Chapter 2 The Daughter of the Magistrate

It took a long time before a woman responded inside: "Who?" The voice was so small that it was so small that it seemed as if it wasn't full.

Wu Jing said: "It's me, Wu Jing."

The door opened a crack, and a beautiful head popped out from inside. He looked out thief and said, "Aunt Wu, I'm sorry, I thought I was here to collect debts." His eyes fell on the cart. When he saw An Yi's bloody head, he was stunned for a moment, then a trace of gloating and pleasure flashed in his eyes, and he screamed exaggeratedly: "Isn't this our big girl? What kind of disaster did she cause?"

"Where is your mistress?" Wu Jing pushed the door that the beauty had been tightly pulled by her, frowned and said, "Let's talk about it when you go in, she is in a hurry to take medicine!"

The beauty then gave in and raised her voice and shouted: "Old lady, come quickly, the big girl is in trouble!"

The baby's crying sound suddenly sounded in the main room, and an old woman's voice rang out in anger: "Gilli, you are trying to die, scare my good grandson. The dead girl causes trouble every few days, how can she not be good? She can't die anyway. Don't look for me if you have any trouble, go find her biological mother, who will care whoever gives birth to it." Then there was a series of gentle voices to coax the baby: "Don't cry, don't cry."

He really ignored everything when he had a male grandson. The beauty Geely curled her lips and raised her eyebrows, and gloatedly shouted at the East House again: "Madam, Madam, the big girl's head is covered in blood! I'm afraid it won't work, come out quickly and see!"

Before he finished speaking, the curtain of the east room had been lifted up. A pale face, thin and sickly woman, about thirty years old, was wearing an old jacket, holding her hands on the door frame and looking over sadly and worriedly, her voice was trembling: "What's wrong with Yi'er?" Seeing An Yi's bloody head exposed outside, her legs suddenly became soft, and she staggered and rushed up and cried, "What's wrong?" Before the person could not get up in front of the cart, she couldn't breathe and fell to the ground in a mess.

Geely didn't go up to Mrs. Fu'an, but just yelled there: "Why did the big girl get bloody again? Could it be that she is fighting with someone again? Tsk tsk, she wouldn't stay at home on such a heavy snowy day..."

"She went to pick wild vegetables and met a wild dog." Wu Jing helped Mrs. An up and said, "She was bleeding too much and was frozen in the snow for a long time. If she didn't carry it into the house for treatment, she might be killed. I'm sending the person back. What should you do if your family wants to save it or not?"

"Save! Save! I'm sorry to send her to the west room." Mrs. An took a breath and grabbed Wu Jing's hand and begged hard: "Aunt Wu, please be fine and save this child again." Wu Jing is a kind-hearted person. She pity her family's hardships. Not only did she treat her doctor but she didn't charge any money, but she even asked An Yi to help copy books to subsidize the household income. She was now penniless and her mother-in-law didn't care. Her husband was not here, so she had to ask Wu Jing.

Before Wu Jing could answer, Geely whispered: "Madam, there is no rice in the house, and I still owe a lot of money to the butcher shop and grocery shop. You still owe Aunt Wu the medical expenses you spent on. I am afraid that you can't make up the girl's medical expenses anymore. What should I do?"

"You..." Mrs. An was so angry that she was about to scold this concubine who was ignorant of the world. When she remembered that the most important thing at the moment was her daughter's injury, she swallowed and grabbed Wu Jing and said, "Aunt Wu, don't worry, I can't lose your medical expenses. When I get well, I will do needlework..."

Geely interrupted her and said, "Madam, Aunt Wu is a good person. She asked the girl to copy books and earn money and manage her meals. But she was ungrateful and wasted her good intentions. Even if her aunt's medical expenses were not counted, she always required money to get medicine. A good wife couldn't cook without rice. She could no longer ask her to go to the medicine shop to pay on credit..."

If this vicious and domineering concubine had not instigated the mother-in-law and husband, which led to the young and stubborn daughter and grandmother, and the father had a conflict and was beaten, the daughter would not have been angry and ran out to pick wild vegetables in such a snowy day. Mrs. An wanted to tear the Geely to pieces, but because there was something difficult for outsiders to do it, she had to open her eyes and squeeze out two words from her teeth: "Shut up!"

Wu Jing was too lazy to deal with An’s housework, so she rolled An Yi into a tube with the quilt on her body, and ordered Jili to carry the person into the west room. Seeing that she was about to enter the house smoothly, Jili suddenly shouted: "Ouch!" Then she loosened her hands, and An Yi fell to the ground with the quilt.

Wu Jing was caught off guard and was led to a stagger. When he hurriedly reached out to catch it, he only grabbed one of the quilts and could only watch An Yi roll down and smash on the threshold, making a dull "bang" sound, and it fell very lightly.

Seeing this, Mrs. An pushed away Geely with heartache and rushed up, trembling with her hands, she hugged An Yi in her arms and started crying.

