Chapter 5 Preliminary Exploration of the Ruins
Chapter 5: First Discovery of the Remains
This was the morning of the second day after arriving in Rome.
The consultant wakes up from sleep, which is different from Tianyi's lazy indulgence. As long as conditions allow, the consultant treats his body as pious as enshrined in a temple.
When the sun rises, he must get up. If he can, he will not stay up late. The sleep time is controlled for about seven hours to ensure high-quality effective sleep. His diet is also regular and he will also do various examinations for himself regularly.
This is a very ironic phenomenon. A person with abnormal mental and personality is trying his best to ensure that the body functions must be operated normally.
After cleaning up, he walked out of the room. Sure enough, two knights with steel commandments at the door stood guard there happily. When the consultant came out, they didn't say anything, just looked at him coldly.
The consultant shrugged and brought two followers to the door of the gunsmith's room, where there were naturally two guards.
He knocked on the door of the gunsmith, but after half a minute, he still didn't respond. The consultant sighed, his hands were pressed together with five fingers, and he knocked rhythmically on the door panel. He seemed to be humming a song softly, but he couldn't hear anything just by listening to him slapping on the door panel.
Anyway, after knocking like this for two or three minutes, the sleepy gunsmith in shorts opened the door: "What are you doing?"
"What are you doing? Get up and do things." The consultant replied.
"What time is it?" the gunsmith complained: "The chicken hasn't rise yet."
"Do you have chickens in your room?" the consultant said.
"I have it in my intestines." The gunsmith replied.
"Then you go and bring the chicken in your intestines into the toilet, and say good morning to it and prepare to set off." After saying that, the consultant turned his head and left, heading towards the dark water room.
Just five seconds after knocking on the door, the door opened. "John DeSotho" wore a clean dress that was different from yesterday, without any fatigue, "Is it going to go?"
The consultant knew that this guy didn't need sleep, and he didn't find it strange, but said, "You go to the gunsmith's room to supervise it. I suspect he will fall down on the bed and continue to sleep."
The dark water replied, "Okay." He went there after that.
Not long after, the consultant heard the gunsmith's complaint ring again.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the hotel door. The consultant had already finished breakfast. He had no intention of leaving time for the gunsmith to eat, so he led the two of them into the special car prepared for them by the Iron Commandment.
A flag-holder named Suyside was waiting for the three people in the car, and he was the general manager at the airport yesterday. He was basically responsible for the prevention work of the anti-cross members this time. Because about half a year ago, Suyside had an experience in fighting against the anti-cross members head-on in Venice. Although it was a relatively failed action, the responsibility was not on him. Later, the Holy City Inspector General Camo Botrini took the blame alone. Suyside responded very well at the time and was recognized by the priest, but was reused in the organization.
The drive was not long, and the consultants did not take the initiative to talk to the people of the Iron and Steel Commandments. Soon, they arrived at one of the landmark buildings in Rome, the Colossim.
This place and its surrounding areas have long been blocked by steel rules. After getting off the bus, you can notice that the streets near the Colosseum are covered with a thin layer of dust. Of course, there are no sandstorms in Rome, so these dusts indicate that some major project that requires groundbreaking is underway here.
When you walk into the interior of the Colosseum, the first thing you notice is that the circular galaxy stage in the middle has disappeared, and it is replaced by a huge deep pit. Around the pit, scaffolding and simple lifting ladders, there is still a certain amount of space on the edge of the gladiator, and there are obviously marks of large tracks and tires on the ground. It can be seen that vehicles such as cranes and bulldozers have been operated here.
The outer edge of the arena, to the front row of the auditorium, the buildings in this space were also cleared, and column decorations with ancient Athenian architectural style were demolished. A "big hole" was opened on the wall on the west side of the Colosseum as a passage for engineering facilities to enter and exit.
