded at the forensic doctor, "Okay, you can go ahead."

The forensic doctor nodded and turned around and left. Anyway, there was a report in it, so there was no nonsense. When the forensic doctor left, Sheriff Louise picked up the report and looked at it, then frowned.

The identity of the female corpse has not been found, and no matching record has been found. So we have to check the missing population three years ago. Of course, there is the simplest way, which is to directly arrest the former owner of the villa and you may know it. Perhaps checking for the person who had dated him at that time may have clues.

Anyway, there are many possibilities, but there is no way to know yet. I hope the two FBI idiots have already begun to investigate the former owner of the villa. They are really two bastards, Sheriff Louise couldn't help but curse again. Then he picked up his cell phone and called.

"Uh... Officer Parton, are you at Mr. Luke Prescott's house now?"

"No, I'm still on the road, there's a traffic accident, I'm dealing with it. Maybe we'll get there soon..." Police Officer Parton's somewhat lazy voice came from there.

"Listen, Officer Parton, I asked you to go to Mr. Luke Prescott's house, not to deal with the accident. Is there no one else in the police station?" Sheriff Louise was furious when he heard this. "Stop your work and let other police officers come to reinforce. You go to Mr. Luke Prescott's house immediately and ask who the former owner of the house is."

"Okay, I understand, obey the order - sir!" Officer Parton said a little longer. Obviously, this was expressing his dissatisfaction, but when he wanted to say something, he heard a "beep" sound coming from his ears, which made him even more annoyed.

"I think so, let's go quickly and complete this damn task!" Santos also hummed, and then called for reinforcements on the intercom.

Soon, a police car drove over, and then Officer Parton handed over the matter and drove himself to Luke Prescott's house with Santos. He had complained a lot along the way.

The car finally drove into Luke Prescott's house. At this time, Luke Prescott walked out of the living room. He complained to Officer Parton as he walked: "Look, what is my house like now? Go and see the mud, right in the backyard..."

"I know, Mr. Prescott, we have to do this. We have to protect the scene. If you want to clean up earlier, you should write a report to us and submit your application, not complain here." Officer Parton said slowly, then frowned and looked at Luke Prescott.

"Are you wearing your pajamas? Are you planning to live here? Tonight."

Luke Prescott opened his hands and smiled sarcastically at Officer Parton, "Is there anything wrong with this? I live in my room, and there is no seal here, and... I don't even have a female corpse now, and someone will scare me? Haha, Officer Parton, if I were you, I should try to find out which bastard buried a woman under the pool."

"Of course, this is the police's business, it's not your turn to speak!" Officer Parton glared at him with dissatisfaction, and then said, "I'm just here to tell you something. You can't live here tonight. You should find a hotel and then find a chick... and be shocked by what you are doing today."

"Damn, I'm not that kind of person. Do you know how much those coupons are calling for? Three hundred dollars! Even women in Las Vegas don't have this price-" Luke Prescott snorted, and found that he was missing, so he quickly added, "Don't even think about using this trick to scare me. Have you listened to that charlatan? When did the police rely on the psychic to do things? Isn't this funny?"

"Shut up, Mr. Prescott, I can force you to leave!" Officer Parton put one hand on the holster at his waist and shouted at Luke Prescott with dissatisfaction.

"Don't think of getting too harsh to me. I am a doctor, a respected profession, and a local celebrity. I am a well-known person. Do you want to arrest me like this? No, no, unless you take out the court's arrest warrant or search warrant!" Prescott hummed, sneered again, and turned around and entered the house.

Officer Parton and Santos followed in, but unexpectedly saw Luke Prescott taking a double-barrel shotgun from a wall next to the hall and pointing it at Officer Parton.

"I said, Officer Parton, if you want to arrest me, then...then the arrest warrant. If you just want to ask about the situation, you'd better be a little better with me. I'm not afraid of you!"

Officer Parton was still on the holster with one hand, but he was still scared by Luke Prescott, and Santos whispered: "Hey, Mr. Deputy Sheriff, we really have no right reason to take him away. And we don't have any arrest warrants, search warrants, and things issued by the court are not issued by us..."

Officer Parton retracted his hand in disappointment, then pointed at Luke Prescott, turned around and prepared to walk back. While walking, he cursed a few words: "Bitch, that damn cousin, I want to go against me. Fuck--"
