Chapter 4 The Living Lenin
"Lenin!"
Hessman called out the name, opened his eyes wide open, staring at the iconic oversized forehead of the Revolutionary Mentor sitting on a bench.
Lenin's legs were covered with a blue blanket, a gray scarf on his shoulders, a thin wooden board and a spread paper book on his knees, and a pen in his hand, tilting something. Lenin's book was blowing from the snowy top of the Alps. He was about to finish his day's writing, and when he went to the restaurant to have supper with his wife Krupskaya and his confidante Armand, he heard someone shouting his alias. He raised his head and looked in the direction where the sound came, and saw his old friend Max Green, Green's beautiful sister Eva and another young man he didn't know. The shout seemed to be made by the young man.
"Hello Comrade Lenin!" Hessman quickly stepped forward and extended his right hand to Lenin excitedly - not only because he saw the legendary mentor, but also Hessman also saw the hope of the Third Reich from his mentor.
Lenin was stunned for a moment. The young man obviously knew him, but he didn't remember seeing him before. However, out of politeness, the revolutionary mentor stood up and reached out to shake the other party.
"Sir, do you know me? Have we ever seen me?"
"I've seen it, of course I've seen it, in Moscow Red Square!" Hessmann stared at Lenin with interest. This Lenin looked much younger and more energetic than he saw when he last traveled to Moscow.
"Moscow...Red Square?" Lenin tried hard to recall, and he really couldn't remember the gentleman he had seen in front of him in Red Square in Moscow.
"I think you didn't see me at that time, I just looked at you from a distance." Hessman explained with a smile. He did not lie to his mentor. He did see Lenin in Red Square in Moscow - in the tomb of Lenin! At that time, Lenin was just lying quietly, without moving.
"Oh, so that's it." Lenin thought to himself that he hadn't been to Moscow for more than ten years. If the young man in front of him had seen him in Moscow, he should have been a child at that time, right?
"Then you are..." Lenin became interested in the young man in front of him and asked with a smile.
"I am Otto Braun, a German Socialist." Hessman lied seriously.
"Oh." Lenin glanced at the "Grimm Brothers" who were walking quickly and thought to himself: This young man who came with them should also be the representative of the German government? I don't know who was behind it? It would be great if it was the General Staff of the Germans. Now the situation in Russia is changing rapidly, and most of himself and the Bolshevik comrades are in exile in foreign countries. Without the assistance of the Germans, even the country cannot go back, let alone the revolution.
"Ferradimir Ilyic, I'm so happy to see you."
"So too, Oscar, it's great that you can come to Qiujiweizer."
"Ferradimir Ilyic, I'm married, this is my husband Otto Braun, who is my classmate at the University of Munich, a Socialist."
"Eva, this is so good, congratulations."
Heinsberg and Etel had already walked to Lenin, and the three of them deceived each other - although Lenin had long seen through the "Grimm brothers and sisters", he still pretended to know nothing - and then hugged, which shows that they were really familiar with each other.
"You are here just in time. Today is Armand preparing supper, with delicious French cuisine." Lenin took the hand of the "Grimm Brothers and Sisters" toward the house.
It was a three-story building built with the most common wood in the Alps. It was not luxurious, but it was cleaned up inside. Lenin and his two women rented two rooms. He sometimes spent the night with Krupskaya, but more often he was with the French woman Armand.
The mentor's wife and confidante were very familiar with the "Grimm Brothers and Sisters" and welcomed their arrival very much, especially Heinsberg brought some delicious food every time he arrived, either corned beef, beef tongue and lamb shoulder. For the Qiujiweizer Nursing Home, which only serves dairy products, these delicacies are very rare.
In addition, Heinsberg will also prepare some special "gifts" for Lenin - a new list of major libraries in Zurich or Bern.
The Swiss library service is very thoughtful and there is no need to come to the door in person. Just send a postcard with the application form with the address to the library and you can borrow any book. This is very helpful for Lenin's research work.
Hessman, Etel and his mentor sat down at a not-so-large desk, and the beautiful French woman Armand brought the three of them a fragrant Russian coffee - made of egg yolks, milk, chocolate, vodka, sugar, cream and coffee. Heinsberg and Kruskaya were busy preparing supper in the kitchen.
