Chapter 35 Emotional Intelligence(1/2)
This is really bad news.
For a moment, Rhodes didn't notice the sunny and peaceful Shangcheng area.
The air here is clear and clean, and the buildings are scattered in an orderly manner. Looking up, the black fog is very high and far away, like a dark cloud on the horizon.
Rhodes finally felt the atmosphere of a normal city. He could see sparse pedestrians on the street, horseless carriages like them, bakeries, cloak shops, and beautiful restaurants on the street.
A unique tavern, a Horseless Carriage Station, and the Uncensored Inn next to it.
This is what he understands as a city full of human fireworks.
Rhode saw a group of people standing on the side of the road with a sign, and couldn't help but blurted out: "You also have public... carriages?"
Lauren's gray eyes looked at him, as if saying why do you still care about this at this time, but he still explained:
"Of course, the hearse is one of the important means of transportation in the royal city."
"Is there one in Xiacheng District too?"
"Of course, Xiacheng District is dozens of times larger than Shangcheng District, and transportation without a hearse would be very inconvenient. However, public hearses in Xiacheng District will only be opened on suitable days."
Can you change the name? People in the whole city are riding in hearses. Is this because they are afraid that the death will not be complete enough?
Rhodes didn't know how to complain, so he had to forget the word in his mind and call it "uncoded car".
The hearse bypassed several blocks and drove into a complex of castle-like buildings with darker tones. It has sharp towers and thick high walls, which are incompatible with the light and bright atmosphere of the upper town.
The hearse drove into a castle in the center of the building complex and stopped in an underground parking lot where countless hearses were parked. Rhodes followed Lauren into this legendary horror institution.
The interior of the Internal Affairs Tribunal is not as spooky as it looks from the outside. It is brightly lit and has peaceful colors. Simple and straight corridors divide one room after another. There is a lamp every ten steps on the walls on both sides, illuminating it with bright light.
Every corner of the place is visited, and most of the people coming and going are wearing neat robes, making it look like an ordinary workplace.
However, Rhodes saw a gloomy underground passage in a corner, with faint wailing and screams in the air. People with bloodstains on their robes stayed nearby gloomily, as if waiting for the next one.
Prey.
When Rhodes approached, they all cast malicious glances at him.
But fortunately, Lauren didn't stop here. They walked straight forward and came to a huge luxurious room.
There is a thick red carpet here, there are silver carvings hanging on the gorgeous mahogany benches, and there is quiet incense floating in the air. The four chief adjudicators are waiting for him here.
They sat at the top of the table, and a long black table was filled with paper documents, special crystal balls, and their identity plates.
Rod stood calmly behind Lauren and looked at them.
The one on the far right is a middle-aged man with blond hair. The outline of his face is indeed somewhat similar to that of Cassian. He also has the same blond hair and blue eyes. The nameplate says Mybor Prosmore.
Then there was a guy with red hair and an iron mask. His nameplate read Manolobana Gula. This last name reminded Rhodes of the fat red-haired man who called human feces.
On the left is an old man with black hair and light eyes. He has few wrinkles on his face and a peaceful expression. The nameplate reads Aligheli Dan Black Bear, but he himself does not seem to have anything to do with black bears.
It seems that this is Lauren’s teacher and one of his biggest supporters.
Although Rhodes doesn't know exactly how they became their backers.
The one on the far left is a woman whose age cannot be discerned. She has strange blue hair, delicate facial features, thin lips, and a cold light flashing in her narrow eyes. Her nameplate reads Lysa Blue Moon.

There were many black-robed guards standing behind them, and the nameplates on the chests of the guards uniformly read "Crow".
Lauren bowed slightly to the four of them and sat sideways.
Rhodes stood alone in front of the long table, accepting the scrutiny of the four people.
Among them, the blond Mibol's eyes are the most complex, full of his father's hostility, helpless friendliness, relatively pure appreciation, and the indifferent neutrality representing the Internal Affairs Tribunal.
Manolo Bana's eyes only contained pure malice and hatred.
The eyes of Black Bear and Blue Moon were relatively calm and they could not see anything.
Rhodes knew what he was doing and was not so nervous anymore.
"Rhode of Red Rock Village."
The iron mask suspected of being the father of human feces spoke.
