Chapter 17 Transfiguration Teacher

Matthew Wakefield slept peacefully that night.

"Accompany" the creatures of the Black Lake who swam through from time to time outside the window and the gentle waves that sounded in their ears at any time.

No strange dreams.

...

At six o'clock the next morning, Matthew walked out of the dormitory.

Before leaving, he fed the toad a few mealworms and locked the empty suitcase.

I have long heard that Hogwarts' stairs are very complex, and some stairs often change positions independently. Some portraits and ghosts even deliberately guide Xinsheng's way...

So Matthew got up very early to avoid getting lost between the complex corridors and hoped to be familiar with the road conditions.

But the facts proved that he was too worried. These stairs were far from as complicated as they imagined, and there were detailed signs at the entrance of each staircase, and every floor of the castle also had portraits dedicated to guiding the first-year students.

Everything was arranged in detail.

Matthew felt relieved and came to the auditorium.

The auditorium is the main gathering venue for the Hogwarts Magic School. Students usually eat here, receive mail and parcels from owls, and participate in special events organized by the school.

Although it is still early, there are already scattered students having breakfast here.

Matthew joined them.

In the UK, breakfast is always the most hearty, even Hogwarts is no exception.

As the Muggle proverb says: "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dinner like a beggar!"

Although it is not as luxurious as last year's dinner, it is also rich enough-

Bacon, sausage, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, baked beans, potato cubes, croissants, danish rolls, fried bread, cereal porridge, milk...

There is even a black pudding!

Except for the black pudding, Matthew took a little bit.

After a feast, all the food left in the plate and the plate itself disappeared.

But just as Matthew left, he met an acquaintance at the entrance of the auditorium.

"Wickfield." Penelo Crivat stopped.

"Hello, Miss Krivat." Matthew nodded with a smile.

"I didn't expect you to be assigned to Slytherin," Penelo said. "I mean, very few students from Muggle origin will be assigned there..."

“I was surprised by this too.”

"I wish you a happy stay at Hogwarts!"

"Thanks!"

The two of them exchanged a few simple greetings.

When the two separated, Lestrang, who was in the same grade and college, happened to come over and pass by Matthew.

They were not very familiar with each other, so they didn't say hello to each other.

...

The first class in the morning was a deformation technique class.

Matthew arrived in the classroom half an hour in advance.

Transformation was attended by Slytherin and Hufflepuff. When he entered the classroom, he saw three or two Hufflepuff freshmen waiting here.

After finding a front seat to sit down, Matthew found that the classroom was a bit strange.

All windows were covered by black curtains and sealed; at the same time, it was clear that it was daylight, but more than a dozen candles were lit in the classroom, relying on them to illuminate them.

Matthew frowned, then took out his "Basic Transformation Guide" and the Black Walnut Wand and placed it on the desk.

The first-year students of the two academies arrived soon; with the reminder from Professor Grindelwald yesterday, no one would be late for this first class.

Sitting next to Matthew was a tall, strong, and honest girl... He vaguely remembered that the branch hat called her name, as if it was "Millison Bearsted"?

Professor Troca arrived soon.

Although he looked slightly better than last night.

But he was still pale and very haggard.

He picked up the roster and started to name it first—

"Susan Bones...Millison Bearsde...Tresey Davis..."

Professor Troca's voice was very hoarse, as if he hadn't spoken for a long time.

After clicking the name, he put down the roster in his hand and glanced at the whole class.

"To be honest, when Professor Grindelwald came to me and asked me to become a teacher of the Transformation Class at Hogwarts; I was not very honored and very surprised." His husky voice slowly opened his mouth:

"I'm not sure if I have the ability to do this position. But now that I'm here at Hogwarts, I'll do my best to share the knowledge I have with you."

Draco Malfoy, on the right rear, suddenly let out a snicker... and seemed to be laughing at Professor Troca's decadent face and indecent dress with his followers Crab and Gole.

As if he had not heard his voice, Professor Troca continued to explain: "The Transformation is undoubtedly the most brilliant and dangerous among all magic."

“In this course, I will teach you how to learn and understand how to change the shape and appearance of an object, and even how to change their nature…”

He waved his wand as he said.

The podium in front of him began to gradually become smaller and finally turned into a clever badger.

The badger ran around the classroom, even leaving a small paw print on Matthew's desk.

And when the badger rushed to Draco Malfoy, Professor Troca waved his wand again-

The badger's body began to grow slowly and eventually turned into a giant snake.

Draco Malfoy screamed in fear and hugged Crab tightly.

Their embarrassing behavior caused everyone to burst into laughter.

The giant snake slowly crawled back to Professor Troca and finally turned back to the podium.

Under the podium, many students were instantly attracted and wished they could start learning immediately.

"If you want to learn transfiguration well, you must master two qualities." Professor Troca smiled and continued: "First, be decisive-"

"Deformation is different from ordinary spells. It is the most rigorous and precise magic. Any slight hesitation and distraction will lead to its incompleteness; even any unnecessary swing or spinning of the wand will lead to its failure."

"Secondly, be cautious-"

"Every process of deformation is an extremely dangerous process. Any failure of deformation may lead to irreversible consequences, resulting in a disaster!"

"The birth of sixteen magical animals is known to be related to the wizard's failed transformation techniques, including the infamous 'Five-legged Monster'..."

"And the world, at least dozens of wizards have died every year due to their failed transformation techniques, or have lifelong disability!"