"It's broken up like this..." The consultant took out a handkerchief from his pocket, covered his mouth and nose, walked slowly to the edge of the pit, and looked down: "There should have been a lot of space and tunnels directly below the arena, storing animals, gladiators, props, and even Naraku (a stage lifting device) and canals. You are..."
Before the consultant finished asking, Suyside said, "Just just dig it out and pour it out, it's no different from the soil."
"Haha... Should I pay silence for this masterpiece and miracle of ancient architectural art?" the consultant laughed.
"It's just a abandoned building site, recording the blood and tears of the oppressed people under slavery. Every stone seems to be carved with a group of ignorant and foolish people's cruel and crazy faces, and every handful of soil invades the blood of slaves and beasts." Lodovico's voice sounded, and Dasher followed him, and Venisa came, as she was stuffed with a lollipop in her mouth.
"There are many such non-functional buildings in this world that are of no value except for the memorial and symbolic meaning. Even if I don't want to dig out the treasure, I don't think there is much value in reserve." Lodovico continued.
The consultant laughed: "I admire the fact that the Holy Land Inspector General has such pragmatic values in an organization based on 'faith'. If your leader of the group attempts to build a giant statue for himself in the future, I hope you can slap him in the mouth and then spit in his face."
Lodovico snorted coldly: "Okay, I wonder what the three experts think about the current situation?"
"It seems that those large engineering vehicles have been no longer used, and I don't know where the digging soil is going. That means, your excavation has been stopped for a while." The gunsmith squatted by the pit. His eyes seemed to penetrate the darkness and saw what was underneath: "The depth is about one hundred meters, the bottom of the pit... or in other words, the top of the ruins is a pyramid structure. If nothing unexpected happens, is it really that..." He stood up and looked back at the dark water.
Dark Water's tone and behavior at this time was basically based on the late explorer John who was swallowed by him. Since the people of the Iron Commandment did not know John himself, Dark Water did not need to be disguised very well. Even if he acted like himself, as long as he maintained the appearance of an ordinary human, the other party would at most feel that this person was a little cold.
"The spire of the pyramid is just the uppermost part of the ruins. The space below is usually very huge, and it may not be connected in physical structure. There may be several or dozens of spires of such varying depths in the city of Rome. Some extend only as big as a football field, and some are so large that it is unimaginable that the bottom area may be wider than the entire Vatican territory." said Mianshui.
"What kind of ruin is this? Have you ever encountered it? Mr. John," asked Lodovico.
"Based on the existing literature and historical research results on the earth, this kind of ruin should be attributed to the Olmec civilization in Central America. I have a little research on this aspect." Mianshui replied. He was actually just fooling these laymen. He chose to use the memory in John's mind to explain this part of the knowledge.
This was originally the civilization he lived in, but was misinterpreted by humans many years later. If he wanted to use the actual situation he had mastered, it would have to be said last month. The technology, culture, economy, social system, etc. of their race were completely different from the concepts of human society, and they could not finish it in a few words. When he pretended to be John and talked to the gunsmith, he only used Olmek's words to make excuses.
"Oh! Is it the Mexican prehistoric civilization?" Dasher asked with his eyes shining. This guy with a big beard had attracted the attention of the three of them. His look was too Mexican and his skin was very authentic, but this guy had a strange accent. He seemed to speak Spanish at all, but he deliberately added a very inappropriate Spanish accent to English...
"Give me a little more peace..." Lodovico interrupted Dasher, with a little embarrassed expression, cleared his throat and said, "The problem is, ancient civilizations in Central America also have pyramids? Isn't that the Egyptians' patent? And..." He clearly showed a look of suspicion: "Why is the treasure of the fourteenth century Templars related to the ancient civilizations far away on the other side of the earth and buried in this ruins."
The consultant continued: "No one can answer you about the pyramids even if you search for archaeologists all over the world. Maybe you can get a clear answer to the alien research club at a certain university. As for why the treasure is in this ruins, I wanted to tell you yesterday, but you seemed to think that it was nonsense. Just dig it out. It doesn't matter how it is buried, so I'm too lazy to explain it to you now."
