Chapter 1 Survival

South America, Amazon River Basin.

The tropical rainforest stretches forty thousand square kilometers here, which is the last few uninhabited areas on the earth. The gunsmith's plane fell here.

As early as the end of the 19th century, the colonists came here. In the following century, the so-called civilized people began to destroy tribes and destroy ecology. It was not until the outbreak of the imperial united war, which indirectly affected the pattern of the human world, that all this stopped.

Some people have predicted that the greenhouse effect and the decline in rainfall will lead to the disappearance of this rainforest, but in the middle of the 21st century, many new technologies have given human beings the ability to intervene in bad situations. The birth of some new energy sources and the imperial iron-fisted policies have basically extinct those who make money by destroying the environment. Please note that the extinction I am talking about is not washing hands but extinction.

In an era of coherence between countries, unscrupulous businessmen colluded with the government and made huge profits by destroying the environment. When others asked why they did not care about their descendants, they could answer calmly, and when they had money, they could immigrate to cities like Vancouver or Singapore. As for the descendants of others, they had nothing to do with them.

In the era of imperial unification, the royal family had not yet found a way to immigrate to alien planets. Therefore, their attitude towards the environment was that if anyone dared to dig a carrot in my home, I would fill the pit of his whole family.

November 2100.

The gunsmith found five bodies from the wreckage of the plane. As expected, all of them were killed except himself. Although he didn't even know the names of these people, he still spent a lot of effort to dig a hole with half a piece of steel plate to bury them.

If the crash was a murder against him, then these five people would undoubtedly be innocent victims. Gunsmith thought so in his heart. He was not a superstitious person, but he would not have watched those people expose their bodies in the wilderness.

"If Tianyi changes, they will throw them into the river to feed the fish..." The gunsmith said to himself. When he encounters difficulties, he often thinks of this old friend. There seems to be nothing in this world that is difficult for Tianyi, as if you throw him into hell, and he will definitely be able to climb out.

The soil in the rainforest is soft and it takes a lot of time to bury people, but it doesn’t take much energy to remove the gunsmith. After doing his best, he has to consider the issue of survival and escape.

The gunsmith sat on the ground and ate the chocolate bars in the captain's pocket. It was the only thing he found to have to eat. After a little replenishment, he entered the fuselage again. After more than ten minutes, he returned outside and put a circle of seat belts on the cabin seat on his right shoulder, at least a dozen, carrying a stack of cloth covers on the seats in his right hand and carrying many mechanical parts in his left hand. I don't know where it was removed.

After stacking all the things, the gunsmith went to find the water source. He just heard the sound of running water, not far from the plane's fall, so at this moment he followed the direction of the sound and quickly found a small river.

It is not too difficult to find water sources in the rainforest, but the water may not be clean. In some swamps, ponds are stretching for several miles, and it seems to be a certain river. In fact, these are all stagnant waters. Due to the terrain and air humidity, they form and exist after rain. The water quality is very turbid, and God knows how many animals, plants and parasites are inside.

Although the river found by the gunsmith was not wide, it was obviously a tributary of a large river. A few trunks across the river mean that the river water might soar after rain. Those trunks were washed over at that time, and when the tide receded, they were stuck on the river.

The water here is not clear, but it is much better than the mud. The gunsmith went down the river, and the water flow was not very fast at this time. He stood at the shore, took off his clothes and washed them, and drank some water from the river. The taste was not very good, but at least it could replenish some water. Before leaving, he also observed the surrounding terrain and traces left by animals, but he had no harvest. Usually, large animals such as hippos can be found in open river valleys, but here it seems to be the core area with the most complex and dense swamps, rivers, and jungles.

The gunsmith has a poor sense of direction and can't drive any means of transportation, even horse riding, but he is an excellent hunter. When he was a child, on the vast white snow fields in Siberia, a light snow could cover the footprints left five minutes ago, but he could still identify the path. It was naturally no problem to travel back and forth in this jungle.

Following his footsteps, he quickly returned to the wreckage of the plane. At this moment, he was naked. Although he didn't feel cold, the mosquitoes in this place are not easy to mess with, so it's better to start a torch and dry your clothes and put them on.

Remaining Mars can be found everywhere on the broken body, and it is not difficult to light it. After more than ten minutes, the gunsmith had dried her clothes.

He sat by the fire, cut the cloth cover on the plane seat with a knife, pulled it into a long strip, then turned his trouser legs up to a more suitable length, and used a steel needle that was not much thinner than his fingers to tie the wiring, so that he could move more freely. Fortunately, because he felt uncomfortable before, he did not wear leather shoes, but his usual boots. Otherwise, in this jungle, leather shoes would be worn out soon and eventually turned into barefoot situations.

As Tianyi pointed out, the gunsmith was the most outstanding craftsman of this era. Therefore, in the next thirty minutes, he transformed a bunch of unknown and seemingly scrap iron equipment into a simple radio station, and also made a recording device to start automatically calling for rescue.

However, the only electricity is probably not going to last long, and the gunsmith also understands that this is just a lucky draw. No one will receive a distress signal with more than 90% chance. In such a place, in addition to expecting another plane to fly over the sky and the distance to receive the signal, they can only expect that there are drug dealers hiding deep in the vicinity.

After the gunsmith finished asking for help, he came to a broken trunk. Half of the empty trunk had accumulated some water. He picked a leaf slightly smaller than his palm. He took out his tie from his pocket, took off the metal pin on the tie, rubbed it repeatedly on the silk tie in the same direction for a while, then placed the leaves on the small flat water surface, and placed the pin on the veins in the center of the leaves.

This is similar to a compass. The leaves carrying pins float on the water surface and will gradually deflect. However, the scene that appeared in front of the gunsmith at this moment was very strange. The pin kept rotating and did not point in any direction steadily. It did not stop moving until it lost its magnetism after a period of time.

The gunsmith looked at the sky and said to himself: "Is this plane fallen by a magnetic field..."
