Chapter 421: Seven days and seven nights
Xuanzang slowly woke up from his coma. When he opened his eyes, he saw a strange place. He wanted to sit up but felt weak all over, especially his legs hurt so much that he couldn't help but moan.
"You are finally awake!" At this moment, a familiar voice suddenly sounded, and then a young face came to Xuanzang with a smile. This made Xuanzang stunned at first, and then said in surprise, "You... who are you? Why do I feel that you are a little familiar!"
"What, Master Xuanzang, don't you remember it's down?!" Li Xiu was stunned at first, then asked with a smile.
"It seems to remember, but it seems to not remember. Where is this? What's wrong with me?" Xuanzang asked with confusion at this time. He felt unspeakable and uncomfortable all over his body, and his mind was blank. He couldn't remember what he had experienced before, and even his identity was a little blurred.
"Master Xuanzang, why did you forget? In order to ask the prince to agree to your journey to the west to seek scriptures, you knelt in front of Liangyi Hall for seven days and seven nights. Finally, you were exhausted and fainted. I happened to get the news, so I took you to this clinic. You have been unconscious here for a day!" Li Xiu frowned and explained. He was really worried that Xuanzang would be stupid for being hungry.
Hearing Li Xiu's reminder, Xuanzang felt a flash of lightning flashing in his mind. He suddenly thought of his previous experience and his identity, which made him look stunned. Then he didn't know where he got the strength, but he struggled to sit up, then put his hands together and bowed to Li Xiu, "Thank you for your rescue!"
Seeing that Xuanzang finally remembered his identity, Li Xiu breathed a sigh of relief and smiled and said, "Master Xuanzang, don't be too polite. You and I met last time, because I was destined to be. I happened to learn that you fainted in front of Liangyi Hall, so I sent you to the clinic. Your body is still very weak now, so drink this first!"
Li Xiu turned around with a smile, then picked up a bowl of water from the table and sent it to Xuanzang, saying, "This is a bowl of honey water. The reason why Xuanzang fainted was actually hungry. Moreover, the reason why he was able to kneel in front of Liangyi Hall for seven days and seven nights was mainly because Li Xiu had ordered the guards to send him some water every day. Otherwise, if he really didn't drink water for seven days, he would probably die of thirst. As for not eating for seven days, although it might not kill people, it would also make people extremely weak.
Xuanzang was not polite. He took the honey water and drank it all. However, when the bowl of water was under, his stomach, which had not felt anything, seemed to wake up all of a sudden, which made him feel extremely hungry. So he looked up and said to Li Xiu, "Mr. I am hungry, but I have anything to eat?"
"Wait a little longer, you've been hungry for too long. Eating rashly will make your stomach unable to bear it. Someone will bring you porridge later!" Li Xiu replied with a smile.
Li Xiu was also very impressed by Xuanzang's perseverance. At first, he thought that Xuanzang would not be able to stand it if he knelt for one or two days at most, but he did not expect that he would kneel for seven days and seven nights. When he carried him back, the doctor said that his knees were broken and even his bones were exposed. If he did not treat him, his legs would probably be ruined.
"I'm sorry, the prince consort is troubled!" Xuanzang heard this and said to Li Xiu again. Perhaps the honey water just now had its effect. He felt that he had become more energetic than before, and his body seemed to have recovered a little strength, and his mind became clearer, but his face was still yellow and he looked listless.
"Master Xuanzang is so polite. You just woke up and need more rest, so I won't disturb you. In addition, I have already agreed with the doctor of this clinic that you will rest here for peace of mind in the past few days, and I will take time to visit you!" Li Xiu stood up at this time and said. In fact, he was also very interested in Xuanzang and wanted to talk to him, but it was not a big deal now.
"Please stay with you, the prince consort!" Before Li Xiu left, Xuanzang suddenly called him first and said.
"Oh? Is there anything else for Master Xuanzang?" Li Xiu couldn't help but stop and turned around and asked.
"I have long heard that the prince consort is famous for its erudition and talent. There is almost nothing in the world that you don't know, so I have a few questions to ask the prince consort for advice, and ask the prince consort for advice!" Xuanzang bowed to Li Xiu again at this time.
"This...your body..."
"The prince-consort doesn't have to worry about the body of my monk. Asceticism is a way of practicing. I have been practicing asceticism for three years before, and my body is much stronger than that of ordinary people!" When Xuanzang spoke, his eyes also had something called persistence. Perhaps it was this courage to move forward that was the reason why he was able to obtain the true scriptures.
"Okay, I don't know what Master Xuanzang has. But if you ask me questions about Buddhism, you may be disappointed, because I don't know much about Buddhism?" Li Xiu finally nodded after hearing this, but in the end he did not hide his shortcomings. Although he knew a little about everything, he didn't understand it deeply. For example, in Buddhism, Xuanzang was definitely hundreds of times better than him.
"Your Majesty is polite. What I want to ask about Buddhism is not Buddhism, but about the way to travel west!" Xuanzang said with a firm look on his eyes. The seven days and seven nights of kneeling did not dispel his obsession, but became more firmer.
When Li Xiu heard Xuanzang ask this question, he couldn't help but smile bitterly. Unexpectedly, Xuanzang was still thinking about traveling west to seek Buddhist scriptures at this time. However, he knew this question, so he thought about it and said, "Master Xuanzang, there are two roads from the Tang Dynasty to Tianzhu. The first is to go west through the Western Regions, then bypass Tubo, and enter from the southwest of Tianzhu. Because there is an insurmountable mountain between Tianzhu and Tubo, and only the southwest of the southwest of it, it is just that this road is very difficult and may take several years to reach Tianzhu."
"As for the second road, it is naturally sea road. Although sea roads also have great risks compared to land, if you can find a suitable fleet, it may be easier to reach India."
"Thank you for your answer, but I think it's more suitable for me by land. The true scriptures are in India, and they are also in my heart. If you want to obtain them, you not only have to reach India, but also have to sharpen your true heart and see your true self." Xuanzang explained with a smile. This is also the first time he explained the true meaning of seeking scriptures to others.
Li Xiu sighed inwardly when he heard this, and thought to himself that this was true. When he first met Xuanzang, he realized from the other party's words that Xuanzang had another idea about seeking scriptures, and now he finally heard him speak it out in person.