"I'll give you a suggestion. Stop making excuses and confess everything. I will make a suggestion to the president and send your ashes into the holy fire."
Rhodes said calmly: "Why don't you confess?"
The eyes behind the iron mask narrowed: "Do you want to say that I am your accomplice?"
"No, I am innocent, you are the murderer."
A crow behind shouted: "Watch your attitude! This is the Grand Adjudicator!"
Rhodes said calmly: "If you don't allow me to speak, then I can shut up."
Iron Mask sneered: "I think there is no need to continue the interrogation. Just use the special investigation. I will carefully pry open his soul and dig out every secret of his."
The black bear on the side said softly: "Gula, you can listen to his reasons."
Mibol said coldly: "You tell me."
Rhodes said loudly: "You all know that I just ignited the soul fire not long ago. I was just an ordinary person before. How could the doomsday cult choose an ordinary person to be a helper in the migration team that murdered hundreds of people?"
Iron Mask sneered: "Although you were not a fire wielder before, you can still master extraordinary power."
Rhodes wisely bypassed this unfamiliar area: "Master Ma, please use your little brain to think about it. If I did this, why would I stay where I am? And
The extremely wise blue and white lady..."
Lauren coughed:

"It's Lord Aligheili Dan Qingyu, the guardian."
Rhodes immediately changed his mind: "Then, why did the wise and beautiful guardian Qingyu let me go, who was extremely suspicious? She even allowed me a certain degree of freedom in the royal city. Isn't she afraid of letting someone go?
Will doomsday cultists cause huge damage if they move freely in the royal city?"
Iron Mask said coldly: "Maybe there is some shameful conspiracy involved."
Rhodes sneered: "Yes, everyone is a bad person, but you are a good person. Do you think you run a winery?"
Although Iron Mask didn't understand what it meant to open a winery, the irony in his words was obvious, and his tone instantly became even colder.
"Glib excuses are useless. You are the only survivor at the scene, but you claim to have amnesia. And the doomsday cultist gray cat Alai still has your letter in his pocket. You also killed Bass, the priest of lies, and silenced him.
, cut off one of our most important clues. All the evidence points firmly to you. I don’t understand why Your Excellency Qingyu would shield you. Maybe I should propose to the king to re-discuss the identity of her candidate."
As soon as the words fell, the atmosphere became very subtle, and everyone looked a little unnatural.
But Rhodes was certain in his heart.
Sure enough, this is not only a dispute over the case, but also involves something deeper.
Then, he will not be given up easily.
"I think we'd better go back to discussing the case."
Black Bear's calm and slightly old voice broke the awkward silence.
"Seizing the traces of the Polluter Sect is our most important thing. I don't think any of you want to see them destroying our warm home and our only place of survival, right?"
His light-colored eyes glanced at everyone, and there was a strange power in his peaceful eyes that calmed everyone down.
Mibol said:
"I very much agree with what Mr. Black Bear said. The Royal City and the Holy Fire are everything to us. Unless they step over my body, no one can destroy our home. We should be cautious about Rhodes' trial. We have huge power.
A small willfulness is a mountain of despair when it falls on a person. If the only home no longer loves him, I can't think of another way out except committing suicide or throwing himself into the darkness."
Lan Yue said appreciatively:
"Mibor said it very well, and this is what our king advocates, let the home be everyone's home, not some people's home."
A trace of disgust flashed in Iron Mask's eyes, and he said coldly: "We still have a lot to do, just ask questions directly."
Black Bear nodded slightly, turned his gaze to Rhodes, and said calmly: "Rhode, please answer all my next questions truthfully."
Rhodes nodded.
"Do you remember your relationship with the gray cat Alai, the clerk at Gray Moss Street Office?"
Rhodes shook his head: "I don't remember."
"Do you remember that you lived on Baker Street in the second largest borough of the outer city for three years?"
"Don't remember."
"Why did you kill Bass?"
"I didn't think so much. I was dragged into an unknown space. I was very scared and didn't know its importance. Lord Lauren's battle was very unfavorable. He was besieged by many glass-like giants. I was very worried that he would be
Killed, so I shot him when I saw Bass."
The cold voice of Iron Mask interrupted.
"Why can you see Bath hidden by a high-level spell?"
