Chapter 70 Test
Christmas should be a day to celebrate.
The wizards of ancient Rome believed that this day was the hope of spring and the beginning of the revival of all things.
But for Matthew Wakefield, he didn't have any mood to celebrate today.
He didn't even bother to go for breakfast, and he returned to the Slytherin's common room again.
Facing the emerald green flames burning in the fireplace, Matthew shook the book out of his pocket and shook it onto a round table in the common room.
...
What just happened is undoubtedly contrary to Matthew's previous perception.
He originally thought that this book was a powerful black magic item, and it frequently appeared around him in order to take his life.
So for the past four months, he has been trying to avoid getting involved in this book.
Draco Malfoy, who was previously sent to the school hospital, further verified his judgment.
Until today, he suddenly realized that his previous judgment was completely wrong...
Mr. Pringer found the book in his office, then took it and found himself, and patted his head with it...
If this book is the same as when facing Draco Malfoy before, it can completely let itself and Mr. Pringer die suddenly on the spot!
However, it did not do that, at least Matthew is still alive and well.
So, why...
Matthew lowered his head and looked at the book straight.
The cover and back cover made of leather seem to have undergone a slight change compared to the first time Matthew saw it... the original strange color has become slightly more relaxed.
Perhaps because of this, Mr. Pringer just found it next to the office, he didn't feel anything unusual.
At the same time, two lines of green words were written on the cover of the book:
"Matthew Wakefield."
"Slytherin first grade."
No wonder Mr. Pringer was able to find himself...
Matthew blinked, and he decided to do a small experiment!
Back in the dormitory, he took out his little pet, the black-framed toad, from the cage.
This little guy has been here for four months and has nothing to do except eat mealworms all day; and now it is time to prove its value.
"Qua!" The poor little guy let out a soft cry, completely unaware of what the fate of waiting for it was.
Matthew grabbed it with his right hand, took it to the common room, and came to the fireplace.
Gently throw it onto the book.
The toad subconsciously wanted to jump away.
But Matthew's left hand had already raised his wand:
"Everything is petrified!"
The toad's whole body became stiff in an instant, and it collapsed on the book and stopped moving.
As for Matthew, he sat in the armchair beside him and quietly watched everything in front of him.
...
Time passed minute by minute.
Matthew was not impatient at all and was waiting patiently.
On the way, the Slytherin's seventh-grade girl returned to the common room; when she saw the toad on the round table, she immediately showed a disgust expression, hurriedly walked away, and returned to her dormitory.
Until it was almost noon, Matthew felt that his experiment was almost done.
He raised his wand again and pointed it at the toad:
"The curse is stopped!"
The petrification curse was lifted.
"Qua!" The black-framed toad let out a loud scream, and then jumped away suddenly.
It was very cheerful to jump around in the Slytherin's common room, with vitality and life completely unaffected.
The experiment was very successful!
Matthew looked at the toad jumping around incredible ways, and then read the book.
In the communal lounge, it seemed like a breeze blew.
Suddenly, the book opened itself.
It's still the previous page, and the handwriting on it is still clearly visible:
"I have no malice to you!"
This line of green words appeared in front of him again.
Matthew took a deep breath, and a finger in his depth slowly, slowly touched the pages.
Nothing unusual.
Two fingers…and then one hand…
Matthew himself was still not affected at all.
Could it be that... this book is true?
...
From the pen holder on the table, Matthew took out a quill and dipped it ink.
Then he wrote on the page:
"Hello!"
The black ink shone on the paper for a second, then it seemed to be sucked in by the paper and disappeared without a trace.
And the previous line of green handwriting also disappeared.
And a few seconds later, a line of dark green text flashed again on the paper:
"Hello, Matthew!"
Matthew's expression looked a little serious.
Once again, the quill was covered with ink, and then he quickly wrote:
"What the hell do you want to do?"
Just one second later, he received a reply.
The book reads: "I just want to help you."
Matthew couldn't help but laugh. He tried to make his expression serious, and then wrote on the paper:
“I don’t need any help.”
This time, the answers from the book seem a little dense:
"No, you need...I can tell you the root of all this attack in Hogwarts...I can tell you how Grindelwald is...I can even teach you unimaginable, powerful magic..."
Matthew's mouth was crooked, and once again covered in ink:
"So, what's the price?"
The previous bunch of words disappeared, and replaced by a line of dark green, very attractive small words:
“No cost is required!”
As soon as this line of words appeared, Matthew wrote very sloppy:
"Okay, thank you very much... I will definitely come to you when I need it!"
Before this line of black ink traces disappeared, Matthew decisively closed the entire book completely.
Then, he took it back to his dormitory and received it into the drawer on his desk.
...
After clapping his hands, he walked out of the dormitory without hesitation, and then out of the common room.
I didn't eat all morning and I was so hungry that I was a little roaring.
While rushing towards the auditorium, Matthew muttered to himself:
"What are you lying to me?"
