Chapter 1 Surveillance Video

Venice is a city that has been destined to be extraordinary since its birth. It is a major Renaissance town, a center of industry and trade, and the most prosperous port in the Mediterranean. In European history 20th century ago, it experienced several prosperity and decline, and what was left behind was a beautiful and poetic water city.

But these are all past.

Nearly a hundred years ago, the rule of the empire changed the pattern here.

In that turbulent era of rebels, slandering, assassination, and occupation occurred in every corner; not long after, religion became the next target that must be cleaned up, and the actual power of all religions in the world was almost completely abolished; and finally, business was also intervened. Since then, behind every big deal on the planet, the nobles and royal families were able to get a share of the core interests.

Venice is just one of the countless affected historical cities.

Today, the seven churches here require tickets to enter. Some are basically equivalent to museums being open to the public, while others are simply used for tourism. The "priests" and "nuns" in the church are just acting as clergy, and they may go directly to nightclubs after get off work. Hundreds of palaces and mansions along the Grand Canal are also bounded by imperial paintings. The essence of these ancient European architectural arts is now mostly the offices of the imperial government, and a very small number are still used as private residences, but those who live in it are basically those who work in the palace next door during the day and go back to their own mansions to sleep at night.

As time goes by, decaying mud will inevitably accumulate under the glitzy water surface.

Venice in 2101 was affiliated with Guanzhi County, one of the five counties in Western Europe of the Empire. There was no need to find much of the romantic water city here, and the glory of the past was difficult to reappear. The population consists mainly of five categories: port workers, seamen, service industry workers, tourists and self-employed people. Bars and nightclubs are everywhere. These business places that are incompatible with the artistic atmosphere of Europe are the only way for the civilians who live here to comfort them.

January, the off-season of tourism, is the coldest and rainiest season of the year in Venice.

A yellow warning line was pulled in front of the door of the Copper Parrot Bar, and several police officers blocked the onlookers outside.

In the night, a man came silently.

With a turtleneck windbreaker and an old-fashioned baseball cap, he is like playing the old-school detective in the black and white movie era.

After showing the police ID, he walked into the bar, blocking the warning line in front of him, distorted and raised himself without touching it, allowing him to pass through smoothly. This scene was only two seconds short, and no one noticed that his hands were stuck in his windbreaker pocket and never moved.

His name is Elote Nice, thirty-three years old, "strong" level, a legendary figure of the Venetian Police Department, and the villains in the city call him "paper man".

Paper Man likes this title very much. His point is that no matter how loud the name he was at birth, it was given by his parents, but the name of Paper Man was earned by himself. Just like the reason why Superman is called Superman is not because he has superpowers, but because he has used his superpowers to help and save many people. If he does nothing, he is just Clark.

"Hey, you're finally here, oh Lott." The big belly sheriff Deacon waved to the paper man; "You have to come and see this, haha, a rookie just now vomited all over the floor after seeing it."

Paper man walked to Deakin, took the PVP670 in his hand, and directly clicked on the play, "Is this a surveillance video?"

"Yes, look, the suspect is the big man on the left side of the picture, the one sitting at the bar drinking... Look there, three little gangsters are harassed the waitress. She knocked over the wine in the tray and spilled it onto the big man's clothes." Deakin pointed at the player screen in the hand of the Paper Man and explained: "Next... man, you have to take a good look at this..."

The suspect in the picture is over 1.90 meters tall, looks like a water athlete, has a buzz cut, and wears sunglasses in a dimly lit bar.

When the waitress accidentally knocked the drink on him, he slowly turned his head, took off his sunglasses, and said something to the group of gangsters. Generally speaking, this sentence is probably "stay away from her", and then a hero will play a good show of saving the beauty. However, the next scene in the video is that he grabbed the waitress's head with one hand, lifted her up, and threw it out.

Paper hero raised his head and glanced at the position that could not be taken in the video. Following the direction where the waitress was thrown out, he saw a messy wine cabinet against the wall.

"How is the waitress now?" asked the paper hero, his eyes returning to the video.

Deakin replied: "I'm still alive, with multiple cuts on my body, soft tissue contusions, and severe neck damage, but I'm not in danger of life. I'll be discharged from the hospital in half a month. Compared with those gangsters, she's lucky enough." He said and pointed to the screen of PVP670: "Look, this is the first deceased."

The big man in the picture punched the gangster who was closest to him. His fist entered from his left chest and stretched out his back, clean and neat, as smooth as a sharp knife penetrated a piece of fat.

"I think that scene helped every drunk in the room wake up at that time. After about 20 seconds, we lost all the witnesses. Their movements were faster than escaping from the fire scene." Deakin took out a chocolate from his shirt pocket and ate it on his own.

Paper hero had a deep brow. The punch in front of him was so terrifying. If the five fingers were put together to make a palm force and the strike was exploring with the fingertips, it was understandable. However, if the ordinary fist was used to penetrate the body, it could even penetrate the body. The internal organs that did not break out of the back of the deceased showed that the penetration force and speed were amazing.

In the video, the other two gangsters stood there for two seconds and wanted to escape, but the big man grabbed the back of his neck before one of them left the surveillance camera. Judging from the expression on the gangster's face, the big man's hand became tighter and tighter. In just a few seconds, a large amount of blood was leaking from the gangster's mouth. This scene was like a tube of toothpaste being held to death by someone in the middle. His neck was twisted, his face was purple and blue, rolled his eyes, and his whole face began to swollen.

Finally, the big man grinned and knocked the gangster's head hard towards the hard bar. The scene was like a bulging pustule, being picked up by a needle, and the splashed liquid could fly far...

Paper man raised his head again and looked at the direction of the bar: "Okay, this explains the smell that has been circulating since I walked in..." He turned off the PVP670, handed it back to Deakin, and then asked, "Where is the one who escaped from the camera?"

Deakin said: "When he ran to the door, he was caught by a big man. You can definitely not imagine what the weapon was." He tilted his head in the direction of the table.

Paper man asked half-jokingly: "What? He made skewers of 'barbecue' with clubs?"

"Ha!" Deakin did not laugh, but just pretended to laugh dryly: "I said you couldn't think of it." He made a grip with his hands and said to his eyes: "The suspect stuffed a billiard ball into the kid's eye socket."

"Oh? I thought that thing was larger than our eye sockets."

Dean disagreed with Paper Man's joke: "Yes, that's why the deceased's eyebrows and cheekbones were broken. The murderer filled the deceased's brain capacity like forcibly stuck the puzzle into an inappropriate slot. Needless to say, we collected some brains that spilled out from the nostrils and ears, and the coroner would find an eyeball from a messed-up brain. The funniest thing since the New Year's party, right?" He stretched out his face: "Okay, the joke has ended here. This matter is fully handed over to you from now on. I don't want to tread this muddy water."

Paper Hero said: "I know, you are only responsible for the part that you take credit when closing the case."

"Hey! Listen, I know who is your damn copywriting job..."

"Okay OK, you and your people, keep clearing the scene, I have to go out and have some breath." Paper man interrupted Deakin's nagging and turned around and walked, and as he passed by a young police officer with a green face, he smiled and said, "Hey man, do you like cheese sandwiches?"

The other party turned around and bent down and vomited violently as soon as he heard this.