"I really didn't mean it. I got up early and didn't eat breakfast. I was hungry and had no strength. I tripped the damn threshold again." Geely covered her face and cried, snatching the reactions of An Yi and his daughter, Wu Jing and others from her fingers. However, An Yi, who had been unconscious, opened her eyes and looked around weakly. She looked at Mrs. An in a daze, then turned her eyes to stare at herself steadily. Her eyes were dark and very creepy.

Geely was so nervous that she saw it that she smiled and said, "Grand girl, are you awake? Come, I will help you to bed and rest." After saying that, she went forward to help An Yi, and used her sleeves to cover her sleeves and pinched An Yi's arm hard. She just thought that An Yi would scream and scold her as before, and then she made a big fuss with herself as a human being. Unexpectedly, An Yi just frowned slightly, looked at her coldly without saying a word, without blinking. The eyes were full of death and indescribable indifference, Geely couldn't help but shook her coldly, and let go of her hand in a bad mood.

An Yi withdrew her gaze and smiled weakly and gratefully at Wu Jing beside her. She grabbed Geely's hand tightly and signaled her to help her get up. An Yi's hand was cold, which made Geely's arm hurt. Geely did not dare to do anything anymore, and endured the pain and worked with Mrs. An to help An Yi on the kang next to the window.

The kang had never been burned, and it was cold and the bedding and other items were even more old. Fortunately, it was washed clean. An Yi smiled bitterly and said angrily: "Thirsty."

Mrs. An hurriedly found a teapot with a broken hand from the old table beside her, poured half a cup of cold white water, and wanted to hand it over but couldn't bear it, so she went to see Geely in a blink of an eye. Before she could speak, Geely spread her hands: "It's gone, everything costs money."

It's better than sewage and eating snow, An Yi opened her mouth and signaled to drink this one.

Mrs. An had no choice but to come forward to feed her cold water, and shed tears while feeding her.

Wu Jing frowned when she looked at it. An Yi was the eldest and only daughter of the An family. She was so hurt, but she didn't even drink hot water in one sip. Mrs. An was too soft and kind, and she couldn't even protect her daughter. The mother and daughter were too cowardly and the other was impulsive and irritable. If this continues, it would be useless if she was willing to provide them with convenience.

After a moment, An Yi finished drinking the water and frowned and begged to look at Mrs. An: "It hurts." Although she didn't know the situation, she knew who was sincerely good to her in the room. Her injuries could not be dragged down. If she dragged on, she might have to see the King of Hell again.

Mrs. An wiped her tears, stood up and bowed to Wu Jingshen, begging, "Aunt Wu, please save my child."

When I sent the Buddha to the west, I couldn't watch the girl delay. Wu Jing sighed, frowned, took out the purse from her sleeve, and ordered Chen Zhishan and the others who had been hanging outside to buy firewood and informed the county magistrate An, and then took medicine to make medicine to clean An Yi's wounds.

Chen Zhishan kept waiting outside, not taking Wu Jing's money, but said, "I have money."

His family is a famous big family in Changli County. He is very rich. He is the only son in the family and does not lack money. Wu Jing followed him and told him: "Go and go back quickly."

"Hey!" Chen Zhishan looked at Mrs. An sympathetically before leaving, and then glared at Geely indignantly.

He saved his daughter and had to pay for medical treatment to buy firewood. He was so shameless that he was so hot that he wanted to have a crack in the floor to drill down. But when he saw An Yi dying, his face became thicker. He looked up at Wu Jing and said softly: "Thank you, Aunt Wu, don't worry, I will try to repay your money in a few days." After momo, he said: "It's not that Yi'er doesn't want to copy books for you, but there is a reason. When she gets better, I will ask her to continue copying books for you."

"Let's talk about it." Wu Jing put his hand on An Yi's pulse door and signaled Mrs. An to sit down first: "You have not yet passed the confinement period, so you should not be too worried and worry, otherwise you will suffer from confinement illness in the future."

Mrs. An held her tears and sat silently beside her, staring at An Yi's face in a daze.

An Yi half-closed her eyes and did not let go of any words around her to find out that she was the daughter of a county magistrate. The family was very poor. She fell asleep in a drowsy way because of her serious injury. When she woke up again, it was dark and the room was quiet and there was no one. The light as big as a bean could only illuminate the head of her kang. Before she could see the surrounding environment clearly, she heard a sharp scream and scolding from outside the window.

I heard an old woman say angrily: "Go! Go! Go! The dignified county magistrate cannot support the old lady's wife and children. It would be embarrassing to ask me to buy a concubine for you to raise a son. Why would I be embarrassed to ask me for money to pay off my debts with you? I knew that even if you were an official, I would still be so cowardly. I would have to follow you from the capital to this poor, broken, cold and remote place. Why did you work so hard at the beginning? I sold you some bird books for you to read!"

A man whispered in a low voice: "Mom, didn't my son collect the salary a few days ago? Shouldn't he still have some left? Why did you pay back Aunt Wu's medicine money first? Can't he save our eldest girl's life and still owe others money to others."

The old woman said angrily: "Get out! It's gone long ago, please be careful of my crutches!"
