Chapter 44 The Room of Requirement

Ten minutes later, Matthew Wickfield arrived at the eighth floor of Hogwarts Castle.

Soon, he found a tapestry with the painting "Trolls Sticks Beats Barnabas". On the tapestries, several trolls who were insect-eaten, stopped beating the teacher who tried to teach them ballet, and turned his head to look at him.

Matthew ignored them and looked at a white wall opposite the tapestry.

The legendary "All Responsive House" should be in this location - this is a very wonderful house that can only be entered when a Hogwarts student really needs it; but when it appears, it is always arranged to meet the needs of the helper.

As early as the first day after arriving at Hogwarts, Matthew was looking forward to visiting the "House for Responsibility" for a look.

However, at that time, he still suppressed his desire.

After all, the location of the house that meets the request is quite hidden inside Hogwarts; among the teachers and students in the school, not many people know about it. A freshman from Muggle found this place just after school starts. If someone discovers it, it may cause some suspicion.

And now, at least I have been in Hogwarts for about a month...

Matthew walked to the window at one end of the white wall and turned back, and then turned back to the vase that was one person high at the other end, and repeated this three times.

At the same time, he narrowed his eyes and focused his thoughts, whispering: "I need a library!"

When he turned around for the third time, a very smooth door appeared on the wall.

Matthew held the copper handle and opened the door with a light force.

Then he walked in-

There is a very clean and spacious room inside.

Every floor was polished brightly, every bookshelves were made of mahogany, and every row of books was as neat as guards lined up...

There was a quiet surroundings, and the air was filled with a faint fragrance of book pages.

Torches were lit above the head and on the walls around them; like in the underground classroom, but they were much brighter than the underground classroom.

Matthew clenched his fist gently.

He succeeded!

...

Matthew walked through rows of bookshelf and reached out to touch the spine of the large and thick sheepskin-faced books.

"Ordinary Spells and Skills"... "Smart Extreme Magic"... "Self-Defense Spell Collection"...

The library that "All Responds to Request" is actually not as large as the real Hogwarts Library, and obviously not as complete as the books.

But here, you can easily read some "banned books" that can only be found in the Hogwarts Library in the forbidden book area.

Perhaps, in the future, I can transfer part of the time I spent in the library to here.

A smile appeared on Matthew's face.

The only thing that is not bad is probably the only thing that comes from the Slytherin public lounge in the basement to the 8th floor’s stairs. Every time I come here, I have to climb the stairs for several minutes!

While thinking, he kept wandering around several bookshelfs related to black magic defense and magical animals, opening one book after another—

There are sixteen human-type magical creatures with blood-sucking ability. In addition to the five extinct, there are eleven... Among them, the more common ones include vampires, Balkan werewolfs and female yakshas.

At the same time, some mixed species of magical creatures and wizards can also maintain the instinct of blood-sucking, such as semi-vampires... In this way, if they are arranged and combined, there will be more possible species.

But when we read the unicorn-related content, Matthew noticed one thing-

The blood of unicorns has extremely strong magic power. It can help weak wizards restore their strength and also help dying wizards prolong their lives. Moreover, unicorns are quite rare magical animals. There is only one species raised in the forbidden forest of Hogwarts in the whole of England.

This reminds Matthew of the first plot of the original work, when Voldemort possessed Quirrell, he once killed a unicorn to drink blood and restored part of his power.

In other words, the one who attacked the unicorn may not be a blood-sucking species, but a simple wizard.

A wizard who desires power or life!

But this question arises. Who was attacked by Ronald Weasley? His blood is not like a unicorn, and it has the effect of prolonging life.

Or is it that attacking Weasley is just to blame and then divert the public's attention?

There is this possibility...but it is just a possibility.

If you think about it carefully, there are indeed many doubts about the incident in which Weasley was attacked.

Why did the "murderer" attack him... At that time, he was just cleaning in the prize showroom.

If the "murderer" is because of his desire for blood... Why not attack the single students, but attack one of the small group of "three people and one dog"? Obviously, the success rate of the former will be much higher than the latter.

If it was because Weasley accidentally saw something that caused the "murderer" to do this... Then why did Crab and Gole, who were in the prize showroom with Weasley, just be knocked out?

Or is there a conflict between the "murderer" and the Weasley family?

In an instant, Matthew thought of many possibilities in his mind, but most of them were not reliable...

He hoped that the "murderer" launched the attack in the prize showroom just to divert his attention.

Because this means that the possibility of a third attack will be very low.

The lives of other people in Hogwarts will not be threatened.

...

Before he knew it, Matthew had been in the house for half an hour.

Now it’s less than a quarter of an hour before the magic class class.

Matthew put all the books he had turned out back to his original position, and then walked out of the door of the house that he would like to ask.

On the way, he suddenly noticed that there was an empty bookshelf...

Other bookshelfs were filled with books, but this one was empty and looked very disharmonious.

So he came over with curiosity.

Strictly speaking, this bookshelves cannot be said to be empty.

However, on the middle floor of the bookshelf, there is a book sitting alone.

Quaternal booklets, subtle book covers, yellowed paper...a old book that is so familiar.

Matthew narrowed his eyes.

"Long time no see!" he said hello.
