Chapter 3 This Family (Part 1)

It was so messy. An Yi sighed and shouted tentatively: "Mom?"

The whole yard suddenly became silent, and then the footsteps came, the door was pushed open, a thin cheek and slightly black, a hunched back, and a man who looked over 40 walked in first and asked, "Are you awake?"

With the dim light, An Yi saw the reproachful and stern eyes of the visitor clearly, and guessed that the man should be the father of this body. An Yi first shrank into the quilt with guilt, and then faced the other person's eyes with confidence. What else should she be afraid of when she reached this point? As long as she deals properly, who knows if she is really An Yi?

County Magistrate An saw that his eldest daughter looked at him motionlessly, couldn't help but sigh, and walked slowly to the stool beside him and sat down and said, "Why don't you answer? Isn't the beat you got before enough? You don't know the rules even if you are such a big person. It's fine if you don't call me, and you don't even answer."

His tone was a little bad, with a lot of irritability. An Yi quickly analyzed that this family not only had grandmothers who did not love their granddaughters, but also had concubines who would torture and bully their legitimate daughters, and fathers who would beat their daughters. Then wouldn’t she be the only one who was sick and weak Mrs. An could rely on? She could run so far in such a snowy day, not just because of her poverty? I’m afraid she was still angry and helpless.

Seeing that she still didn't speak, County Magistrate An couldn't help but turn into anger because of her pity caused by her injury: "I had told you that I was not in contact with you now, and there were hungry everywhere, and it was a bit messy. I told you not to leave the city alone, but you just didn't listen. Look, you almost lost your life? This did not scare your mother out of nothing, otherwise I'll see how I deal with you!"

The hero did not suffer any loss in front of him. An Yi lowered her eyes and said softly: "Dad, my daughter knows that she is wrong. Don't be angry."

As soon as he finished speaking, County Magistrate An stopped moving and looked at her with a strange look.

An Yi was so scared that she had to lower her head again, staring at the flowers on the quilt without saying a word.

"Yi'er, you're hungry." Mrs. An came in with a bowl and said anxiously when she saw this: "Master, she woke up only when she was seriously injured. She also said that she wanted to eat fresh vegetables and then went to dig wild vegetables outside the city. Don't blame her, right?" She advised An Yi again: "Good daughter, admit your father's mistake quickly, and we won't run around in the future."

An Yi said very obediently: "Dad, I was wrong, I won't make you angry again."

"That's right!" Mrs. An was also a little stunned while being happy.

County Magistrate An said on the side: "The stubborn girl can speak softly and admit her mistakes. After this, she became sensible. I don't know if it was a blessing or a disaster."

This person is not good if he doesn't know how to beg for mercy, nor if he knows how to beg for mercy. He used to be too soft and kind, so he fell to this point. He doesn't know what happened afterwards. Was he thrown into the wilderness to feed the wolf, or was he covered a broken mat with a straw? Thinking of the past, An Yi couldn't help feeling sad, and lowered her head and whispered: "I've walked in the Hall of Hell, and if I don't know anything, I'll die in vain."

Mrs. An remembered the pain she suffered over the years, and she barely held back her sorrow. She sat down beside the kang and helped An Yi up and said softly: "It's good to be sensible. Come on, eat these two eggs."

A sweet fragrance came to my nose, and it turned out that there were two poached eggs in the bowl. An Yi was even more hungry, so she grabbed the bowl and feasted. After eating, she looked at Mrs. An pitifully: "It's really delicious, is there any?"

Mrs. An looked at County Magistrate An in embarrassment. County Magistrate An was silent for a moment, stood up, and made a great determination and said, "When I go and think of a solution." After that, he walked out strode.

An Yi just thought he was going to search for old lady An to ask for money. Unexpectedly, he heard Geely sing in the yard: "Master, it's so late, where are you going?" County Magistrate An didn't answer, and the yard door creaked and there was no movement.