Hessman picked up a cup of coffee and took a sip. He found that there was a strong wine in it and frowned slightly. Lenin had been observing Hessman. Seeing this subtle change in expression, he smiled and said, "Comrade Braun, are you accustomed to Russian coffee?" He spoke Russian.
"Is it a little unaccustomed to it? Is it added vodka?" Hessman also answered in Russian. He didn't speak Russian in his previous life, but he could speak after regenerating Hessman. "But I still like it very much, because in Germany, it's hard to get milk now without coffee and it's been a long time since I tasted these two things."
This lie is very unsavory. Looking at Hessman's figure and complexion, you will know that he is definitely not lacking in milk.
However, Lenin didn't care about this. He just sighed: "Germany just has no coffee, lacks milk, and may not have much meat. But in Russia, even black bread is almost gone!" He picked up the coffee cup and took a sip, "But the Russian Provisional Government is just like the Tsar, just thinking about war!"
"Because they are as stupid as the Tsar," Hessman gently hammered the table with his fist, "they didn't realize who the real enemy of Russia was?"
"Yes! They didn't realize it!" Etel echoed and spoke. However, Lenin looked at Hessman while drinking coffee.
Hessmann emphasized his tone: "In fact, Germany and Russia are both objects of containment by the British Empire, and are enemies opposed by the international capitalist groups that controlled the British Empire! Even our old rival, France, suffered all the hardships of Britain. When the Napoleon Empire was at its peak, Britain organized anti-French alliances again and again. When Russia was strong, the British joined forces with France and Turkey to launch a war (referring to the Crimean War). When Germany led by Prussia rose and revived, Britain wooed France and Russia... In fact, Britain's policy was to let us European powers kill each other to maintain the rules of the game in which the international capitalist groups dominated the world!"
"Oh?" Lenin did not agree with Hessman's argument, his tone was sarcastic. "I think you must think that Britain and this...the plot of the international capitalist group will be smashed by the German Empire?"
Hessman looked at Lenin, "Why did you have such a judgment?"
"Isn't the situation very clear?" Lenin shrugged. "The main reason for the revolution in February was not to oppose the Tsar, but to oppose the war! If the Provisional Government could follow the public opinion and negotiate peace with Germany, then it could stabilize. In this way, Germany and Austro-Hungary could transfer a large number of troops from the Eastern Front to the Western Front, and they would be enough to destroy France!"
Hessman shook his head: "But what if the interim government is unwilling to negotiate?"
"Yes, they don't want it!" Lenin sneered. Although he was in Switzerland, he could still get important information from Russia. "They will continue to fight, regardless of the fact that the Russian army is disintegrating! Those stupid people (referring to the Cadets, Progressives, Mensheviks and Social Revolutionary Party) are so naive, thinking that they can win by taking the command of the Tsar. But the cruel reality will teach them a lesson and educate the Russian people, and then there will be a second revolution! The Bolsheviks will be in power, and the Bolsheviks are truly willing to achieve peace. In this way, Germany and Austro-Hungary can transfer the troops on the Eastern Front to the Western Front?"
Hessman's face sank, he leaned on the back of the hard chair and sighed: "But the United States, like Britain, is also manipulated by the international capitalist group! Once Britain loses world hegemony, the United States will definitely adopt a more hostile policy under the manipulation of the international capitalist group!"
"International capitalist group?" Lenin asked in a pondering manner, "Comrade Braun, do you mean that international capitalism is one? But the current war shows that international capitalism has different groups... Basically, every capitalist country is controlled by capitalists in its own country. In order to compete for the market and raw materials of the colonies, a war broke out between capitalist countries."
Hessman shook his head and retorted: "Comrade Lenin, I think you should note that capital can flow across borders, and they can flow from this country to that country. The consortiums originating from two countries can also be merged into one consortium through capital operation, or hold shares with each other to make the two consortiums have common interests. Through this cross-border capital flow and operation, a group of super-large consortiums that can dominate multiple countries and even the entire world will eventually be generated."
"I think this is just your guess," Lenin said, "or when will there really be a large consortium that can dominate multiple countries in the future. But now obviously, there are no such large consortiums. Otherwise, this world war would not have broken out, right?"