At this time, the gunsmith had already arrived at the nearest lift next to him: "I want to go down and take a look."
The consultant followed and gestured to the dark water to come over: "We want to go down and investigate, you need to send someone to keep an eye on it and come soon."
Only then did Venisa take out the lollipop stick from her mouth, and the candy was chewed and swallowed by her. She had not spoken since the beginning, but in fact she didn't want to take out the candy from her mouth, because the air here is not good, and it will definitely be covered with a lot of dust when she takes it out.
"Suyside, let's go down with them." Winesa didn't speak in an orderly tone, but she did seem to be giving orders, and Suyside did as if she was giving orders.
Lodovico said, "Big..." The word "Grand..." Just as he was about to say, Vinisa glared at him. He swallowed the words and could only say, "It's only you and Suyside, what if..."
"Don't worry, these three guys won't fight with us yet. Besides, you can't find a dozen people to target them with weapons." Winesa took out a hairband from her pocket, pulled her red hair into a ponytail, and got on the lift with Suyside, consultant, gunsmith, and secret water.
The place where the elevator can stand is about the same size as an ordinary elevator. Winesa was the last one to come up, and the consultant kept squeezing the others behind him, between Winesa and the others.
Winesa smiled and said, "What are you doing? Are you afraid that I will be eaten tofu?"
The consultant sneered: "Ha... if your ability is 'two strikes and kills', I hope your subordinates will show mercy."
"Ah? You actually knew you were hit?" Winesa said without hesitation: "I think you are a rank-level abilities at most. How did you find out?"
"If I share the process and method of knowing everything with others, I have to have at least eight hands and four mouths to be busy," the consultant replied.
In fact, his answer is equivalent to not answering. It seems to be showing off himself. In essence, it means: I am too lazy to explain to you, and I don’t want to explain to you.
The five people slowly descended on the elevator, and the surrounding soil layer had been reinforced with chemical preparations, so this vertical cylindrical structure would not collapse. The morning sun shone less than a hundred meters deep in the bottom of the pit, but the people above turned on the strong searchlight, which made the bottom of the pit very brightly.
When she descended to the end, Winesa no longer talked to the consultant. She walked out first to prevent others from having physical contact with her, so the consultant followed her with confidence, and the others followed her out of the lift.
There is still a lot of soil at the bottom of the pit, not a steep slope on all sides. It should be that the soil is deliberately left behind during excavation so that people can stand and walk after they come down.
A raised pyramid spire is exposed in the middle of the pit. It is made of black metal material, with very small textures on it, which can be distinguished by the naked eye. You can feel that these textures are slightly concave inward when you touch it. These are not arcs or irregular patterns, but geometric textures composed of straight lines and angles, which are laid on the metal surface like circuits. This seems to be different from the "ancient civilization" that people generally recognize, because the ancients seemed to have studied literature, and the things they portray are often abstract, and most of them are "painted" when they are left on the remains; but the circuit-like texture in front of them seems to be from the hands of a group of ancient people studying science. From the perspective of today's people, they can only be confused.
The dark water squatted there, looking at the patterns, and stroking his hands on the metal surface, as if he was thinking about something. The gunsmith was very straightforward and took out the improved and strengthened "bone gun" from his body without hesitation. It seemed that he was planning to use the old method of the jungle that time...
Suyside immediately became nervous when he saw him take out his weapon, but he also realized that the other party should not want to fight, so he tentatively said: "If you want to use that to attack this spire, I advise you to think twice. We have tried it, but the result is very bad."
The gunsmith said, "Ah, I can probably guess what the situation is, but my hand is different."
"Wait first." Unshui suddenly said: "He is right, it's better not to be tough."
After hearing what Anshui said, the gunsmith put the gun down and said in surprise: "What's wrong?"
"This place is different from the ruins we encountered last time, and it uses another construction mechanism." Dark Water pondered.