Mrs. An suddenly twisted her slender eyebrows, with a sad face, and said to herself, "It's so late, what else can your father think of? Even if he doesn't want it, not many people are willing to lend him money." She has been here for five or six years, and everyone who can borrow has borrowed it, and many debts have not been paid yet. Who is willing to borrow it? If she hadn't been this official, the house she lived in was from the county government office, and she would have been driven out long ago, and her wife and children have dragged it to pay off the debt.

An Yi asked softly: "Mom, why is the old lady unwilling to use it?" She has seen too many things about calculating each other, but after hearing what Mrs. An said before, Old lady An only son, County Magistrate An can rely on, so she should not ignore it.

Mrs. An looked at her strangely and said, "You don't know your grandmother's temper." After a pause, she said helplessly: "Your father's temperament, he can spend all his money, and a cent of silver can spend two."

She really didn't know anything, and she had to inquire. An Yi pursed her lips and decided to throw out the words she had prepared for a long time: "Mom, I don't seem to remember some things, but if I think about it for a while, my brain hurts." It's good to deal with it in a short time, but she will be exposed after a long time. It's better to say it clearly early to save the time and cause storms.

Mrs. An was indeed very nervous and immediately got up and brought the dim oil lamp to check An Yi's wound: "Didn't Aunt Wu say that there is nothing serious about it?"

An Yi let her fiddle and said softly: "I don't know what's going on, I can't even remember why I was in danger..."

"Earlier, Aunt Wu said that the injury on your head was a stick injury. Your father also said to ask who was hurting you and you were standing up for you. Why did he forget it all?" Mrs. An was confused and didn't know what to do, so she couldn't help but shed tears: "It's all my mother who has no ability to drag you down. Don't blame your father, it's not that he doesn't love you..."

An Yi was upset by her crying and was about to persuade her, but suddenly she heard Geely shouting in the yard: "Madam! The master ran out angrily. Could it be that the eldest girl was talking back to the master again? You persuaded the eldest girl to be so hurt that the whole family was so anxious. Why did he make the master angry again when he woke up?"

Before An Yi could understand what was going on, Mrs. An was so angry that her face turned pale. She walked to the door and whispered to Geely: "What are you yelling around? Don't talk nonsense if you don't have anything..."

Before he finished speaking, Old Mrs. An walked out of the main room with great momentum and cursed without saying anything, "You are still protecting this dead girl! Otherwise, what would Baoliang run out to do in the middle of the night?"

Mrs. An lowered her eyes and said softly: "The master wants to borrow money."

"Who will he lend him? Who will lend him to him if he just borrows it or not? "Who will lend him to him when he heard this?" Old Mrs. An was even more angry and paused hard on the ground with his vine and wooden crutches, and scolded loudly: "I know, you have to plan on me together. I think I am old and I am reluctant to take it out for you to spend money. I will show you the most in the night. Don't think about it, you have never given birth to a son and you will always be sick after entering my house for so many years. It's not that I pay for you to treat you, can you give birth to a son? I know you resent you for buying Jili as a concubine, but now I will raise your son. What else do you want? You are an unfilial and unvirtuous woman! But you will know that you are afraid after you leave?"

Seeing that Old Mrs. An was cursing there, tears flashed in her eyes and she whispered: "There is no food at home. The master wants to try to get some rice and grain back."

"I knew it was this dead girl who was making trouble. She wanted to eat something delicious again, right?" Old Mrs. An sneered, rushed to An Yi's kang and swung her crutch and wanted to greet her. She also cursed: "If you beat you to death, you will be clean. You will be like this. You are urging your father to death in the middle of the night. If you had known that you were such a disaster, I would have thrown you into the toilet to death!"

For some reason, An Yi suddenly burned on her body, and she could only instinctively protect her head and wanted to roll into the kang. Who would have thought that she had experienced too much today? Not to mention avoiding Mrs. An's crutches, it was difficult to raise her hand, so she had to watch her crutches smashed down on her body.
