Chapter 3 Ah Chou and Niuniu

That winter, Niu Niu's mother fell ill. Maybe she could still survive the ordinary disease, but this time it didn't work. She was very sick. Niu Niu Niu's mother became more and more haggard. Gradually, she couldn't even struggle to beg.

One day, the thin and lonely Niu Niu Niu was lying in the dilapidated temple, and the sun shone on her body. The sun was still bright and her face was still gray.

Niu Niu lay on her mother and cried helplessly. Ah Chou was on the other side, and tears were rolling in his eyes, but he forced himself to prevent the tears from falling. Since he cried in Huanshan Village for a whole afternoon, his eyes were swollen and hoarse, he has never cried again, as if his tears had already cried since then.

Niu Niu Niu held Niu Niu's thin little hand in one hand and A Chou with the other. Her eyes were so sad, and the kind of helplessness, desolation, thoughts, attachment and pain were heartbreaking.

"A Chou, Niu Niu... I'll ask you..."

Niuniang knew that Ah Chou was still young, and knew that this stubborn child had been reluctant to beg for him. He couldn't even support himself, but she had no one to entrust her. The beggars in the temple hid far away and looked at the dying her with cold eyes. She could not see a trace of sympathy from those numb eyes.

"Niu Niu..."

Niu Niu Niu sighed, and her thin hands were placed weakly on top of Niu Niu's head. After rubbing it a few times, it disappeared suddenly. Her eyes did not close, and a tear gently slid to her cheeks along the corners of her eyes.

"Ah Mother! Ah Mother..."

Niu Niu hugged her mother's body and burst into tears.

Ah Chou's eyes turned red. He had red eyes, gritted his teeth, held back tears, gently stroked Niu Niu Niang's eyes, got up and walked out.

Niu Niu leaned on her mother's body and kept crying. When she cried until she had no strength to cry again, Ah Chou came back.

Ah Chou was like a puppy rolling in the mud, dirty. He walked back to the ruined temple weakly, sat next to Niu Niu. After gasping for a long time, he pulled up the more than half of the broken bamboo mat, pushed Niu Niu Niu onto the straw mat, and grabbed the straw mat and pulled it out of the ruined temple.

On the grass by the river, A Chou dug with a stick and digging it with his hands, and dug a hole out.

If a person dies, he will be buried in peace.

His relatives, his parents, and his sister all turned into ashes in the raging fire. At that time, he was like Niu Niu, with only horror and crying at a loss. After a little awakening, he fled from the mountain village. Now he at least has the strength to let Niu Niu Niu Niu get into peace, rather than becoming an abandoned corpse in the gutter.

A Chou used his blood-seeking hands to bury Niu Niu Niu into the pit. A small wooden board was inserted in front of the grave as a tombstone, and he no longer had the strength to move.

Since then, A Chou and Niu Niu depend on each other and love each other with brothers and sisters.

She no longer called him A Chou, but called him A brother, and he still called her Niu Niu.

Ah Chou still insisted on stealing and was often beaten, so the two of them often went hungry.

Niu Niu was taken care of by her mother since childhood. She didn't know much about begging. The territory where she often asked for things was occupied by other beggars. She couldn't get much food. Once, she was bitten by a vicious dog raised by a family and could not move for several days. Ah Chou couldn't steal things, so she was about to starve to death.

A Chou was like a desperate wolf, squatting beside the dying Niu Niu, looking at her faintly. Niu Niu didn't know what A brother was thinking. In fact, she had never understood A brother. She only knew that A brother was kind to her. Since her mother passed away, A brother has been her only relative in this world.

Ah Chou looked at her faintly. After watching for a long time, he tied his hungry belly with a straw rope and walked out with weak steps.

The beggars in the temple immediately became indignant. They said that Niu Niu Niu had a ungrateful wolf, and Ah Chou left Niu Niu to fend for herself and no longer cared about her, but they were reluctant to take out a piece of begging food.

Niu Niu didn't believe them, she didn't believe that the one who climbed up to the tall tree to touch her bird eggs, the one who used branches to pounce dragonflies for her, and the one who caught fish for her to eat would leave her alone, she believed that the one who would come back, maybe... the one who dug her grave, just like the mother who buried her at the time.

She thought that she would soon see her mother, and she felt a sense of joy and peace. She thought that she would be separated from her brother from now on, and she felt a sense of reluctance and melancholy. She didn't know what the world of death was like, but her instinct for life and her instinct for death made her heart full of fear.

She waited for a long time and thought for a long time until she no longer had the strength to think about it. The beggars' indignation stopped. Niu Niu saw that her brother was back and he was leaving weakly, but his hands were not worn out or covered with soil. He held the broken clay pot in his hand, and half a can of hot porridge was filled with the clay pot.

Ah Chou fed Niu Niu bite and mouth to mouth.

Their lives are as cheap as weeds on the ridges of the fields. Even if there are many people trampling them, they will still survive tenaciously.

Niu Niu is alive.

This winter, the nearest part of the fire was occupied by other beggars. The two children were at the farthest point. The holes on the top of their heads were falling on them. Snowflakes fell on them. They were covered with straw, hugged each other tightly, and leaned against the temperature on each other to resist the cold.

Spring is here, and my brother has gone from a stuttering, shy and hard to bear to be a stupid beggar who has become a very clever and capable little beggar.

The boy who was stubborn in the past, would rather steal and then be beaten was used to being a beggar. Perhaps there was still a bit of stubbornness, a bit of pride, and a persistence in his heart, but for Niu Niu, he hid all this deeply in his heart.

In spring, rain is like silk and thread, woven a dense net between heaven and earth.

A Chou and Niu Niu ran barefoot in the rain, like a pair of fish in the water.

Their shoes were decayed, and Niu Niu Niu Niu had turned into a piece of loess, so she could no longer weave straw sandals for them.

A Chou and Niu Niu ran to a clump of banana trees, and the fat banana leaves became their umbrellas. Although the rain still flowed down the leaves, it was much more comfortable than pouring them directly on their faces.

A Chou took out the bun that he had just begged for like a treasure from his arms, but it was soaked in the rain, A Chou had a bitter face. The well-behaved Niu Niu hurriedly comforted him: "Brother, it's okay. I ate a lot of mulberries today, and my teeth were all over. If the bun is too hard, I can't bite it."

She said, trying hard to smile at Brother A and show a playful little tiger teeth that had just grown.

Aschou rubbed her head, and her head became messy like a bird's nest.

The two of them held half of the soaked buns, rolled them into cups with tender banana leaves, picked up rainwater, filled their belly with a mouthful of rainwater and a mouthful of steamed buns.

The rain is still as silk as threads...

In the summer, something happened, which prompted Ah Chou and Niu Niu to leave the ruined temple, so they had no one else to live in.

That summer night, the moon was very round.

Ah Chou was awakened by a cry. When he woke up, he found that the young beggar nicknamed Little Wolf also lived in this dilapidated temple was pounced on Niu Niu, ripping her already ragged clothes, and a smelly mouth was still kissing her.

Niu Niu is still young, she doesn't know what the little wolf is going to do to her, but a girl's intuition makes her know that something terrible will happen to her, so she burst into tears.

The beggars in the dilapidated temple were awakened. They looked at everything that happened in front of them with a warm and weird look. No one spoke. As they looked, their eyes even became eager to try. Their eyes were strange and terrible.

A Chou was awakened and watching the little wolf bully A Mei, A Chou suddenly became another person. Perhaps that person had been locked in the cage in his heart, tortured and nourished with hatred and shame, and had long become a ferocious beast. At this moment, the prison door was wide open and the beast was released.

Ah Chou's eyes were red, and the veins on his forehead stretched one by one. He roared angrily and threw himself on the little wolf's body, grabbing, scratching, and biting, using his entire body as a weapon.

The little wolf is nicknamed Xiaolang, but Ah Chou transformed into a real wolf at this moment!

His thin body and the strong little wolf could throw him onto the wall and throw it into a meat pie with just a swing of his hand. But at this time, he didn't know where he got such a lot of strength. He stuck to the little wolf's body and fought to the death. He attacked frantically. He first bit off half of the little wolf's ear, and then tore off a piece of meat from the little wolf's shoulder.

The little wolf screamed in pain, punching him one by one. The blood spurted out of A Chou's mouth splattered the little wolf's face, but only his sharp teeth were restored. When the little wolf saw A Chou's cruel eyes like a wild wolf at this moment, he suddenly realized that A Chou, who was often dazed, might have been crazy. He finally collapsed and ran away with howling.

Ah Chou's face was covered in blood, his eyes were swollen, and he bit a fuzzy mass of flesh and blood in his mouth. He crawled back to the crying Niu Niu step by step, and hugged her tightly.

A bright moonlight was cast on the hole on the top of the temple. The moonlight was shining on A Chou's body. A Chou's face was covered with blood, and his fierce eyes passed through all the beggar's faces one by one, like a wounded wolf defending his sovereignty, saying word by word: "Whoever wants to bully her, beat me to death first!"

The beggars turned over and fell asleep, as if nothing had happened. Only the sound of Niu Niu crying in the dilapidated temple. Ah Chou hugged her, and the blue moonlight shone on them. After a long time, Ah Chou suddenly burst into tears silently. This was the first time that Niu Niu saw him crying.

Niu Niu was very nervous. She thought Ah Brother was in pain, so she stopped crying. She leaned over sensiblely and gently blew on Ah Chou's swollen eyes. She gently rubbed his bruised cheeks with her thin little hands. She just wanted to stop Ah Chou's tears. Seeing Ah Brother crying, her heart hurts very much. The pain exceeded her fear.

But brother's tears flowed more and more, so Niu Niu also started crying.

A Chou hugged her tightly and choked and said, "Niu Niu, I'm so scared. I've really become a beggar! I'm afraid... One day, I will become a walking corpse like them. Niu Niu, Brother Ah really becomes a beggar!"

Niu Niu couldn't understand Brother A's words. Brother A often said strange things that she couldn't understand at all, but she knew that Brother A really loved her. Since her mother died, Brother A was her only relative in this world. It doesn't matter whether she understood Brother A's words or not. As long as she knew Brother A was good to her, that was enough.

She raised her little face and looked at her brother's tears in her eyes. His eyes were so sad. The look seemed exactly the same as the look when her mother passed away suddenly. It was helpless, desolate, sad, and heartbreaking.

Niu Niu was afraid of losing him, just like her mother who lost her. She hugged Ah Chou tightly with tears and said to him: "Whatever Brother A wants to do, then do whatever he wants. No matter what Brother Ah, Niu Niu is with Ah, whether it is a beggar or a steal, as long as she is with Ah, it doesn't matter!"

A Chou and Niu Niu left the dilapidated temple overnight. They were worried that the little wolf who fled in panic would come back. With courage alone, they could not protect themselves. They were still beggars because this was their only way to survive. But A Chou was determined to find something to do, and he wanted to live, live like a person.

Because of their departure, a legend that belongs to them began.

Legends have always been created by miracles.

What is a miracle?

Miracles can be extraordinary people doing extraordinary things, or they can be many accidental intercourses, forming a wonderful coincidence.

The miracles belonging to A Chou and Niu Niu include both coincidences, extraordinary people and extraordinary things!
